Thank for bringing this lovely review. As an TTRS 8J driver I like it because of alle the things you mentioned. With an exhaust its even better sounding so sporty.
I agree with the little rear discs. Could they fit nice big disc, but soften up the rear caliper piston bite to still keep the correct front to rear brake force distribution.
Great video Jason. Looking forward to seeing more reviews by you too! I wish Audi would put their staple 5 cylinder engines in their RS4 and RS5 rather than the somewhat mundane V6s, as a nod to their legendary RS2. I agree with calling the TT a coupe-type hatchback. I'd call a 2002 Mazda RX-7 a hatchback too
The car guys have never reviewed an Audi r8. This would be welcome to complete your range of knowledge on the Audi sport brand. You are making reference to this car against an rs6. The true reference for such a sports car is to compare it with an Audi r8. Just a thought. Super reviews as always. 😊
Enjoyed that video I’m a huge fan of a 5 cylinder 2.5 turbo engines you must try a mk2 focus RS500 or feel free to try my mountune mk3 RS before I replace it with something else which is why I’m very interested in this series of videos
If the car has not got the Magnetic Ride option then you don't have adaptive dampers - so you wont feel any difference in the ride between modes. Note you can have the sports exhaust without the Magnetic ride - lots of people assume if you've got the exhaust you've got the sports pack - not true - the dealers spec just the exhaust.... You should really try the RS3 - same performance, more practicality - still pricey but amazing
Robin, I think when Jason drove this, the roads he chose meant he would not notice the difference so much, the mag ride on soft is much more compliant, I have found the auto setting on the car a really good setting, it just seems to deal with it all.
Greetings from across the pond, I’m a big fan of your videos. I’m looking to get into my first sports car, was wondering what you might recommend for a novice? I’ve got it narrowed down to this TTRS, the 718, and the FType (V6). I’m leaning towards the Jag. I currently drive a GTI to give you some perspective. Thanks for any advice and keep up the great work!
Chris, this is my car, I have owned both a /MK1 RS3 and a MK2 RS3, realised I didn't need the practicality of the RS3 hence my move to the TT RS, feels such as different car, not really faster, just different somehow.
Adrian Livesey .Lovely car Adrian. Don’t think you can go wrong with that 5 Cylinder TFSI engine. My RS3 is the PFL so your car and the facelift RS3 has the lighter more powerful engine. Would imagine the TT Coupe is a bit lighter than the RS3 also👍👍👍
First RS3 was fast, but not much in it again my mates 2015 300hp 2015 S3, it just sounded better, the second RS3 was a different animal, much better all round, but really I came to realise I bought the wrong car as I didn't need a practical car anymore (wife has a Q3). I got lucky and managed to buy one of the last 2018 TT RS as there was only about 20 left for sale in the country. Got all the spec I wanted and some stuff I didn't want, but the deal was really good, so it was mine. It is a rocket ship against the old 365hp RS3 lighter and more HP!
Audi set up their cars for understeer? No I believe it’s to do with the position of the engine over and in front of the front axle which affects the weight distribution especially in cornering and then couple that with what’s a predominantly front wheel driven a lot of the time range of vehicles until drive is transferred to the rear. I don’t think they are aiming for bags of understeer mate ,it’s more of a consequence of the engineering. Good video though thumbs up 👍🏾
How is the turbolag if any? In all 911 video's I hear people talk about the (slight) turbolag, but never with any other brand, so it's hard to compare.
Nice review... its an incredible machine and as a owner now for a year I have to say its just perfect. You should have tried launch control... its epic and when putting the electronic stabilization into sport+ you can actually get 100% of the power to the rear wheels. I can take off and make the car go sideways especially in a corner. Making it feel like a rear wheel drive. Here is a short drone video of my ride: th-cam.com/video/Wdm0HEUKtFw/w-d-xo.html More vids on my channel... (including driving through tunnels etc)
Never been a fan of the TT personally, still has " that " image even though this is the rocketship version , that said the interior is superb , nobody beats an Audi interior for fit , finish and general styling , ( remember those ghastly baseball stitched seats on the old version Jason ? ) I also like the onboard tech , not that I would ever use any of it being of a certain age . The best thing about the car for me would be the engine sound, it's so reminiscent of the old 5 pot Quattro UR , just needs to spit some flames out of the back , like the old group B days . !!!
Another enjoyable video...although if I'm been completely honest I skipped through parts of it not because of Jason (who is always entertaining...) but because of the Car in question which is nothing special at all. Nobody would really give this car a second glance...now if you reviewed the Mitsubishi Evo"Tommi Makinen now that would have been interesting...it being just about as much a hot hatch as the Audi TT! As ever please keep up the interesting content guys!
You are a moron that know nothing about cars. This TT is like aventador in compact world. You can't compare it to shitty and old Lancer with shitty 4 cylinder engine.
Bring on the TOMMI - so good I bought a brand new one, got it taken off me and always promised myself another one. 10 years on I got another and I was right the 1st time round it's a v special car.....
To the guy in the video, the BEST way to show this cars performance is to use LAUNCH CONTROL, NOT FROM A ROLL!💯 The owner if this car needs to do his homework more.🤓
Audi RS badge says it all....wheels are nasty......they always ride hard......as for the Hot Hatch search Focus RS MK 1 / Williams Clio.........or both ?
This car is a ONE TRICK PONY!💯 0-60mph in 3.6sec ONLY with LAUNCH CONTROL!😂 0-60 4.6sec WITHOUT IT! The car has horrible turbo lag and corners like a front wheel drive car, I mean FAIL WHEEL DRIVE!💩
Absolutely love that dashboard.
Thank for bringing this lovely review. As an TTRS 8J driver I like it because of alle the things you mentioned. With an exhaust its even better sounding so sporty.
Frederik Leon Anlauf it really is a great car
I always like the look of the TT, but I had no idea the Quattro RS was such a monster. Great snarl from the exhaust. Fantastic! Great interior.
I've got a TTS (Mk 3) and to be honest that is more than quick enough. Sound of the RS is so much better though.
during the meanwhilst I’m sure it is, difficult to find places to access all that power tbh
I agree. I only have the 230bhp version but still rapid on public roads in all weathers and exhaust note is cool with pops on the up shifts.
Remap it for 400 pound and be pretty much RS power and torque
I agree with the little rear discs.
Could they fit nice big disc, but soften up the rear caliper piston bite to still keep the correct front to rear brake force distribution.
Bryan I don’t know Bryan but they do look weird.
A great review - thank you.

smilepermile thanks! I’m glad someone agrees with my hatchback thoughts😂
Great review, good excuse to get something different in your hot hatch search.
TheCarGuys, nice ride indeed! Cayman GTS review please.

It will be done
Great review video Jason, I had a MK1 TT 3.2 V6, really miss that car. Top job guys👍
I've had an adult 5"2" fit in the back. Also you'll only notice a difference in ride between comfort and dynamic if you have the magnetic ride option.
This car does have the mag ride option, the roads Jason used would not have shown a noticeable difference.
It actually sounds a little like the V10 :O
just went to an Audi track day with the TT RS and RS3. The RS3 kept up with it in all the acceleration tests and I can actually fit in the RS3.
pigs bladder I think all RS products are very similar in performance.
Circuit of the Americas
I found I have much more headroom in the TTRS
An RS3 certainly doesn’t keep up on the Nurburgring.
Enjoyed that video I’m a huge fan of a 5 cylinder 2.5 turbo engines you must try a mk2 focus RS500 or feel free to try my mountune mk3 RS before I replace it with something else which is why I’m very interested in this series of videos
Literally sounds like a V10 R8, I have no idea how they did that
Kai Prout me neither, and it’s not piped either.
5 cilinders always sounds like half a V10, because it is.
keesie75 🧐 so my M4 should sound like a 12cylinder?..
Well look at my channel, I have a few Audi 200 sound clips where you can hear the real oldschool 5 cilinder sound.
odd cylinder numbers sound similar between 5 and 10. it doesnt work with a 4 cyclinder as they are 4 stroke and it always sounds balanced

Robin H this has the Magnetic ride but I’m clearly not sensitive enough to tell the difference. 😂 RS3 is certainly more practical.
TT RS is much faster on track.
Robin, I think when Jason drove this, the roads he chose meant he would not notice the difference so much, the mag ride on soft is much more compliant, I have found the auto setting on the car a really good setting, it just seems to deal with it all.

Spot On review. Great car but rather have my RS3 as it’s more practical. The 5 Cylinder engine is a masterpiece for noise and performance.👍👍
Chris Sharman thanks Chris. The 3 is much more practical and very similar performance.
Pitty the rs3 /rs6 look like a big bag of shit , the TT actually looks good and sporty.
Chris, this is my car, I have owned both a /MK1 RS3 and a MK2 RS3, realised I didn't need the practicality of the RS3 hence my move to the TT RS, feels such as different car, not really faster, just different somehow.

The brake disks look really small. But other than that..not too bad. Nice review of the audi tt rs!
The front brakes are huge and powerful.
The TT RS is definitely a quick car, 0-100 in +-3.7sec
0-100km in 3.7sec ONLY if you use LAUNCH CONTROL otherwise it's SLOW due to turbo lag. GET YOU INFO RIGHT!💯
..and your point is? Dont other german manufacturers do the same? Why is launch bad?
3.2 in optimal conditions. Where is shines is in less than optimal conditions where it loses much less than other cars.
@@great159 Yeah, no. It's not 3 seconds quick without launch, but it's definitely not slow!

Ortwin I really didn’t notice a huge amount if I’m honest. Certainly nothing like the cars of my youth.
Almost non existent.
Try driving S1 hot hatch l love mine
I actually own this car
👍👍👍👍
Not the torque of an RS6..... it’s 65% of the price....
David Hayes that’s true David, what I was trying to get across was the feeling of speed. It gets to 62 almost as quick but just doesn’t feel like it.
Good review, but I’d take a Boxter S anytime over that car
Thought about an Audi S3 or RS3.
Comparison with the m2???
TT RS is much faster. Even compared. To M2 CS.
Much much faster and more usable power on the road.
I'd take the rs3..
mr Heisenberg it’s cheaper🤑
Can you try the Audi TT RS-R ABT?
ARF Trooper if you can find us one!
Nice review... its an incredible machine and as a owner now for a year I have to say its just perfect.

Rocket ship
Kyle McGillivray yes it is, amazing.

E92 M3 GUY yes! It does sound like an old Quattro! The interiors are so much better now and I love how they’ve updated it.
205 Rallye or A1 Quattro?

Gemster 041 thanks Gemster! We are looking for a TME so watch this space.
You are a moron that know nothing about cars. This TT is like aventador in compact world. You can't compare it to shitty and old Lancer with shitty 4 cylinder engine.
nothing special at all? lofl you have no idea
Bring on the TOMMI - so good I bought a brand new one, got it taken off me and always promised myself another one. 10 years on I got another and I was right the 1st time round it's a v special car.....
Yeah, it's fast. Is it any more involving than other Audis? Always found Audis very dull. Good for Autobahns. Not much else.
M W this one is really good round the lanes, I promise you wouldn’t be disappointed.
No doubt the TTRS is a sport performance car. It's just too bad they couldn't wrap the chassis in something more inspiring.
tom avery the beauty of the RS product line is that if you don’t like the shape, pick another one.
no comment about the steering wheel feel??? what a waste of time
Ridiculous price.
Well done fella, hows the understeer?
Rev it the right foot kept it under control😂
Great car..but its WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.
To the guy in the video, the BEST way to show this cars performance is to use LAUNCH CONTROL, NOT FROM A ROLL!💯 The owner if this car needs to do his homework more.🤓
Audi as a brand I find very bland and boring this is no exception
Audi RS badge says it all....wheels are nasty......they always ride hard......as for the Hot Hatch search Focus RS MK 1 / Williams Clio.........or both ?
dan pomfret looking for an unmolested RS mk1 at the moment
Had the RS in 2015 sold it n bought a Williams in 2016 to save my licence.
Agree about the wheels. Audi wheels are horrible (particuarly on the RS versions) compared to Merc & BMW.
A car like this should NEVER be AUTOMATIC. An automatic car is like sex with condom: takes away all the fun!!
understeer city......lol
Not really.
This car is a ONE TRICK PONY!💯 0-60mph in 3.6sec ONLY with LAUNCH CONTROL!😂 0-60 4.6sec WITHOUT IT! The car has horrible turbo lag and corners like a front wheel drive car, I mean FAIL WHEEL DRIVE!💩
Everything you’ve posted it wrong. It smashes the competition. It has no turbo lag. You’ve clearly never driven any of these cars. 4.6s 😂
