I have an apple tree that has been in my yard since I was a kid. It is now hollow and dying. I’m going to cut it down in the next several days. You just gave me an idea for the pieces of the “hollow”. I hope my kids remember those two apple trees when they look at what I’ve hopefully created. THANKS, JIM. By the way “DESIGNER EPOXY”.
Great idea, thanks!
I have to agree that the blue globe really does make the piece. As for the walnut, what can be said, it is the king of woods, at least North American woods. Absolutely love the look as it glows in the dark. Another beautiful piece to add to your already impressive resume.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
Liked it a lot, Nice looking vase.
Have you ever considered branding your signature@@SpragueWoodturning
I couldn't help but notice, and at first had to rewind when he said. "I'm gonna open the door to the gradge gr-a-d-g-e?" I wish I had one as nice as his with the tools to boot! This is amazing and cool!
😂 Thanks so much!
That is so beautiful. $750-$1200 seems fair. Probably have that for a lifetime
Thanks!
Another favorite ❤
Tacos, bourbon ,and Jim Sprague on a Friday evening. A good time.
Same here, just not with tacos & bourbon! Love Friday nights for a dose of Jim Sprague creativity!
Another lovely piece! Watching you work is a weekly treat for me.
🤣 Tacos and bourbon sounds great! Thanks!
The black walnut really makes this piece. Another beautiful solar system.❤❤
Thanks so much!
The flow in the dark affect is so fun to watch! I especially love the globe that looks like a total eclipse.
Thank you very much!
The king of wood in space. You can't go wrong. Great piece, love the space theme!
Thanks a bunch!
Your vase is amazing. The large blue globe looks like it has a bulls head in it, Taurus! Great work.
Thank you very much!
An addition to the Galaxy Far Away collection. Soon you will have your own universe thanks to Designer Epoxy
I hope so! Lol. Thank you very much!
Lol I don't think Mr. Sprague can make 100 million spheres. That's ok. It would be fun to try,!
@@judithfairchild8620 😂😂😂
As an astronomy buff, you combining two things I like..planets & woodworking? Bravo Jim! Home run🙂. Beautiful job, I quite like it.
Thank you very much!
I love the blue hypershift! Really great concept. Yes I love the large blue planet but also the green one with the red top was very interesting. I dont think you'd ever be bored looking at this piece...always some new detail to see. Some of the glow in the dark globes look like opal. Great work Jim😊BTW the walnut is so beautiful
I totally agree! Thanks so much!
My favorite galaxy themed project so far. In response to some of your comments on last week, I also prefer projects with more wood, but you can't make a lamp shade that doesn't let light out either! As always thank you, love the channel.
Cool, thanks!
Another AWESOME solar system piece! You are right, the blue globe is gorgeous! The pink inside the green looks really cool, especially when you had the black light on! Psychedelic 😵💫
Thanks so much!
The algorithm brought me here, right now I'm not able to watch a full length video but I wanted to say the thumbnail is gorgeous, and I like your goatee.
Welcome! Thanks!
Beautiful piece. Love the blues also. After green blue is my next favorite. Must be that dang Irish showing through.😁
Yes, lol. ☘️☘️
Now that's a really cool looking Vase. Yes the big blue globe looks like a watery planet and some of the others look like space balls of some kind. You have just the right amount of wood and of course it's walnut. Nice job.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎🤓
Thanks so much!
I was delayed watching your "shade" vid because I had driven from SD to Arkansas to watch the eclipse! 😉. Your planetary vase is perfect for right now. It is beautiful!
Hope you got to enjoy the eclipse! Thanks so much!
Lefties of the World Unite! Granted, we represent only 10-12% of the world's population, but still! And let's not even begin to talk about the blight of mosquitoes! Sucking all the fun out of Springtime - the little monsters! But, once again Jim, you overcome all obstacles to create a BEAUTIFUL piece! I continue to be amazed how you take random and rough pieces and create a work of ART! Of course using the King of North American Hardwoods didn't hurt!! (I liked the Eclipse footage. We didn't see the dramatic change here on the Mid Atlantic Coast that others did. And the I thought the last one was more dramatic too!) Thanks again!!
It certainly was, thanks!
Yup, as fellow left hander, I feel his pain. The thing is when do try things that are made for left handers they feel foreign. LOL
It's really neat One planet with 3 moons. The colors with the hyper shift is just awesome.
Thanks so much!
My husband & I watch you all the time but on tv always like your content . Gos luck with your houses selling and starting another adventure for you and family . God Bless you and yours always
Thanks so much!!
I was lucky enough to live the line of totality during the eclipse here in Ohio, and I was beginning to wonder if I was going to be disappointed and then when it was at the stage of totality it was absolutely incredible. Suffice to say the total eclipse was far and beyond what I saw when it was only at partial.
Lucky for sure! Thanks
The colours work perfectly with the black "space" which in turn enhances the black walnut. Another beautiful piece!!
Just fantastic!! Always love the walnut. Thanks Jim.
Thanks so much!
I think this is one of my favorites!
Excellent job, Jim!!!
Thanks so much!
That blue globe really does make the piece. When the lights are on, it does look like a planet. But in the dark, it looks like a pulsar (at least, I think that's what they're called)!
Thanks so much!
The final shots are always stunning! I love the look of the light shining inside of it. Thanks for always sharing your process with us, Jim. 😄
You are so welcome!
You nailed the colours, like the hyper shift. Great job, that looks awesome . You out did yourself this time. Designer Epoxy
Thank you! Cheers!
With all the lovely detail in the piece, I love the elegant, simple shape. The globes are a favorite of mine. I was impressed with your pouring technique into the small globe molds - you have a fine, steady hand!
Thank you so much!
Love the piece. I saw an egg under a planet waiting to hatch. I especially love the black on the inside. Looks like peering into a supernova. Great job once again. 👍
Thanks so much!
The wife and I continue to love this space series. Our wedding was at a planetarium and space themed, so we probably shouldn’t be surprised at how much we love what you’re doing with these. As always, amazed at the pours you’re able to produce with the materials from designer epoxy.
That is awesome! Thanks
Absolutely stunning, I love black walnut, it's such a beautiful wood, and the hyper-shift in the resin is just incredible, I love the glow in the dark planets, they're so cool. Beautiful work Jim
Thanks so much!
Oh my, sweet looking piece! Love, love, love the beauty of the Space form. The blue planet is awesome! TY Jim!
Glad you like it! Thanks so much!
My top 5 list now has a new leader!!! For me and my love of all things outer space and star trek, wars, etc...I have to say this one tugs at my heart strings. I just absolutely love the idea and execution. You are a true artist and I appreciate your work so very much!! Thanks Jim!! Designer Epoxy
Hadn't thought about that connection to space. I wonder how many of us got hooked on space because of that show. We faithfully watched it every week.
Wow! Thanks so much!
This vase could Easily be your most beautiful work to date! Bravo!
Thank you very much!
This is my favourite episode in you're planet series - what a beautiful vase.
Thanks so much!
I like sci-fi movies so this piece is a favorite already. I feel better now that I got my Sprague fix. The designer epoxy did well in that depth.
Awesome! Thanks so much! 😂
Good morning everyone. Get a hot cup of something and get ready.😁
Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks
The Walnut is the real stand out in this piece . Nice turn Jim. Designer Epoxy.
Thanks 👍
Great job once again Jim. Designer Epoxy must love you.
I hope so, hahaha. Thank you very much!

I am at a loss for words .this is absolutly stunning . I love every thing about this one. To me this one should be in a artisan museum. Amazing. somewhere.
Wow! Thank you very much!
I think you consistently do the most interesting turns on the tube and I pass them on.
Oh, Designer Epoxy.
Great piece,
Lee
Oh, enjoyed the demold.
Wow! Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
This is so beautiful Jim, how I wish I could afford your work! Glad Designer Epoxy is still supporting you!
Thank you very much!
I LOVE it!!!
The simple line of the vase makes the planets shine!!
Yeah, the blue sphere is the best!
Thanks so much!
Love the walnut. The blue planet is my favorite as well. Keep up the great content.

Wow such a beaut I’m almost speechless at the way it looks lit up from the inside!
They keep getting better and better!!
Thank you so much!
Holy Moly that is wonderful. Love the blue earth and the three moons.
Me too! Thanks!
Really puts me in the mind of, and I absolutely mean this as a compliment, something you might see airbrushed on the side of a van.
Absolutely, thanks
JEEZUSSSS!!!! You're gonna make me wait another minute????? Let's kick the tires and light the fires. This one looks like it'll be fun to watch.
Good things come to those who wait, haha. Thank you very much!
Howardnd9043 please don't use the name of the Lord like that
Oh I quite like this one! The globes always make for fun projects.
Thanks so much!
Designer Epoxy. I do believe this is my favorite piece. Amazing space themed beauty.
Wow, thank you!
Hi Jim, as always beautiful work. I saw a Eclipse on one of the balls. Down near the bottom. Being you showed the Eclipse super cool. Here in Cork it was cloudy and raining. You could call it the Eclipse vase. You might like to keep it for your new house. Next Eclipse like this one is I think is 2099. I love it. Have a great weekend.
Thanks so much! Have a great weekend too!
My absolute favorite! DesignerEpoxy is great!
Thanks so much!
WOW that is an amazing vase. The orbs made me think of eclipse & fried egg lol. Each orb offered its own wow factor. You're an inspirational teacher.
Wow, thank you so much!
Designer epoxy! Your work is amazing! This piece is absolutely gorgeous
Thank you very much!
dESIGNER EPOXY
Thanks
Love it! The outer space theme lined up well with the eclipse! Haha
No intentional either, lol. Thanks
Beautiful but I am ready for your pieces that focus on the wood grain and type of wood. Using complimentary resin colors. Love watching every week!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Designer Epoxy is amazing! I truly love watching you work- here in Australia the timing can be off & I’m asleep already unfortunately but I always watch all the way through- as a qualified jeweller I have so much respect for your work & your creative “eye” which isn’t something most people are blessed with as I’m sure I don’t have to tell you! I love the unreal glow of the spheres & it does make me think of 👽’s. Thank you so much for sharing what you create! 😎♥️✌️
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
Designer epoxy. Love the planets.
Thank you very much!
Omg you can’t beat hyper shift and walnut! Bootiful once again!
Thanks so much!
Another beautiful creation with a celestial theme. Love the blue orb, but in keeping with the eclipse, the pinkish / white orb is very interesting also. Great job.
As always, thanks for sharing.
Designer epoxy
Thank you so much!
Designer Epoxy!
You do some AMAZING work!! Absolutely beautiful ❤ I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful creations!
Thank you so much!
Finally! Lotsa wood and some epoxy.😂

Love the walnut and the blue globe is very striking, another one out of this world Jim. Designer Epoxy is so versatile. Look forward to what next week has in store..!!!
Thank you very much!
Yet again, another beautiful creation! So in love with the walnut! ❤️
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the two tone globes and the hyper shift the best. Nice job.
Thanks so much!
"Yeah, that looks like a...looks like a moon."
"That's not a moon! That's a battle-station!"
LOL, sorry, I couldn't resist. The opportunity just presented itself to make a movie reference, and I took it. All joking aside, that turned out beautifully. I love the black walnut, and the blue with hypershift is a wonderful complement. I like the globes, and the fact that some glow in the dark is cool!
Designer Epoxy
lol, thank you very much!
Love this piece! I like how the grain of the wood almost looks like the rings around a planet, and the globes look like moons
Thanks so much!
It really is out of this world. I'm sure I could study the piece for an hour and still not see all of the detail. Fabulous job.
Thank you very much!
That was lovely! I'm not going to lie... I do steal some of your techniques. They absolutely work and make turning more efficient. Thank you Jim.
Happy to help! Thanks so much!
Great piece. When you say Kingston Ontario I think about The Tragically Hip and then I have to play Fully Completely for the neighbors. Awesome Content Jim.
Rock on! Love the Hip! Thanks so much!
Try using compressed air to free your casting, like you do when freeing stuck buckets. Loved the vid and the turning. Great composition, love the planet look.
Oh wow, another gorgeous piece! 😍 I think the blue/purple/green hypershift is my favorite. When added to the black pearl, what a combination. I can't wait to see what's coming up next, and I definitely do not want to miss the future hypershift project. Thank you so much for sharing your craft with us. ☺️🙏
Thanks so much for watching!
Designer Epoxy
Awesome walnut and epoxy balls. I really like the black epoxy and hyper shift look.
Thank you very much!
Truly another Sprague spectacular!!!!! Really like the orbs and the effect they give to the piece. Designer Epoxy.
Wow, thank you!
That's really COOL!!! Thanks for bringing me along
Thank you for watching!
Incredible! I love how dark the piece is - as in, the resin base and the wood - it makes the globes stand out even more
Thanks so much!
Jim, all I can say is Wow. Another beautiful piece of art. When you turned off the lights to show the glow spheres you put in the piece, it might have been the red one. It reminded me of the eclipse we just had. Nicely done.
Thank you very much!
Wow Jim another great project, those globes and the walnut really look great together
Thanks so much!
Holy crap... Absolutely "Mind-Bendingly Beautiful" 😍🙌😘
Thanks so much!
What a great use of Designer Epoxy and globes. Love the project as it turned out really cool.
Thanks so much!
😮 Wow out of this world. The blue is the best part definitely. The small globes in the small gap at top between the walnut add another layer of interest as well. 🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
I am not a turner, I will never be able to be one. But every since I've found your channel, I've never missed a video on TH-cam. I love to see what you make each week and I really appreciate your talent. I've gone through your videos from the beginning and I must say that I marvel at how you keep coming up with new and unique ideas. I hope you enjoy creating these wonderful pieces as much as I enjoy watching them come to life in your hands. This week's piece was truly beautiful.
Designer Epoxy

Designer Epoxy absolutely beautiful Jim
Thank you very much!
Love it, love it, love it! The planets series are my favorites; the colors are amazing 😊
Designer Epoxy
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome. The black walnut and the hypershift "space" work great together. Thank you. Looks like a Bulls head on the blue planet to me. The cracks and other "defects" in the walnut make it special.
Thanks so much!
The blue globe is my favorite too. It’s really a cool piece. Designer Epoxy.
Thank you very much!
It's beautiful Jim, I'd not noticed the scary face lol, It would be amazing to be able buy one of your pieces 👍 xxx
