    Having driven one, I loved it too. No repeat no understeer pushing on in Mid Wales. This has to be one of the fastest point to point cars on the road. I dont believe the exotics would catch it on a twisty UK A/B road. M cars forget it! You'd be upside down in a ditch or imprinted onto an incoming 40 tonner trying to stay with this. M5 AWD is to big and unwieldy to stay with it. The TTRS is a true pocket rocket IMO.

    TTRS all the way buddy, especially the mk3. I have owned a TTS and 2 RS’s now. Bought my new mk3 TTRS in November 2016, it’s such an all round good car. I loved my old mk2 TTRS, but the mk3 is another level.

    • @robinplampton9949
      @robinplampton9949 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@CarFocusedComing from a Mk3 TTS, I test drove the RS3 & TTRS back to back. Maybe because the TT has a lower seating position but the TTRS handled much better as well as being quicker no doubt due to the weight. The TT was overall a more refined package (better interior).
      Having bought and owned the TTRS for a year now, I only have two issues with the car, it really is too quick for UK roads (you get frustrated really quickly) and my wife who was against buying the car, now uses every excuse possible to get behind the wheel

    Why does everyone comment about the rear seats? If people need a car to carry multiple passengers, you don't go shopping for a 2 door coupe. As stated by your friend, those rear seats come in handy for small kids. Plus compared to other 2 coupes, the TT's have the more cargo loading space with those rear seats lowered. Also, the extra seats help lower the insurance premium. So, there's a method to madness. Good video, although I feel this was just a prelude to you getting a TTRS. : )

    Now the STronic/DSG has finally won you over 🤣....it's fantastic with power isn't it? 😁
    That 5 pot....its gotta be the one of the sweetest engine notes that can travel down an ear canal, mess with your brain and turn a human into a human smiler with a huge grin! 😁😁 (I reckon the NHS should buy one of these for people with depression and just take them out for a spin....they'll be smiling by the end of it 🤣🤣🤣....begsy the driver 😂!!)
    One day mate....one day, this will be my next one....(best start saving 🙄)
    Thanks for making my day...have been looking forward to this as much as you were looking forward to driving it!! 😁 Keep the content coming and don't get too swamped with other vehicles that your fantastic RS gets diluted with content. AWESOME as ever Gary....and dead chuffed for you that your subscribers are rising and rising....although I'm not surprised....because it's like I told you in your early days Fiesta ST days....you're THE BEST on TH-cam by a country mile!! 👍👍😁

You can buy a TTs mk 3 for 25K now.If you mapped that you would be getting at least 360bhp easy for half the price.Best option for the people who Cant afford a baby R8 like me.You can buy a mk2 RS for 19K when that’s mapped your getting 400bhp 😳 Great video mate.Mine drives the same,it’s so planted it’s un real.Do get drift in wet conditions when giving it the beans.

    Hi, nice video! I've a question, when the car is in comfort mode, is the exhaust silent as a normal car or it makes the formula 1 noise (which I like very much but only in xertain occasions😊)

    • @CarFocused
      @CarFocused  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! In comfort the exhaust valves are closed which makes it quieter. Also the car is naturally quieter on post 2018 cars due to the GPF’s fitted to the exhaust system.

  • @vomErsten
    @vomErsten 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the conundrum with the TTRS is that it requires about 15,000 USD in options to feel like something special, but then it's also 15,000 USD overpriced. At 80,000 USD, you can get a LOT of car with other brands; you can get an M2 Comp, Mustang GT350R, Corvette Z06, Camaro ZL1, Challenger Hellcat Widebody, Giulia Quadrifoglio, ATS-V, CTS-V....all of which will out-perform the TT RS and most of which will have superior driving dynamics. A lot of these also have the extra fun of being available with a stick. I keep having this battle in my mind because my S3 lease is up in 20 months and I'm entertaining the idea of a TTS or TTRS, but there are just so many alternatives that make more sense. Heck, even Audi's own RS5 becomes an option at $80,000.

    The 5 cylinder has a great exhaust note. The problem, for me at least, is that someone could pull up to you in the same shape car that costs 28K and you have just shelled out nearly 60K. So not enough exclusivity for the price point.

    If only they made the exterior more aggressive. By this I mean, went with wider wheels that don't looked tucked in, which also has the added benefit of having wider tires. Rear brake calipers and rotors that don't look anemic. The performance is there, but just wish they made it look more of the part exterior wise. I had the last gen TTRS with an APR stage 1 and MSS springs and it was awesome. I almost bought the new TTRS but I ended up picking up a Camaro 2SS 1LE for almost half the cost and while not quite as fast in a straight line, kills it in the corners. That was the biggest thing that bothers me about the TTRS, it is under tired (not for straight line as it has Quattro) but for handling limits. There is a decent difference between barely being abe to get 1g in the corners compared to 1.15 - 1.2G's I get stock in the 1LE.
