This is incredible. I'm hoping that's what'ss wrong with mine. I also had 16k at purchase 3 years ago, and had these errors on my weekend test drive just before I purchased it. The dealer repaired it no cost. Now, at 165k miles, it's coming back. Thanks for posting this!
The worst thing they did with new cars is put all these sensors and wires in them . They have it engineered where a code will come on every six months , so people have to bring it to the shop and spend unnecessary money . I've got a Chevy Impala LS 2012 and the ABS light is notorious for coming on . Great video 👍
Ack, since I have serviced this Impala, it has been off ever since. Using the AC Delco Wheel bearing/hub assembly, along with repairing that broken wire, the car has been great for my grandfather. But it does sound like these GM's are just built with cheap quality. Which is sad, it's a very nice car.
I have a 2009 that’s had the service stabiltrak and all that junk lights on for 5 years now, driven it about 200k miles across country in the last 5 years with those lights lol. Recently bought a 2011 with only 75k and after putting 6k on it it’s lighting up like Christmas. Typical chevys😂 but I keep buying them because it’s usually the same 5 or 6 issues and that’s it no mystery bullshit. Either your wire sensor is bad, your ac actuator is bad, your power steering/brake fluid is low, or your transmission is blown😂 that’s about it with those chevys but if you take care of them they’re all good
Nice video! Have a 2012 same issue. Will be my project for the day! Guess this is a common problem with the impalas. Should be a “recall” issue for GM! Bought the wire harness from “Rock Auto”, for $6.50 complete. GM wanted $70.00! A lot of people replace the hub bearing and nine out of ten times it’s the WIRE HARNESS!👍
I have the same problem with my 2013 Impala...it makes this grinding sound when I turn left. The error message comes on sometimes but not always. Is it becuz of a fricking wire?
I had a tie rod that needed fixing and after that was fixed same problem with my impala , very annoying sickening problem, not sure if the mechanic accidentally hit sensor or what
Sweet. I didn't see anything wrong with my wires and almost bought a new sensor. First I did like you and ran the car on stands until the light came on and found the issue

Having the same problem my 2014 Impala LTZ limited and I also replace my two front hubs replace the brakes and everything and It stopped for a while and now it's starting to do the same thing again so now I'm going to go ahead and check that wire thanks for the video
I had the same issue with the 2012 Ltz I just bought. Hot wire from the battery to alternator was arching out on the motor mount in the front of the motor. Taped it up fixed the problem
My 2012 impala was doing the same thing and I found out the sensor wires (like the ones in this video) were zip tied too tight, so every time you turn the steering wheel all the way left or right, the zip ties didn’t leave enough slack in the wire to compensate, triggering the 3 wheel-related (ABS, stibilitrak, traction control) warning signals. I simply cut the zip tie anchors but still left the wires it in the raceway and I’ve had no problems. Thought this would be very cheap and helpful
I noticed you, like many with this subject, never route the ohms tester towards the main ABS regulator gizmo.. makes sense cause I tried it & no reading on either front side. guesscing that means the loop is closed at regulator when battery, key, etc., is shut-off. same differance though, 1 could start test from connector closer to regulator & point it back towards hub. btw., these wires internally breaking on this wire is a common misnomer - something about after one breaks, then takes off on a turn, that’s when stabiltrak, this that or the other, takes place - almost like, maybe, heat from exaust, brakes, etc. puts tension on wire then when turning, etc. it pulls this now, non-fascined connection apart. from that one could guess this hidden break is near brakes(no pun int.)✋😒
This is a persistent problem and I don't know why. I've had two Impalas, a 2007 3.5 LT and a 2013 3.6 LT and both had the same issue. To this day I just replace the harnesses (they are like $20) every year, which is about how long they will last. I don't even bother buying Doorman or AC Delco, as these are not only more expensive, but won't last any longer than the generic Amazon brand. Replacing it takes just a few minutes. Never take it to the dealership as in some cases, it won't throw any codes. It will just randomly activate the ABS and TCS giving you those nasty vibrations and slowdowns when turning. The dealership need to be able to replicate the issue and most of the times it won't do it. Worst case, they will tell you to replace the ABS module or wheel hub/speed sensor assembly and these are VERY expensive jobs, plus they won't fix the issue.
Hello.... i have the same issue. I did change the driver side sensor where i do feel the problem comes from. Still does the same grinding. But do i have to change the other side too. Pls let know thanks
well i think this is a common issue in Impala 2011, thanks for the video i'll test the wiring harness and the sensor itself to see what its failing. Quick question: how good its the scanner that you are using? can you erase the codes once you replace with new parts?
This video helped a lot now i know what i need to do to try and diagnose munes because its doing the exact same thing what is the model number for the harness
My impala is having this issue as well as when I turn all the way right and left and give some gas it sounds like it’s catching on something or grinding. I don’t know if it’s just the wire or a control arm failing? Any help is appreciated
Traction control is engaging the brake. You hear that grinding sound. Watch you brake pads will be toast when you go to randomly check them from the daily traction control light engaging on the dash. That’s what happened to me
Hi my car doing the same thing but I can feel a little vibration sometimes in my brake pedal and gas pedal. I think it might be more then the wire. My car also doesn't have the light or sound come on all the time it mainly does it when it's hot and sometimes when it does it my radio goes off too. Mechanics have not been able to get a reading on it either. I'm so frustrated this has been going on 5 months.
I’m getting all the same alerts, my bearing was replaced within the past year as well as my abs harness on the front left wheel, I am at almost 124,000 miles and I have a check engine only when the key is half turned and not running, I plug in my code reader and get no codes.
I have had this issue for the past 2 plus years on my 2011 Impala. I've had it fixed several times and problems keeps reoccurring. What's the deal with that?
In my case, it was a defective wire. But I have heard these cars are prone to bad wheel bearings. If you're putting on the garbage from the auto part stores, those might be part of it. I Find GM's are picky when you don't use AC Delco. But that's my experience on it.

I'm having the same issue with my 2012 Impala. Your video is awesome just one question, how did you end up finding the wires after they left the plug from the ABS sensor following it the control arm and it goes into the engine bay. From there how did you find the wire it's so congested in there it looks like you were up by the radiator is that where it comes out? Thank you for your time
Did this error code caused all the gauges to shut off driving and then come back on and keep shutting off? Taking to mechanic tomorrow and I’m going to show him this video. The idiots at GM kept my car for three days, charged me $150 for a “diagnosis”, and then proceeded to tell me they didn’t know what’s wrong. Thanks for the video!
The gauges never had a problem. The error was while driving, because of the bad wire, the system would receive input from the wheel, then lose it, when it lost communication with the wheel, Service Brake System/ABS/Brake Traction Control all came up at once. The speedometer kept functioning normal. If your gauges are going out I'd suspect a different issue.
That is crazy, thanks for letting me know. I honestly thought the mechanic sabotaged it somehow since this error was coming up shortly after a tire rotation. Seems instead this is just a common issue on these cars.
I've replaced all four hub bearings on my 2012 Impala and I still get abs issues. When I turn to the right and accelerate when in first gear my brakes lock. What are the odds the wiring on my right hub bearing needs replacing? Also do you have to splice new wiring or can that be bought and replaced just like battery terminals can?
@@martinneri5136 I've realized that when I went into a forum online. I ordered the abs cables from autozone. The dealership wanted $127 a cable. Autozone had them at $45 plus tax. I'm going to take the car to the mechanic next week. In the meantime I've discovered that turning off the traction control completely eliminates the issue. It really only happens at low speeds. Particularly in my car when I make sharp right turns. Not so much when I turn to the left. Sometimes if I hit a pothole in a parking lot it happens as well. Doesn't seem to be an issue on the highway or if I turn while braking from a speed higher than or cruising at ~20 mph. I'm honestly kicking myself for not looking into it sooner because I feel like I've wasted money on replacing hub bearings that probably didn't need replacing. And I went to three different mechanics who all recommended the same thing. No one hit the nail on the head. Honestly GM should produce better vehicles. Don't think my next car will be an Impala.

Might depend on year and submodel, but you shouldn't have to go to the dealer. For my 2008, the rear ABS connectors and wiring is Standard Motor Products part number ALH73. That one services both rear abs wires and has all the clips and connectors, plug and play. For the front connectors, Standard N15002 is the repair harness, one per side. That one will require cutting and reconnecting to the old wiring further up. Double check with your local parts guy. It appears to lightly coil the wire for better durability vs the factory wiring.

Honestly, I agree. I keep trying to find solutions to making better videos. A helper would be tremendous help, but I can't find good help. That isn't even a fancy reader, can be had for pretty cheap on ebay/amazon. Though the sad reality to fix a lot of problems with modern cars you need some diagnostic tools. However, if your car has a sporadic Service StabiliTrak/ABS/Traction Control error, could play with the wiring harness to the wheel to see if possibly a bad connection with the car in drive while on jack stands to see if you hear the car beeping. Then you know you have a wiring issue and just have to figure out where the break is and repair the break.
@@kirbyyashaI have the same light 08 Chevy. 9C1. I be heading that beeping sound as well so with those lights does it mean it’s a wiring issue. Please crop and trim your video, and get a stand or a helper
Honestly, I agree. I keep trying to find solutions to making better videos. A helper would be tremendous help, but I can't find good help. When I use a stand, I seem to have problems with things not being in focus or out of frame. I've made many videos that after going to editing, they've been so terrible, I just throw them away. Hence, I don't do much on my channel. I want to start making more, but I need to work on techniques and finding better solutions.
@@kirbyyasha i love the fact that your videos a raw and uncut. Its hard to miss a beat. I wouldn't change a thing. A camera assistant would be nice not for me but yourself other then that your golden.

so much wasteddtime in video and we dont have your fancy reader
I do not own the bottom half of my dude box isn’t working so from fans on down it’s not power..I though the extra red wiring (2/3)attached to fuse box, was some type of extra wiring so that they would work
Awesome! I bought an 07 recently and have heard these wires go bad. I'm replacing my front pad and rotors soon, so I will be doing this also while I am down there. I have another harness down by the trans that just hangs and idk what it goes to that I'll be figuring out as well.
Same here!08 9C1 impala police model so much damn wiring under that hood
