Hey Teoh, great video as always. I have a question. Do you recommend applying matte protection for this Galaxy Tab S6 lite? afaik this type doesn't come with screen protector like gorilla glass or the likes (at least in my country). Should I use it as it is or buy a screen protection? What would you recommend for me since I will be mainly using it to draw and maybe browsing a lil bit. (Not to watch netflix or youtube). What will it affect with or without screen protection? (the feel on drawing, the durabilty of pen nib). sorry for the long question, because I know you are the right guy to ask about this lol. Thanks in advance.
I think a matte screen protector is necessary if you already have a flip cover. The matte screen protector will also wear out the rubber tip of the S Pen very quick, and you have to switch to plastic tip.
From your detailed reviews.. I'm starting out actually drawing on tab, I've been drawing or sketching on paper, but want to be able to do it on tabs as well as pair that tab to my laptop to draw with it (I saw a way using super display app). I was considering the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 with precision pen 2 and also saw the Xiaomi Tab 5, and lastly this Samsung Tab s6 lite.. From all I've seen so far, I think the safest option would be this since it's somewhat reliable and have good drawing experience.. But what do you say?

Hey i can't decide if i should go for s6 lite or a display tablet(xp 10), i mostly need for illustrations and short 2d animations, is s6 good for animations?
what would you recommend between s6 lite 2022 and p11 plus with the precision pen 2? both are the same price in my region. i do prefer the p11's better ips screen with viewing angles and better colors and i dont really like TFT panels with very tight viewing angles and especially on this one with the backlight bleed near the bottom, however this is going to come down to drawing/digital art performance for me. seeing as you have tried both, is the drawing experience different enough to justify going for one over the other? the tablet's main use will be drawing/digital art, but i will also use it for reading manga/books and consuming media such as shows/youtube videos/movies. i would really appreciate your insight on this.
I bought s6 lite and also worrying about the tft display but boy...it is absolute bomb...the display is great,I have no light bleed issue and the battery last very long...I mainly using it for drawing comic...3-4 hours with just 4% battery decreased.
Hi Teoh! Please, do you know if this tablet needs to be protected with a film or screen protector? 😮 Taking into account that I would use it mainly for illustration ✨ and the rest secondary web navigation... I'm waiting for the tablet as a gift (I don't know if it will be 2020 or 2022 i will still take care of it 🤗❤) in these months or soon and I would like to know if I use it to draw 😯 will the screen be scratched and also learn more about suitable spare parts for the pencil and the pressure of This pencil is compatible with glass or matte screen protectors. Currently I draw with a deco pro s that i'm 4 years old somewhat worn out but still alive and I connect it to my Android cell phone only that I view it on a small screen 😅. Thanks Theo for your review. Greetings! 😃👍
If you want to use a screen protector, just get those thin plastic ones. The thicker glass ones may affect pen performance. The matte screen protectors will wear off the pen tip faster. The pen tip will not scratch glass so you may not even need a screen protector. FYI, glass is harder than most metals. You can just go with a flip case. For original soft S Pen nibs, the rubberised ones and not the plastic ones, you can buy from AliExpress sellers, these two tidd.ly/3JOQb4E tidd.ly/3POuWEa
Hey Teoh, looking to buy this as a gift for someone who would definitely use this to draw for work. No gaming would be necessary, though she’d probably use it to watch shows. Would you still recommend this or the Xiaomi Pad 5? I understand the Xiaomi is more powerful, but I wonder if Samsung has better updates lifespan. Both are running around the 400 or sub-400 SGD price range in Singapore.
If you draw often, get Samsung. Otherwise the Xiaomi is a much better tablet for everything else. As for updates, all I can say is not having updates does not mean the tablet will stop working.

If you have limited budget, this is probably the one with the best drawing performance at the lower price point. The tablet probably won't be outdated that fast unless the drawing apps evolved to need more resources and I don't really expect that to happen.
@@teohontech7141 thank you so much for the response! but either way both are fine right??? we're actually planning to get a tablet tomorrow, unfortunately i was wrong and the xiaomi one seems to be the cheaper option based on online pricing... hopefully both will be worth it regardless of which one we end up going for 😅

Do you have to get an internet account and download apps directly onto the s6 or can I use my Samsung phone to download apps and somehow transfer them to the s6? Tethering via usb cable or wireless? Via wifi? Bluetooth?
i just got a s6 lite, and so far my only criticism is the somewhat short battery life, other than that its been working perfectly! the apps did crash a few times at the start while the tablet was still fully starting up as i tested it straight from the box, but after that ive had no problems with it :) do you just happen to know how to stop the pen menu from popping up every time i use the button? ive been using it as a shortcut to switch between pen and eraser on ibispaint x and the side menu popping up every time blocks my strokes and gets annoying fast (by the way, great genshin gameplay lol)
You can test pressure with Medibang Paint Pro (need to turn it on in settings), Infinite Painter, Clip Studio Paint. Actually most drawing apps should work with pressure
I would suggest getting the opensource software market called f-droid, it has the drawing software called 'Krita' for android, which works really well on this tablet :)
@@teohyc I did not realize its in the play store, also curious if the versions in fdroid and play store are different since the play store listing says it has in app purches.
I have a doubt: I know that just 4GB RAM isn't very good, especially if we're talking about applications like Clip Studio and using it to make animations and things like that. But, could RAM PLUS technology help performance? Since the tablet has 128GB, and probably has a 12GB RAM PLUS option, would it have a positive impact on performance?
@@photoniccannon2117 oh. If I'm not mistaken, if the user wants, they can change these options and either turn them off or add more. What do you think of his performance when using clip studio? I know it won't run like an iPad or an S8, but does the program work well on this tablet? Is it possible to make animations on this tablet using CSP? (simple animations, not too heavy stuff)
In Germany this costs 239€ and the ipad 10 , 579€… what should I do ( +100€ for the pencil 1 gen) !?!? I have a MacBook and an iPhone and I like the macOS/iOS but Apple has some crazy prices in Europe at the moment.
Hey friends, I need a quick advice from you - I am in a hurry to buy a drawing tablet for my 10 years old daughter. It will be her first experience with a pen tablet. Should I go with this Samsung Tab S6 Lite 2022 or with Simbans PicassoTab XL? Anything else below $400 price tag? Thank you in advance.
For drawing on Android, go with Samsung. 2nd place is Xiaomi Pad 5 with Xiaomi Smart Pen. Xiaomi tablet is much better but the drawing performance not as precise as the Samsung S Pen.
Some drawing apps will save files within apps, and those will use internal storage. If you use apps that save files to the cloud, or apps that let you choose save location (external storage), then you can get 64GB. But if you can afford, I highly recommend 128GB storage.
iPad is better for logo design because there are more apps that handle vector, text and layout. The Android app that can do this is Vectorink and you can try it out on their website vectorink.io
If you are buying a tablet for drawing, this has very good drawing performance. It’s not too expensive and is a good starter tablet for learning digital art
Hello! I have a question. Can Illustrator be used on this tablet? Or can the illustration be imported in some compatible format and then opened in Illustrator from a PC? Can the illustration be separated into layers by color?
Ok, i dont recommend this tablet, spen is a really bad drawing experience, the tilt is useless and if you deactivate it manually in lets say infinite painter(or any other drawing app) then when the pen is in angle the pressure sensibility disappears.
Test with Dry Ink brush from Infinite Painter. You be able to draw with light or heavy pressure, and with tilt. The pen's design isn't the best for tilt though because when you tilt too low, the pen tip loses contact with the glass. Staedtler Noris Digital, Lamy AL Star can tilt lower
@@teohontech7141 thank you for taking the time to respond, but, it isnt working, its like a spen desing problem, if you turn off the tilt but tend to draw with the pen "tilted" it adds another layer of pressure and makes the lines thicker than it should be, the pen is designed to be holded straight and thats not how real pens(or cintiq/intuos) works. Would try to get another EMR pens, hope it doesnt turn on a waste of money...

Hey i can't decide if i should go for s6 lite or a display tablet(xp 10), i mostly need for illustrations and short 2d animations, is s6 good for animations?
The xppen is better because desktop animation software is better. But not sure how good they will work on a small display
what would you recommend between s6 lite 2022 and p11 plus with the precision pen 2? both are the same price in my region.
i do prefer the p11's better ips screen with viewing angles and better colors and i dont really like TFT panels with very tight viewing angles and especially on this one with the backlight bleed near the bottom, however this is going to come down to drawing/digital art performance for me.
seeing as you have tried both, is the drawing experience different enough to justify going for one over the other? the tablet's main use will be drawing/digital art, but i will also use it for reading manga/books and consuming media such as shows/youtube videos/movies.
i would really appreciate your insight on this.
Samsung will have better drawing performance
@@teohontech7141 is the difference in drawing performance enough to warrant going with the noticeably worse screen?
@@finnmartins191 The Samsung screen is not as the P11 Plus but it's not that bad
I bought s6 lite and also worrying about the tft display but boy...it is absolute bomb...the display is great,I have no light bleed issue and the battery last very long...I mainly using it for drawing comic...3-4 hours with just 4% battery decreased.
badly wish that good with my hands.
edit - oh yeah, mine surpasses the 2024 model, didn't cheap out the charger.
Which one would you recommend mainly for drawing, the original s6 or lite 2022
Maybe the 2022. Original S6 is kinda old so not sure about the battery health left

For original soft S Pen nibs, the rubberised ones and not the plastic ones, you can buy from AliExpress sellers, these two

The Xiaomi Pad 5 is better for multimedia. It has a better screen and and excellent sound. The S6 lite is a good one and the S Pen is a plus.
I have the 2020 version. I love it and I mostly use it for drawing. But lately I started to consider if I should change it to an iPad. What do you think of iPads and which one is better? Do you have any recommendations which iPad should I get that is similar?
There is no point switching when your current tablet is still working
What drawing programs are you using?

Sir which app is used instead of adobe illustrator in this tablet for illustration or graphic designing.

There’s only on tip. It’s quite durable. Anyway replacement tips are easy to find
Ipad 9th gen with alternative stylus or s6 lite... Which is better for students??
Really depends on your budget. For limited budget, probably get S6 Lite and you can use microsd card for more storage. Comes with S Pen too.

hi my dad is planning to get me a digital material for drawing at the end of the year, do you think this is still one of the best budget tablet going 2024?
also considering the xiaomi pad 5, though i think the s6 lite is gonna be cheaper plus it already comes with a pen. do you think buying it this time around will still be worth it and will it still do fine in maybe a few years from now? also concerns in it eventually getting outdated etc?? since there's like an s9 now but ipad/later tablets are expensive for us unfortunately
tbh idc much about anything else, just need an affordable drawing material which can offer good drawing experience, bigger screen (since i draw on my phone 😅), and will hold out just fne for maybe a few years
If you have limited budget, this is probably the one with the best drawing performance at the lower price point. The tablet probably won't be outdated that fast unless the drawing apps evolved to need more resources and I don't really expect that to happen.
@@teohontech7141 thank you so much for the response! but either way both are fine right??? we're actually planning to get a tablet tomorrow, unfortunately i was wrong and the xiaomi one seems to be the cheaper option based on online pricing... hopefully both will be worth it regardless of which one we end up going for 😅
@@93quarters37 how is the tablet going? You buying samsung or xiaomi?
@tutortomato bought the samsung one! it's been 4 months and it's fine so far!! i like that it came with the pen already so tbh i'm satisfied that i went w it. if ur an artist samsung is the better option bc the pen is better (i do digital art so my main concern was the pen) but if you aren't then either of the two is fine i think??
What graphic design apps do you use?
I don't do graphic design on tablets. I use desktop. But if you want to, you can try Krita, Clip Studio Paint
Hello man, between this ai tab s6 lite 2022 and the mi pad 5. In terms of writing and use of studies which one would you indicate.
The Xiaomi tablet is better. Pen performance for writing is good

what about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra?
Same drawing performance, just bigger.
@@teohontech7141 Yeah way bigger and strongh. But expensive lol.
i just got a s6 lite, and so far my only criticism is the somewhat short battery life, other than that its been working perfectly! the apps did crash a few times at the start while the tablet was still fully starting up as i tested it straight from the box, but after that ive had no problems with it :)
do you just happen to know how to stop the pen menu from popping up every time i use the button?
ive been using it as a shortcut to switch between pen and eraser on ibispaint x and the side menu popping up every time blocks my strokes and gets annoying fast
(by the way, great genshin gameplay lol)
There are no solution to that,I stopped using the side button 😅
I'm sorry, which example application in the video was able to perceive the pressure of the pen?
You can test pressure with Medibang Paint Pro (need to turn it on in settings), Infinite Painter, Clip Studio Paint. Actually most drawing apps should work with pressure
I would suggest getting the opensource software market called f-droid, it has the drawing software called 'Krita' for android, which works really well on this tablet :)
@@jaydonald4898 Why is f-droid needed when you can already find Krita in Google Play Store

I only see 2GB and 4GB options on mine (128GB)
@@photoniccannon2117 oh. If I'm not mistaken, if the user wants, they can change these options and either turn them off or add more. What do you think of his performance when using clip studio? Can it be used as a display tablet for computer?
Yes, but there will be noticeable lag
In Germany this costs 239€ and the ipad 10 , 579€… what should I do ( +100€ for the pencil 1 gen) !?!? I have a MacBook and an iPhone and I like the macOS/iOS but Apple has some crazy prices in Europe at the moment.
The Samsung just provides more value for money. Or consider Tab S7 FE if that's also at a good price, and this will be even better than the iPad.
Tab s6 lite has better drawing performance. Samsung S Pen is more accurate

Great artist reviews. Latency of Huawei Matepad 11 Vs Galaxy s6 lite? Any opinions of overall best buy value? The two tablets almost same price here.
For drawing on Android, go with Samsung. 2nd place is Xiaomi Pad 5 with Xiaomi Smart Pen. Xiaomi tablet is much better but the drawing performance not as precise as the Samsung S Pen.
Please Test Ibis Paint X
is 64 GB enough? or should I buy the 128 GB one
Some drawing apps will save files within apps, and those will use internal storage. If you use apps that save files to the cloud, or apps that let you choose save location (external storage), then you can get 64GB.
But if you can afford, I highly recommend 128GB storage.

Ok, i dont recommend this tablet, spen is a really bad drawing experience, the tilt is useless and if you deactivate it manually in lets say infinite painter(or any other drawing app) then when the pen is in angle the pressure sensibility disappears.
Dont know if other EMR pens have the same problem but spen was disappointing
@@davidmartin1551 You should download other apps that support tilt to test. E.g. Concepts, Sketchbook.
