I own one of these. They're not cheap, but for the money you'll struggle to find a better daily driver Coupe (as long as you don't need back seats).

how is it as a daily commute car and what can you say with the maintenance and parts availability

    • @SatanDotExe
      @SatanDotExe ปีที่แล้ว +11

@@soren5801 as a daily commute car, I have absolutely no complaints. In comfort mode it’s surprisingly refined, people say that the DSG is grabby at slow speeds but I don’t agree, it’s more than fine. The maintenance is generally decent but being a German car, anything related to cooling is usually overpriced, so I needed a new thermostat and front radiator and it costed close to £1,000, but that’s probably the most expensive bill I’m going to get for a long, long time.
Edit: That price also includes Labour so if you do it yourself it would be less, and again, most other repairs are much cheaper.

when you say something like "the front wheel seem to have unlimited grip" you have to understand the system. They feel that way because at the moment of slip they offload torque to the rear so of course they don't slip!

Nice review. I own a 2018 TTRS with stage 1 ECU/TCU map and Haldex tune, and the car is absolutely insane. I'm across the pond, but on what you would call B roads, the car is unflappable and stupid fast. I honestly can't think of many cars that could keep pace, especially if the roads are damp. And then you can put the car in comfort mode and relax on the way back home. I get that a Cayman S will be more engaging, but for the average driver, the modern TTS and RS are more than enough car for a daily driver.

In Coupe form with the seats down i got sooo much in! a LARGE suitcase + medium suitcase + large rucksack, and short surfboard 140cm/bag, all in the back with nothing on the passenger seat. and easy to get in due to the large opening boot-lid...was so impressed. Even the Convertible i got the Medium suitcase in with plenty of space around it for a soft bag/rucksack etc...but no surfboard lol

Audi really nailed it by making it driver focused with everything you need on the heads-up display.
All these manufacturers now pumping tablets and multiple screens with touchscreen control on new cars especially EVs. These cars will all look aged and outdated in just a few years then they'll reduce to nothing more than an old tech.

I’ve owned my December 2016 TTs for 2 years end of next month..
Performance wise it’s very good ( brilliant ) but if you like your goodies like I had in all the Merc’s that I had in the past, you need to get ready for a long search..
Audi have different package system when bought new & to find a used with everything is like finding hens teeth..
After phoning many garage’s & dealerships around the country I managed to buy one which was the right colour ( Sepang blue ) with 29k miles but no B&O or folding doors mirrors, no cameras & only rear sensors, no front sensors,I had these fitted later by VAG Retrofit guy £800 ..
Has electric heated seats with minimal lumbar support not really worth having tbh.
It also came with cruise & sat nav ( a must ) lane assist..& the usual standard stuff that Audi does give in its standard package, including a single CD player.
It was only after owning it for a few months I started to miss my creature comforts.
But I also found out after the petrol price increases that on long motorway journeys & trying to keep to speed limits it returned 40.9 mpg in comfort mode ..
But all that goes out the window as soon as I stamp my foot on the floor the beast is woken my thoughts of no digital climate & all the other stuff seems irrelevant !!😈😈

I got lane assist but don’t use it..
I had most of these as standard on previous Mercedes E350 C207 ..
But like I say it doesn’t really matter much lol

@@ParagonCarsLondonI have to agree with the guy, I love your reviews but I can't shake the feeling of you not liking Audi's.. Dont get me wrong, I owned both Bmw and Audi, I agree with you, Bmw is simply sportier, but what you as the reviewer must understand is that not everyone wants the same thing. If you compare a BMW E92 335i with the TTS MK2 for example, Bmw feels sportier but also super heavy steering ( great feedback ) makes it feel heavier from the driver's seat then the TTS feels , to me for example that's a difference that will decide what to buy, even tho the BMW can be sportier, doesn't take away the sportiness from the TTS.. What I get from you is you're always trying to compare Audi to BMW , as a reviewer you should think about the type of owners that will drive the specific car you are reviewing, not just your personal opinion which seems biased tbh, feels like you don't want to allow yourself to actually like VAG car's, there is always a " but " no matter howmuch you seem to enjoy it, don't go driving an Audi thinking about a BMW, it then seems like you're just reserved for BMW's..
