Lots of comments about why I didn’t use my vacuum chamber and the reason why I didn’t use it this time is because I was worried about the resin starting to cure before getting it into the fridge. Jim

I definitely love hearing your thought process. It lifts your video up from "look at this cool thing I made", to "look at this cool thing I made, and this is why it looks like this". Every piece of wood is different, and you never know exactly what it's like or how it's going to behave until you start turning, so you explaining what you're doing and why is a revelation, and all part of it.

Female, senior with a love of trees !! That when a tree is cut down or falls, the wood can be turned into such beautiful and fascinating things delights me. Ha v e just found your videos have been watching it and others with delight. Have always liked woodland it's grain, have done some very amateur carving for fun and pleasure. To heat you explain what you are doing is extremely interesting. While it may help people who do wood turning it is inspiring to me, I'm amazed at the beautiful things that can be made. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

I come to every video of yours specifically to hear your thought process on the design. Most turning channels are focused on technique - which definitely has it's place, but learning how to approach a design is just as important (if not more so).

I don’t woodturn. I don’t plan on ever learning to woodturn. Woodturning is not a skill I plan on adding to my skillset. But I love watching and listening to your thought process. I draw and paint. Hearing other artists and crafters from different industries go through their creative processes help me get a grip on my own passion and desires and be more realistic about what I want to create and how I want to create it. Even terms you use that have NOTHING to do with drawing and painting gives me an idea of what you’re going for so that I can better understand your direction. You’re not just helping woodturners! Keep doing what you’re doing! I love watching and hearing you!

Y The way you sharing your thoughts with us is explaining so many different aspects of planning the final shape... also, you are mentioning problems & issues that you are finding. You are letting us know about problems you encountered in the past & WHY the various project(s) wouldn't work.
Explaining things as you go is treating the viewers as apprentices- your knowledge is worth it's weight in GOLD!
I have watched literally HUNDREDS of videos in countless areas... jewelry making, painting ocean scenes, carving & much more. YOU are very thorough in your videos- it isn't about making a perfect video... it is about making GOOD VIDEOS, that will help people- for people that are just starting to do this type of project, to others that are trying more challenging/ advanced projects. Your style fits everyone!
PLEAE, PLEASE don't change how you are doing your videos!
It is important that people learn about the many different aspects of choosing the wood, to deciding which angle to create the piece, and know that there might be some issues with some areas that MUST be addressed.
Watching your videos is helping me to decide whether this type of craft is something I want to do, and what is involved... but even if I don't, your videos are interesting, informative & REAL. You have an honest to God passion for creating gorgeous works of art. You are getting people started in this art form, that might otherwise say "well, I don't know if I have what it takes, or if I can succeed"- they watch your videos, and see you showing everyone that it IS POSSIBLE. You aren't 'sugar coating' the project you are working on. It is a real, down-to-earth idea that you had visions of. In other words, it is crafting at its finest!
I have had a mini lathe for a number of years, sitting in my closet... because if YOU, I have decided I want to make resin works of art, but on a smaller scale. Thank you, for showing me what is involved & how BEAUTIFUL a finished project can be. You have helped me a lot!

I am glad you did not put in that spacer. I absolutely love this effect. It is one of my favorites by far, and It’s even more rare. I can’t get over how beautiful it is. The bubbles really do add and helping it look like it’s a cave in the ocean.
I love it when you think out loud. I love to see how you work everything out. It makes me feel more a part of what you’re doing. And heaven knows I will never do this by myself, so I love being a part of it.

I can improve on an idea or take something and change it up to make it my own but to just see something in my head that I can put down on paper, I just can’t do. Ahhhh! This is absolutely GORGEOUS! I love how you orientated the wood piece so that the windows are in the position that they are. Definitely one of my favorite pieces! Also, to echo others here, I love hearing your thought process. As an artist myself, I learn from other artists; and watching and hearing about the creative and technical processes are vital! I know that a couple of other makers here on TH-cam have made second "ASMR" type channels where there's no talking, and just the shop noises and whatnot. Some people do prefer that, but I think most people enjoy hearing you talk about what's going on. Anyway, keep up the great work!

from one maker to another (full time potter but not yootoober), if it helps you to verbalise what's in your head, then definitely do it. Hearing someone talk through their process is always something that I enjoy. I do it with my husband to crystallise a new idea I have, to cut through the chaos in my adhd brain.
