    Thank you! I am gonna buy a tablet next month for digital art and was jumping between the s6 lite and the ipad 9, the ipad is a bit out of budget and was wondering if the s6 lite would do it for me, I heard the TFT screen is a bit of a let down but tbh it seems fine to me, so perhaps I'll go for it, thanks again!

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You're welcome, @ABANANA. Yeah, the iPad 9th Gen is a really nice option, and the screen will be better on that too BUT does one really need it when you're just getting started :-) I don't think the screen is anything to really worry about if you're a beginner with digital art.
      If the colors are a little different from what you see on your phone for example when you post to Instagram or whatever, you can tweak your final image as needed before you post. But I would say it's fine as is. You'll be able to do plenty with the S6 Lite while you gradually put away more money for an upgrade down the line.

      Maybe you also need to consider other aspects, such as the chipset before buying the aamsung s6 lite. Thank you for this great review. Using the S6 Lite as a Display Tablet with EasyCanva it will work correctly? Or would be better buying a XP PEN, HUION or a Wacom Cintiq to use directly on Windows?

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the question @Israel Freitas. I would say that if your main work mode is at the computer and you want a tablet for that, then it would be better to go with a dedicated pen display from XPPEN, Huion, or Wacom. With Black Friday approaching, I think you’d be able to get some good deals.
      EasyCanvas with the S6 Lite is nice and it works well, but it’s not as good as Astropad on the iPad. The image quality on a proper pen display will be better than EasyCanvas as well.
      But I did find that EasyCanvas worked well enough when I tested it on there. I wrote an article on AndroidPolice about some of the features and setup: www.androidpolice.com/easycanvas-app-review-hands-on/
      I also chat about it in my video about using the iPad as a Cintiq: th-cam.com/video/0xBKSxBG6iY/w-d-xo.html. The video is a bit outdated now though.

      Thanks @shadyeyes. So with Infinite Painter I could get 20 layers with a 4500 x 6000px at 300DPI. That’s the layer limit set by the app. You could get reduced performance working with a larger brush at that size, but can’t quite remember. I don’t have the tablet any more to confirm this.

    I know it was mentioned in the video but I didn't quite understand, can you use the one in the description with Photoshop? I'm looking for a tablet I can use both for personal projects and for my graphic design & digital illustration classes, for the graphic design class I need both photoshop and illustrator... If anyone can respond to this I'd be grateful :)

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there.
      So at the moment, Photoshop and Illustrator are only available for computer. So to use those, you'll need a tablet for the computer, either a screenless one like a Wacom Intuos or a pen display like Cintiq for example.
      The Galaxy Tab is a standalone mobile device that can't have Ps or Ai installed on it. BUT, with an app like EasyCanvas or SuperDisplay, you can connect the Galaxy Tab to your computer and then it becomes an additional display that is touch- and pen-sensitive... so like a regular pen display.
      The benefit is that you can get the best of both worlds: a display tablet for your computer software, but then can unplug an take on the go draw in mobile apps on the device like a digital sketchbook. The downside is that the display can feel a bit small and computer software UI will shrink down as well.
      If you don't need the normal mobile tablet functionality, you may be better off spending money on a slightly larger pen display. 13-16" seems to be the sweet spot giving sufficient space to work on while still being portable.
      Hope this helps and feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
      (NOTE: I only tested EasyCanvas in Photoshop. I'm not sure how it performs in Illustrator. If anyone else in the community is able to speak to that, please add your comment :-) )

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be wired or wireless. I can't remember if one has to make the first connection wired though.
      Latency can increase a lot depending on your wifi network though.
      For a cable, the one you get with the tablet should be enough or any USB-C cable that is for charge and data transfer

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. No screen protector here. You'd need to be careful with that. A matte screen protector is likely to eat away at the rubber pen tip really fast.
      I didn't feel like it was needed though. I use a paperlike screen protector on my iPad because of the hard plastic on glass feel with the apple pencil. But with the S Pen, I didn't feel like the tablet screen needed the matte texture

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for the question. Hm, I certainly think it's enough to start with. You can get a decent sized canvas in apps like Infinite Painter but there will be layer limitations especially. If you're at the very start of your digital art journey and very early in building your skills, you should be fine with this.
      I could paint silly caricatures of myself, goblin faces, and paintings of bird heads without much trouble. The S Pen is nice but it might be worth considering the Wacom One pen as well which looks a little more comfortable.
      So as you grow things, and maybe decide to spend some money on a good laptop, you can put the tablet to use as a second screen or even a display tablet for drawing in your laptop software.
      Be sure to check out some more review videos to help with your decision. Brad Colbow and Teoh On Tech are other good channels I recommend.

I used to get occasional crashes of Infinite Painter on there but recently had no issues and don't recall changing any settings. It didn't crash at all while doing this review so I suspected it was something that got fixed with an update.
      On my Xiaomi phone, the app crashes when I make a stroke with a drawing tablet connected, but not if I draw with my finger.
      Maybe hit up their support team and report the problem to them. They'll probably need info about your device, app and OS versions, etc.

      Palm rejection is better with a drawing glove, but also if you turn off finger interactions for drawing, or single-finger use, then there are no issues. I really didn't have any problems with it while painting.

      @@Mr_Adhan The Tab S6 Lite is currently on special at $230 for the 2022 version. I think that's such a bargain. If you budget is really tight, then no need to go spend $400+ on an ipad and apple pencil. This will last you a couple of years.
      The ipad is a great device though. It is worth the spend and would give better performance all round I reckon. But I don't feel like the Tab S6 lite would be a bad decision if you don't want to spend that much. At almost half the price, I don't think you're getting half the performance. It's still a good tablet.

    iPad sucks,want to know why? Because iOS sucks lol. Countries literally ban employees from running iPhones ECT because of how unsafe it is

      I think the bigger problem is how people use their devices and the lack of caution. All systems will have vulnerabilities.

      Haha.that is very true. However, with this I'm thinking that most artists doing more professional work might prefer a stronger device that can handle higher resolution files.

      @@EyekooDrawsStuff and I suppose you can´t upcale with it getting pixely? I´m a classic artist looking for a tablet to draw on, on the road. My old S4 is annoying :)

      @EyekooDrawsStuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bicnarok it will generally get a bit pixelated when you try to upscale it. My approach, if I wanted to go bigger, would be to first to do my bigger brush stroke background and sketch on a smaller canvas, flatten, and then import onto a larger canvas where I'd get into the details with smaller brushes.
      Have you had a look at the Galaxy Tab S9FE? You might also be able to find Tab S8 at decent price with cyber Monday/black friday
