They have oil dilution problems, still use CVT transmissions that feel like crap and the engines are not built as strong as they once built them. Toyota has a 2.5l non-turbo engine with a regular 8 speed automatic transmission and ours has been flawless. 2024 Camry gets a 2.4l twin turbo charged engine. I passed on the Honda even though it looked better the Camry felt stronger and has now started clocking cars making it to 300k miles and over so it has kept its legendary reliability. Both good cars, but I will not own a CVT I hate the way they feel.

  • @Da__goat
    @Da__goat 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

The accord interior is definitely FAR superior to the Camry, mostly because of the fact that the Camry is still rocking an interior from 2018 and the accord has just been refreshed. That being said, the top V6 engine in the XSE is definitely better than the I-4 options, and the XLE would have likely been a fairer comparison to the accord touring. In terms of engines, toyota would probably win that. It really depends on what you're looking for. Honda doesn't have the ventilated seats that Toyota provides in the camry nor does really anyone at that price point. Honda is going digital with its display vs the analog in the camry, this also depends on how you look at it. Digital=futuristic or Digital=maintenance nightmare because its more difficult to replace. It really depends on what you want.

I only use Normal. When I first started out in January was only getting 8.1 mpg. May have something to do with the Break-in-Period of a new car. I dislike 4-bangers, turbos, hybrids, and EVs. Maybe my next vehicle will be a 1960s to mid-1970s Classic with a V6 or V8. The Muscle and Sports Car era. The Camry is alright just don't like being close to the ground as sits at 5.7 ground clearance. All cars should be 6.7 inches or more. Also, need more Head Space ... my brother is 6'5" and needs to move seat all the way back and recline just to get in the car as mentioned it sits low.

Great video and very helpful for anyone in the market for a 2023 midsize sedan! I like the looks of the 2023 Accord, so much nicer than the previous years which fell well short. When I bought four years ago at the $27,000 price point the Camry SE was a much better choice over the Accord 1.5T Sport. Honda offered no factory options at that price point, including safety features like BSW and RCTW! And you got stuck with a CVT transmission plus the 1.5 liter engine with oil dilution problems. It was a $4500 upgrade to the 2.0T Sport and almost required to get needed options and the better engine and transmission. On the other hand, the $4400 upgrade from the Camry SE to the XSE was nice but not necessary since you already got the good engine and transmission plus options like BSW and RCTW, etc. in the SE unlike the 1.5T Sport. I hope in 2023 Honda has learned to offer important factory options in their lower trim levels but haven't looked since I'm not in the market right now since I'm still pleased with my 2019 Camry SE that has been trouble free.

Great video! I think a V6 Camry XSE could’ve been the better one to compare against the top trim Accord Touring, even if they had different engines, or, better yet, a Camry Hybrid XSE. Of course the Accord will have an advantage against the old Camry. It’s a newer generation. And even though the Camry would’ve been a slightly pricier, I would’ve chosen the options or packages to better align it with the accord. I had two Camry in the past, one 4 cylinder and one V6. Both excellent choices. I also had an V6 Accord, and along with the V6 Camry I had, they were two of the best vehicles I’ve ever purchased.

In terms of styling and comfort, I choose the Toyota Camry. I've been fortunate to get an Uber ride in Camry models ranging within the last 2-3 years and all rides have been extremely quiet and comfortable. I own a 9th Gen Honda Accord Sedan (2014) and the OEM ride quality seemed to feel quite stiffer even on its 17" OEM tires and wheels.
Honda has been going backwards on their Accord Exterior design and it has taken a huge nosedive since the 10th Gen and it continues unfortunately to head in that direction. The main design engineer or whoever is calling the shots at the top of the food chain is strongly advocating that whale-head type of design and standardizing the look in-line with the Honda Civic.
The interior cabin is probably the positive point of the design but outside of that it just doesn't look that great.
Whoever that guy is, he needs to step-down because it has no competition with Toyota's more sportier styling and appeal.

Hybrid Accord vs Base Engine Gas Camry is a poor comparison. Compare a Camry LE to an Accord LX or a Hybrid Camry XLE to this Accord and that'd be a more honest comparison. Let it be known Honda only offers its base gas engine in the lowest of trim packages essentially forcing consumers into a Hybrid if they also want leather or upgraded audio. The Accord would still win based on rear cabin and trunk space and improved infotainment/tech. Ive test driven the new Accord and find it less sporty than the current Camry. The 2022 Accord handles better than both the new Accord and current Camry.

Also the touch screen on the Camry although not built in to the dash, as I would prefer, it is more integrated with the dash rather than sticking up on top of it, and of course I want nothing to do with EV, or Hybrid, which is why I went with the 2023 Camry instead of waiting for the 2024's which may have those features I just don't want.

Yes, I know you can't compare a Lexus to either of the cars but Lexus is made by Toyota. My most recent car was a 2015 Honda Accord LX which I purchased new. I just sold it with 233,000 miles on it. Other than routine maintenance, I had NO repairs. Heck, I didn't need new brakes until about 120,000 miles! The Lexus I had was a 2013 ES300. If it hadn't been for the warranty I would have been stuck with some major bills (new starter, 2 power window motors, one new axle and some other minor repairs). Maybe I got a lemon, right? Anyway, so far I have 1800 miles on my new Accord and loving it!

I drove both 2023 Camry XSE and the 2023 Honda accord EX
    Accord:
    32,000$
    Daily driving : 36 mpg
Tech : on point and modern
    Driving feels good
    Passenger comfort not so much
    Camry:
    39,000$
    Daily driving : 27 mpg
    Tech : feels out dated
Seats feel very nice far away from what accord has to offer
Drivings not that engaging feels tacky but passengers comfort is far superior
For 36,000 I would go with the Accord sport hybrid
    47 mpg + upgraded infotainment
That’s hard to beat value for money

It's kind of strange to compare the Accord Touring Hybrid with a Camry XSE AWD (non-hybrid). One omission in the Accord is the lack of spare tire. It's often a deal breaker and I'm not sure more cars are deleting it just to try to save some cost/weight. The all-digital display has its downside--when that burns out, it is rather expensive to replace. It's a good thing that this Touring model has a head up display because you can still see the speed until you get that digital display replaced. Camry still has mechanical speedo, fuel, and temp gauge on all trims so maybe there's not as much of a need to get a head up display.

I have owned nothing but Honda and Acura vehicles since 1985. Currently have a '21 Accord Touring 2.0T. I am extremely disappointed with Honda for not offering any higher performing version of the Accord. I really wish they had dropped the 1.5T engine option, offered the hybrid model as their base engine and kept the 2.0T for those of us who want a bit more power. Going from my '21 Touring 2.0T to a new Touring Hybrid is definitely not an upgrade. Better fuel economy and newer tech do not offset the power and exhilarating driving dynamics of the 2.0T. I will be keeping my '21 for a while and will very likely leave Honda for my next vehicle. After 38 years with the company, I never thought I would buy from another manufacturer until now. RIP 2.0T!

Great video. I am thinking the sound decibel test is not correct though. I really wanted to know the comparison and what you did was run the car thinking the engine at 55 was the main source of noise. You ran your test on different roads. Road type and structure make up the main source or road noise in sedans. We all know what it is like driving on a concrete road vs. fresh asphalt in terms of noise. Asphalt roads themselves vary greatly as is the noise from tires rolling over them. For a true test, you would at least want to drive in the same stretch of road to assess decibels and I'd really like to know the difference. Overall though, this was great. Thanks again.

  • @chrispnw2547

People buy these vehicles primarily for accommodating people. The rear sloping design of the Accord could be forgiven in the Civic 5-door but not for the Accord (unless Honda offered a 5-door variant in addition to a 4-door version). Both brothers are on the short side in terms of height. I suspect a 6 foot + person would appreciate the Toyota for rear seat comfort. In 2023, sedan manufacturers have to raise their game in order to retain buyers in this shrinking segment. It escapes me as to why a 5-door variant is a problem in America. People have changed and are accepting of 5-door sedans if the hatch is power operated. The trunk luxury but an old mindset. Ask Tesla, Mercedes, Audi, and BMW.

Hmmm, the Accord is nice, but something tells me the new Camry is going to dismantle this Accord. Judging by the new Prius and Crown, the new Camry is going to be packing a much better infotainment screen, new softwares, sleeker design, and some serious power-train options. I’m expecting a 200hp 50mpg hybrid, a 240hp performance hybrid, and if they bring the GR treatment to the Camry, expect to see the Hybrid Max with 360hp.

I have always really liked the Accord for what it is - an attractive, balanced, fun to drive and dependable car that doesn't ask much from you. It isn't a sport sedan and doesn't pretend to be, but it has some genuine sporting ability for times when you feel like enjoying the twisty stuff. I've owned two of them - an '08 Coupe V6 6MT that was my wife's "fun car" for when she didn't have to take all five kids somewhere (she now has a 2020 F150 Platinum), and a 2014 Hybrid Touring (later replaced with a 2018 Infiniti Q50RS which I didn't love and just last year replaced that with a '22 Model 3 Performance), and my oldest daughter (23) had an '11 Accord EXL V6 as her first car (she now has a '22 Elantra N 8DCT), while my second to youngest currently has an Acura TSX (2012) which is essentially an Accord with an Acura badge. All of them were/are fantastic for the most part (aside from propensity for rust...ahem). It is an excellent choice for those who look forward to driving but don't have the means or don't want to spend big on a European car or an impractical sports car. While I can get behind this new and improved hybrid powertrain (even though I still think it's a big mistake to eliminate the excellent 2.0T option) it's a bit more of a reach to get behind the styling. Still, styling is subjective. Some will like it. But I'm not seeing many on the road, which is unlike Accords of the past. My local dealer seems to always have them in stock. The ones I have seen on the road look incredibly generic and bland.
