All doesn't got to plan and I will show you how to work around these issues if you ever encounter them. Thanks for watching and please share with your friends!

It is amazing how resin/epoxy has changed woodworking to make wood that would have been considered to be junk or firewood now to be extremely desirable and makes some of the most beautiful and fascinatingly stunning pieces. Love it. Electric Purple Haze.
Thank you very much!
😊
Good Morning to all. Getting my cup of tea and a slice of pineapple zucchini bread ready to go.
Hmm, sounds yummy 🃏✌️
If you weren’t so far away, I’d drop by for a cuppa and bring a delectable banana bread along to trade. Pineapple-zucchini sounds delicious!
Thank you very much!
Easy to make.😋
I would take that trade.👍
I laughed out loud at your little dance! I love how you share your personality with us. Beautiful pieces, as always!
😊 thank you
Вчера ночью смотрела это видео, сегодня утром опять.. Шишечки выглядят как маленькие елочки, сиреневый цвет в сочетании с цветом дерева так красиво смотрится❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
Jim your struggles getting your casting out of the bucket is always so entertaining 😂😂😂😂
Enjoy, lol. Thanks
Jim ,that is such a beautiful set of lidded bowls, the lilac wood was so gorgeous the pine cones added the next amazing element, then you used the purple colour and added just the right amount of white to turn the colour into the beautiful dark lilac shade. The way the resin settled among the pine cones really did indeed look to me as if they were lilac flowers. Truly an amazing piece of art, thank you for sharing this with us,loads of love to you and yours ,take care stay safe.😘😘💖💖🙏🙏
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
Absolutely love the lilac and the white was perfect
The Feast of the Owls. Lovely!
Thank you very much!
A couple rough moments there today. The piece is stunning. But again very informative, sets viewers up for all possibilities. I'm loving the changes of views you are giving. Adds alot to our enjoyment, what with the dancing!😂 Thanks again Jim
Glad you enjoyed it! 🕺🕺
You know it's Friday when you get the notification! Thank jeebus. Can't wait for 8am! Time to get the coffee brewing and the bagel toasting.
Excellent way to watch.
Thank you very much!
I love the pinecones in this piece. They look like little trees. Another great piece of art!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hello from Edmonton. Nothin better than Friday morning coffee with Jim. What an amazing piece.
Morning! Thanks 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Oh my, it is "Far Out, man" lol we are showing our age. Jim, these turned out STUNNING!!!!!!!
Ha ha! Thanks
It's great, my friend, I wish to learn this work, but unfortunately, I live in Iran and as a 34-year-old girl, I don't have the necessary financial conditions to visit the course and buy the device, but I really want to be able to work to pay for my family. But life is very difficult in Iran. I enjoyed the beautiful work you did. Well done
😔it'll be ok I'm sorry to hear tht but with God ALL things are possible Queen!!
And 34 year old WOMAN not girl sweetheart 😊
@@ashleyjones3413 Yes, a woman, but my English is weak
Those are beautiful! I never knew making a bowl out of those items even existed!
Thank you so much!
My favorite color 🥰🥰💟💟💜💜 I think this is by far my favorite of all the pieces you've made. 💯 I get winded just going up and down 13 steps times 3 loads of wash every other week but, then again in my mid 70's I'm out of shape. 😊😊 Please use these colors on another piece, just beautiful! 🥰😍😍🥰
I sure will, thanks 😊
My wife really liked the pine cones and the purple colors!
Thanks! Glad she liked it!
WOW WHAT AN UNUSUAL BUT BEAUTIFUL BOWL!!
Thanks so much!
I so appreciate your narration. I love to know what you're doing and using each step of the way, and so many other turners do not share that. Beautiful work!
You are so welcome! Thanks
Stunning pieces. I LOVE the way the pieces are so similar and yet individual. You are a true artist, with an eye for detail that sets your work apart and above others. Your display at the end truly shows just how spectacular these pieces are with the light from the inside making their beauty explode dramatically! Thank you again for sharing your talent. The person that commissioned these pieces is very fortunate.
Thank you so much!
The first fight in quite a while ......
2 fights in one video ..... that saw was a bonus 😂
Dance lessons too? ....... WOW
Spectacular pieces.
That’s right, pay attention, haha. Thanks
What a mesmerizing pair of bowls, I loved watching the bucket removal lol
Thank you very much!
An outstanding pieces of art sir. Love the look of the Lilac with the pine cones. A beautiful set indeed. The color with the white worked out great. Thank you for all your hard work, and thank you for sharing this post with us.🌿 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🕊
Thank you kindly!
Gorgeous bowls!!! 😊 Lilac has amazing character. Also enjoying the wide shots. It's very informative for seeing your turning technique. And of course, your dance moves 😆 Cheers.
Thanks so much! 😊🕺🕺
Wowsers, I remember all those '60s phrases like farm out, outa state, gravy!
Very interesting pieces. The lilac wood and pine cones work well together and the smaller bowl came out better than many of your cored bowls do.
Absolutely, thanks.
Absolutely stunning piece of work! Wood & resin work fantastically together 💜💜🇬🇧
Thanks so much 😊
Trabalho esplêndido. Lindas tigelas. Tudo maravilhoso. ❤
Wow, what an absolutely fantastic piece!!! This is definitely one of my favorite pieces you've ever done! I love that you were able to get two lidded bowls out of on piece! Just brilliant, as always! ❤
Thank you so much!
They both turned out totally groovy, man! ♥️♥️♥️
Designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
I have only built one thing in my life, so I totally enjoyed watching your work. I appreciated that you showed errors too! You remind me of my late brother. You're wonderful. I'll watch again!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
You got me again. There I was just surfing and came across you again. Seeing what you must be really liberating. Watching as you turn your thoughts, by way of a time served skill and process into such beautiful objects must make your day seem so rewarding. I bet you can't wait to get up in the morning and get to it. A lot guys never get to find the secret of being happy, just doing what you love to do. Keep well.
I love what I do! Thanks
This is a beautiful set of bowls. The hollow lilac is very unique and the color throughout the wood makes for some really neat images on the bowls. You are right and I agree about the pine cones, I like them, too, and I think they have their own unique images to add to the pieces you make. You have done another good video, thanks for sharing your art with us!
Thank you so much 😀
Wow just the thumbnail alone got my attention . Love Lilacs
Thank you very much!
The dancing woodturner! Love it! i'm sure your customer will be thrilled with this lovely piece. I think some gold in the mix would have been nice, too.
Thank you very much!
Lovely set. Love how the lids match the bowls. Really like how the white high lights the areas of the pine cones and the lids. Love the color.
Thanks so much! 😊
Purple is my favourite colour. I must have all pieces. Whole set is spectacular. Just beautiful. As always you’re genius at making such awesome pieces. Love them all.
Thank you so much!
Very Nice Bowl !I Love The Colors! With The Designer Epoxy Paint!
Thank you! Cheers!
Once again we love it. Wasn't to sure about the color choice (not really a purple person) but once it was finished Cindy told me not to judge it by the color until it's finished. Yes dear.
Lol. Thank you very much!
This is one of the most amazing sets I've ever seen. Perfect blend of wood and Epoxy, grains and colors.
Wow, thank you!
Very nice. Never thought the Lilac you started with could turn out so nice.
Designer Epoxy
Thank you! Cheers!
First of all, this is not flirting. I'm way too old for you. I know you watch other turners. Don't you think that so many of them could benefit from your experience.
Jim, another of your master turnings! thanks
Many thanks!
This maybe the best bowl yet, and love the purple!
Thank you very much!
Groovy, baby! ;) Another beautiful project!! Great idea to add the pinecones as a space filler and amazing result of the rotten lilac infused with the epoxy. Also, another great color combination. It would be interesting to see if the color choices for your weekly projects track with Designer Epoxy's color sales the week after you put out the video.
I think they do see an increase in certain colors after some videos. Thanks
Stunning piece!
So glad you were able to utilize so much of the casting! I would’ve been a shame to lose it. The customer is sure to be ecstatic with it! Totally groovy and your dance was very cute!
Thank you very much! 🕺🕺
Really like the look of these bowls with the end grain. The cones give a distinctive appearance. She will be very happy!
Designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
I’ve never seen anyone turn lilac before, the purple designer epoxy makes it pop.
It sure does, thanks!
WOW! The two lidded bowls are stunning. Awesome mix of resin colour and timber. Love your groovy moves. Fantastic workmanship Jim 💜💛
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful bowl set! Love the purple ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Pine cones will Always Rock. Getter Duuuun.
Thank you very much!
OMG that's stunning. The pine cones look like seagulls braking away from trees
It does! Thanks
I am so happy you got several pieces with this very unique design, definitely a one-of-a-kind set. I enjoyed watching as usual, Thanks.
Thank you so much!
Nicely planned and executed! That's a beautiful set and I'm sure the customer is going to love it :)
She does, thanks!
I watched this with my dad and when you showed what happened to the lid, I turned to my dad and said watch, he's not leaving it like that, nope he's a perfectionist like you, the next clip will be either the fixed lid or him fixing it. And I was correct! 😂 It's a good thing. You are a master at your craft and a perfectionist and just can't let things pass that aren't the best of your ability and I respect that very much! My dad is the same. And it's a beautiful piece! I love when they have lids! That wood is so neat too. I've learned a ton about wood from you, and I basically knew nothing, or very little about wood so thank you so much!
Great! Thank you very much!
Absolutely fantastic. You keep surpassing yourself.
Thank you very much!
First to comment! Can't wait for the video!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Lovely job Jim. Love how symmetrical it is with the lilac and the pine cones. I really love the black grain lines in the timber that just pops. Thanks for the advice on the resin last week and thanks for another amazing show, take care.
Thanks so much!
designer epoxy - It was psychedelic watching the circles spin around while using the lathe!! Another awesome piece!!
Thank you very much!
the pinecones look like birds in flight I wanted to add that. They looked. awesome!
I think so too! Thanks
I always love watching the process. Cool that you're going to do something with the shavings. I've been wondering what became of them and if you ever reused them in your work. Love the happy dance. Those lids could almost be used as platters. Love the final results. Thanks so much for sharing your time and talents. Blessings on you & yours.
Thanks so much! 😊
Absolutely stunningly gorgeous Jim. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Take great care ❤️
Thank you! You too!
Idea to try:
> A funnel attached to the top of a straw
> Fill with the white
> Insert to bottom of purple then release/ add white to funnel as you pull upward.
> This way you can put the amount you want where you want, in puddles, streaks, swirls
> then stir a bit if desired
Good idea, thanks!
I really like when you zoom out to full body and show posture, safety gear and all of the resin strings. You love this combo because yellow and purple are opposites on the color wheel. Others are blue and orange and red and green.
Thank you very much!
So beautiful! I hope your customer loves it I sure would!
I hope so too! Thanks very much!
One of the wood pieces on the smaller lid, looks like a smiley face with two purple teeth. Very cute. Gorgeous again. God bless ❤
Thank you very much!
Looks like a fidget spinner. very cool. The white paint coated the pine cones to make it look like snow settling in the pine cone layers. Loved it!
Thanks so much!
As always an OUTSTANDING creation! Purple n Gold ... Minnesota Vikings!
Lol. Thank you very much!
I'm impressed by how well the pinecones worked. I see why you like them so much.
Thanks
Such a beautiful set of lidded bowls. Absolutely gorgeous
Thanks so much!
@@SpragueWoodturning You’re very welcome.
You Crack me up Jim. What a great concept of using hollowed wood pieces makes the resin groovy lol. Beautiful project I'm sure the client will love this, I do
Thank you very much!
Im a 57 year old retired machinist
I would be very proud to put out something that kool
Great job 👏 👍
Thank you very much!
Those really made me dizzy when you put the finish on them. Very 70s indeed. Like the color, makes the Liylock look good. 👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
Thank you very much!
A
All I can say is WOW. BEAUTIFUL.
Thank you very much!
When you use resin no wood goes to waste. Things that used to be trash now become treasure or art. This came out great.
Thank you very much!
Gasp! That’s so pretty! I love lilacs. I want to be buried under a lilac tree. I agree that it has a 70’s vibe. Designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
like the dance and the bowl is AWESOME
Thank you very much!
Great project this week. I love how the resin filled the missing rings of the Lilac
Thank you very much!
My mother loved the color purple. She would have craved those!
Thank you very much!
I love the patterns in the wood. So many ideas for "scrap wood"
Thank you very much!
You keep getting better and better.
Thank you very much!
I have to agree. its definantly got a 70's vibe going on there., I love the wood on this great work Jim , as always
Many thanks!
30 inches of vacuum will peel the skin and muscles from your bones in a 3 inch pipe with a storage tank big enough to handle that vacuum. It is the same as being 200 feet below the surface of the ocean in a submarine. Very impressive how powerful vacuum is. Thank you, Jim, for the part about color separation in casting. I turned away from trying to get to 80° and went off of thickness. My colors stayed separated after 30 hours. That was my 3rd attempt. Either way, all of the information you give us is amazing and also saving me a lot of money in the long run! Thank you!! Just in case........Designer Epoxy
Great, thanks!
Purple is my favorite color so this makes me happy 😊
Thanks so much!
Awesome job! You are about to convince me to start putting wood leftovers in a tub of resin instead of the fireplace!
Go for it! Thanks
This design is really cool with the use of thè lilac wood and pine cone fillers with purple and white resin. They really pop, and I love it when you create more than one piece at a time. These are truly beautiful!!
Thank you so much!
Love those bowls! That purple is so deep and the gold of the lilac wood with the white is outstanding!! That would be great bowls for a MN Vikings fan! Very cool commission! 😎
Thanks so much!
Another beautiful piece. I would agree that the purple was the best choice for the wood choice.
Thank you!
Wow! This bowl set is amazing! That Lilac wood is beautiful! I love it. The purple epoxy is the perfect color. Good man fixing that warped lid. That’s one of the things I like about you. You never let anything go if it’s not quality. Thank you. CR
Thank you very much!
I agree, that Crystal Purple is the perfect colour match for that wood. And I know you said that Crystal Purple and Laguna Blue are the most requested of Designer Epoxy pigments, but the Sapphire Blue ... *sigh* I freaking love that pigment! That lilac wood was excellent for that project. This is definitely a conversation piece!
Yes! Thank you again!
I keep saying insane so I need to find a new word but these pieces just keep getting wilder!
I love the way the broken up wood turned out with the resin -- just super neat. Never thought of lilac as a wood for working -- but that was an experiment that turned out really well!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful! I have a purple lava lamp, and the shapes of the resin - especially looking down on the lids and the inside of the bowls - reminds me of the lava lamp blobs. Definitely groovy!
Thank you very much!
Stunning piece Jim gives a second life to wood we would normally throw on the fire
Thanks so much!
Just looking at the thumbnail I know this piece will be perfect in my living room…
Thank you very much!
Magnificent finish & the pine cones make it bling.
Thank you very much!
As always the master at work. Nice job Mr Sprague.
Thank you kindly
Very psychedelic, man. Hehe. I think its a stunner. Groovy. The purple resin and yellow/honey colored wood are a great combo.
Anyway, thank you Jim, always good to see you. Take care.
Thanks a bunch!
Beautiful pieces. I think the core bowl actually is my favourite, just because of the ratio of wood to resin. But both are stunning. The way the wood seems to be outlined in black is a striking effect. Reminds me of comic book art.
Thank you very much!
i agree, those hollowed out logs made something special!!
designer epoxy
I agree! Thanks 😊
Wow is an understatement. Beautiful job Jim
Thanks so much!
i love when creators include things that don't go perfect. beautiful bowls.
Thank you! 😊
I am Groot! That is the thought the ‘face’ triggered in my mind. What beautiful pieces!! The light in the big bowl gives a spooky feeling. The white at the knob looks like a ghost now.
Yup, I see it. Thank you so much!
Wow - absolutely LOVE that purple! Does have that ghost effect...maybe I'm just feeling festive! Nice job!
Thank you so much!
Don't be trippin dude! It's an amazing creation with the lilac wood and deep cast epoxy resin in purple.
You continue to impress me with your skill and knowledge of the craft. 😎
Thank you very much!
No wonder that purple is a fan favourite - it's glorious. That wood was worrying me - will it fill? It is gorgeous. You have an excellent eye.
Thank you very much!
