I've been using my Silhouette for years. Once in a while I find a quote with small fonts that I MUST cut! I've been working on a quote for a tumbler all week. I probably printed it 10 times! I tired the way I knew to reverse weed...no luck. Cutting an offset did the trick!! I didn't even have to reverse weed! Thank you so much!!
Thank you just learned how to cut glossy vinyl small fonts , its been killing me! Always lifts small points like in your i ..... Thank you just figured my settings were too high! Force 8 Speed 2 worked to perfection ! Thank you ! Thank you! Thank you!
My brother gave me one of his model cars to decorate with business names....thats what I am using my tiny letters for. I have been in "small-letter hell" all day...my Cameo blade was chewing up my letters. Driving me nuts! I will try some of your choices/tips to see if it helps me out.
I came across this tutorial about a month ago. I saved it in my play list for later use. I just finished doing this and it worked like a charm. I wish you could have seen my happy dance 💃🏾 because I had struggled with this forever. THANK YOU for such a GREAT tutorial. 😃😆😃❤
if you have the cameo 4 id LOVE to know what setting you cut this small with. I always have a lot of trouble cutting that small... well the weeding is what i have trouble with, it never seems to pull away from the vinyl all that great
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try again with a weeding box. Because I tried several times with permanent vinyl for my ornaments and it just wasn't working.
A problem I have is that when I weed, the product that is left on the sheet that I want to keep, doesn't stick so well to it's own backing. So, I'm always having to hand align after I weed!! Is there something I'm doing wrong? I'm new at this whole thing, so...
Great video. Really struggling with creating washing labels which need small writing it doesn’t seem to come off on the heat transfer tape properly. Any additional tops or a video would be great on how to do neck/ washing labels which have writing on and heat press to a t shirt
I’m so glad I found this! I’m trying to put cursive Vinyl on a memorial shadow box for someone and I am struggling! Hopefully this reverse weeding works for me. Thanks for the tips! I was about to give up.
I want to cut cmall text so that i can heatpress my "neck label" instead of sewing a neck label, I just wanted to cut it on vinyl and press it on. I think the font I have for a neck label is EVEN smaller. Do you suggest this? Im using 8pt font on photoshop and font name Athelas.
Meslissa - I have been watching your videos - but I have been trying to cut a small font for a quote to be put on a lantern. I have wasted so much vinyl. I have tried both ways (reverse weeding and regular and it seems it just will not cut through even though I put on settings recommended. Any help would be appreciated
do you have any idea why my vinyl isn’t coming off of the transfer paper that easily. the letters and what i am supposed to weed out aren’t detached in some places. what setting do i need to change to get a deep cut?
I have the cameo 3 and I would love to know why the letters get jammed or shift while cutting. That really pisses me off till I quit certain services because of it. The slowest setting is 1 and that still seems to be too fast. HELP!!!
Hi Melissa, question, I am having hard time cutting my vinyl using small font. Which vinyl would you recommend and transfer vinyl? Thank you. I am working on a wedding seating list that will transfer to a mirror.
Thanks for the tips, I cut very small text, around 10mm a little under 1/2 inch for my hobby and it’s very hard and frustrating to do Hopefully your tips will help
I am interested but can the Silhouette cut more smaller than you did in your video? because i want to make numbers more small!! Waiting your reply ASAP my dear!!!
Hi there! It sounds like you may want to look into what's happening with the compound paths of your text. Check out this tutorial here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2015/02/silhouette-studio-compound-paths.html
I love the Silhouette tutorials! They really help me understand the why's and how's of doing my t-shirts with vinyl transfers for my business (EduSigns)...thank you
How do i cut sketches that i draw myself to put it on vynil and cut it with silhouette studio. Im stuck with it because of the double lines i get in silhouette studio.please help me. Cant find any tutorials on yt. Can i contact you to explain it better.thanks
Danny Gonsalez select your design, release compound path, click off the design, choose the parts of the inside (doubled line) you want to get rid of, select delete for the section you have chosen. After you complete eliminating the inside parts you don’t want, then you can select all and group. I hope this was easy to understand and works for you. Always make a duplicate so you still have original if something doesn’t work correctly for you.
Duh! Wish i would have seen this 7 hours ago. Just got done with 10 lines for a mug (small text). Nightmare with regular weeding and some not releasing. Next time I'll know better.
The weeding boxes help immensely thank you.

If you're having trouble cutting vinyl, increase the force setting to 14 from the default of 4.
Love your video! I want to cut something as small as a #12 font in aerial. Will this machine do that?
Amazing!! Definitely learned something new
Im struggling with small fonts. Ive been using the premium blade. Is that a good blade to use or should i use something else?
I have the cameo 3 and I would love to know why the letters get jammed or shift while cutting. That really pisses me off till I quit certain services because of it. The slowest setting is 1 and that still seems to be too fast. HELP!!!
Hi there! This sounds like you might have too much force rather than it being too fast.

Did you make your shirt?!
How did you make the box around the text?
On the left side panel in silhouette studios there is a tab that has shapes..select the rectangle and you can create the box to go around text 🙂
Would this work with cricut
Yes.
