    Hi There. I love your videos and they give so much inspiration. I having been teaching myself lampwork for nearly a year now and I always wait eagerly for your next video to pop up. They are so helpful to me and I love the way you teach. Thank you so much..

      Hello Tina! 😃🌹 Omg! Thank you! That means so much to me…..😭 I was trained as a glass blower and stumbled into flameworking. It was easy for me to transition because I had already been working with the glass for years. I can’t imagine being self taught in glass….that’s part of the reason why I wanted to make the 101 series! For people like you!! 🌹✨🌹✨🌹 I am thrilled to here that this collection of demos has helped you with your technique! 🖤🌹🖤 Thank you so much for sharing! I am here for you, Tina!!🤗 Cheers- Robin ✨💫

    Robin, This is an absolutely gorgeous bead! I was going to pay some bills tonight, but I just had a change in plans.😉And thanks so much for your generosity in sharing these tutorials. Like others have mentioned, I am self-taught and I have learned a lot from your tutorials over the last few years. You are awesome!!!!

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohhh Kelly!! 🥰🌹 Thank you so much! (I’d pick the flame over bills any day! 😂) When I finally figured out this combination of colors, every time I filmed it something went wrong….there was a smudge on the lens, or my camera decided to quit in mid filming!😅 it was down (last Thursday) to the last day that I could film for and this one was the One! Amazing…..it was meant to be!!🌹😂✨
      I am pleasantly surprised at how many self-taught’ friends are here! That is so cool!! This is not an easy material to learn!! …and I am truly honored that I can help you all to make it a bit easier, with better understanding for your own skills to grow! 🥰🌹🌹✨
      Cheers kelly! I’ll see you soon! 👋🏽 Robin 🌹✨✨

      Hi Jordan! ✨💫 OMG…Wow!!🌹✨✨ That is amazing to hear! 😆 I can’t tell you how honored I am to hear that…it makes me just about tear up!😭😭🌹 When I left the museum that I was teaching at, 10 years ago, it nearly killed all my passion for glass and I was left severely depressed for a very long time. It still hurts to think about it…. But this outlet has allowed me time to heal some of those feelings and for that I am forever grateful! 🌹✨ It also helps to know you are all out there!….learning and enjoying this amazing material with me!! Robin, I am new to lampworking and I love your videos so much! I'm learning everything just by watching them over and over and then trying the techniques.
    If you'd ever be willing at any point to add more 101 videos, I would love to see one on making twisties, and one on applying stringer.

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Ramona! 🌹✨ I’m so glad you have been enjoying the demos! 🤗 If you look in the playlist section there are the Black and White Volumes….there is a demo in there called Scrolling Lines that might help with stringer work! 😃🌹 there is also one called A Little Twisted Cane that is in the Everything Flameworking playlist.. I think it’s close to the bottom. It should definitely help you with twisties! I have always called them twisted cane…😂🙏🏽 Most of the techniques in the black and white volumes are 101 based and I cover more methods that great for beginners! …they are just poorly organized…😵‍💫 However, I will make sure to address ‘twisties’ and stringer work somewhere in an upcoming demo! I hope this helps!! 🌹🌹🌹 Thanks so much for your comment and sharing…I’m honored to share with you!! 🌹✨✨✨Cheers - Robin

    Robin thank you so much for your lampworking series. I have been lampworking for about 3 years and i discovered you early on in my journey. Your demos are such an inspiration. You have taught me so much!! I could write pages and pages of the reasons why i love your demos, but lots of others have covered this too. I just want to say thank you and i appreciate you so much. I can't wait to see what you do next! Much love to you💜💜💜💜💜

      Hi Clare! 😃👋🏽 Awe!! Thank you so much!! It makes me so happy to have people to demo for again! 🥰 I’m glad you found SR early on….I think the production quality has gotten better and better. 💫🌹 I wanted this series to help artist like you understand flameworking from the beginning…as a beginner or intermediate student. The first 10 or 11 demos were what I would usually teach in an ‘in person’ 10 week class, way back when I had a studio to teach in. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to hear that you and others have had success in their own work from watching these demos! 🥰🌹 Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! I really appreciate your kind words and support!!✨🌹 See you soon! Take Care and Cheers- Robin 🖤🌈💫

    Wow, that's a big honker of a bead. Gorgeous. I have a bunch of silver glass but haven't messed with them. I think it's cause they're expensive and I don't want to mess it up. This looks like something I could definitely do though. I've loved learning from you. I know there's a good chunk of time commitment to make these videos. We truly appreciate you doing these for us. Thanks so much.

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol Linda, it is a big honkin bead! 😂 👍🏽 And that is why my work is focused more on focal beads! 😅 The key is to get the inner colors as thin as possible so it doesn’t get massive…. And It has always been hard for me to scale down, lol! ✨✨ You should definitely try this one with with your silver glass…. The reactions with the black and silver foil are amazing and I hope it will be for you to! I used about a quarter lbs. (8 rods?) of the Skiron to get to this recipe….it was worth the time exploring with it! But now I have 1 rod left and need more😩🌹✨
      I have enjoyed working on the 101 series (and all demos) so much! It is time consuming though….like this is all I do! But it has been so worth it and I will definitely be back to expand the collection soon!😁✨Big Hugs to you, Linda!

    Hey, Robin. There is a technique where a bead has a wave in it that looks like the throat of a blue wale. I read somewhere that it was actually the inspiration for this bead. I don’t know if a special tool is used. I see it a lot done with triton encased with clear, probably zephyr. It almost looks like it was done with a comb. Does that make sense? Lol. Hope you are well.

    Hi Robin, I made this bead last night and am really happy with the result! It is really beautiful! I was only able to put 2 layers of encasement on it because my bead release broke. I was wondering if you tried any of the other DH striking glasses. I only ever used Skiron once before and it didn't turn out very nice so I avoided it but I was thrilled with the way it looks on this bead! Thanks for another great tutorial!!

      I made another one last night using Luna 3 and copper leaf (I ran out of silver foil) and it also turned out very pretty! I don't think I ever used Luna 3 before but must have thought it was pretty on the DH website and it is really a gorgeous glass.@@scottwoodresearch

    Cool ring! Do you have a video for scroll work? Im trying that out right now, especially where its left raised and not melted all the way in. It always helps me if i watch you do it first, but i dont see one.

      Hello Kevin! ✨🌹 I do have one with scroll work…check out the Black & White playlist. Volume 18!
      I’m not an expert at scrollwork…but it’s a good place to start. 🤗 So glad you are enjoying the demos! Cheers- Robin 👋🏽✨🌈

    Hey I'd like to try this at home and I was just wondering if the second color has to be double helix to get this effect? Will it work like this with any color over silver foil?

      Hello Hello! 😂👋🏽 This is a wonderful technique for any transparent colors. But…. you will only get this specific rainbow effect with the double helix colors that are high in silver….( as far as I know)
      But definitely try it with any transparent color….it always looks amazing! I hope this helps!
      Cheers- Robin 🥰🌹✨✨✨

      Hi Morgan! 😃👋🏽 I have made some cartoony owls before 😅 Are you looking for it as a bead or off-Mandrel? Let me know and I’ll add it to the list…. could be lots of fun! Great idea! 🌈 Cheers- Robin 🌹✨🌹
