    Thanks very much for the honest review.
    I'm not sure it looks wonderful, boxy.
    But I do appreciate the build quality and holding of value;
    And of course, the status statement.
    Plus: it's "for the Immortals"!

    As an owner of several G Wagons, let me give you the background information.
    In 1971 (53 years ago), the Mercedes G Wagon was designed and created by Daimler Mercedes and several Iranian (Persian) engineers at the specific request of the King of Iran (Persia) Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. This was a secret project until February 1979.
    The G Wagon was initially intended to be a military vehicle exclusive to Iran (Persia) and it was never intended to be commercialized to be used by the civilian population.
    Due to the 1978 revolution in Iran, the Mercedes G Wagon was never delivered to Iran and stayed at the Mercedes factory for over a year.
    Since Mercedes was left with thousands of military-style vehicles (G Wagon), they couldn’t sell them to the general population. During that one year, Mercedes took away a lot of the Iranian military equipment, repainted the G Wagons with different commercial paints, and in February 1979 (45 years ago), introduced the G Wagon to the world.
    The father of the G Wagon is rooted in Iran (Persian), and today, we would not have the G Wagon accessible to us had the 1978 Iranian revolution didn’t occur.
    So, we owe our deepest gratitude to the Iranians (Persians) for the G Wagon.

    I absolutely 💯 love ❤️ the G-Wagon! It’s the complete vibe. The G-wagon is everything you described … impractical, high sitting, expensive, powerful and custom. It’s basically a personality and everyone who gets one 1️⃣ connects with that. I’m getting one this month, before March ends, it will be mine!! Loved 🥰 the video I literally felt like I was driving in the security of one throughout the video! This or better! Thanks 🙏🏾 1119

    I absolutely love the G Wagon and it is priced right. This is an ultra heavy duty vehicle and I am sure it will hold the value long term. This is one of those real Mercedes built well.

    I'd take a Lincoln Navigator over the G wagon any day of the week as the G Wagon hasn't changed all that much in 45 years from its civilian introduction in 1979 model year there had been some SUVs prior to that such as Jeep Wagoneer Wrangler Ford Bronco Toyota Land cruiser etc. though the first American Luxury SUV was actually the 1991 Oldsmobile Bravada though it was never a big seller like the Navigator/Escalade etc. would be later the Bravada only sold around 180,000 between 1996 and 2004 when Oldsmobile as a maker was discontinued for poor sales selling that few models in 9 model years is a laugh where as for example in that time the Toyota Camry sold 3.7 million units in the United States and was the best selling mid size car for 7 out of 9 years and has been every year since 2002 so 22 model years or 21 Calendar years and 25 of 26 model years between 1997-2023 and is closing in on 14 million sold in the US in 42 years of production which is around 60% of its worldwide sales are in the US the next country in which it may get discontinued for low sales is Australia it sold less than 11,000 units in Australia last year a top trimmed XSE V6 costs about 60,000 Australian dollars which is in a similar price range of a well optioned Cadillac CT5 V in the US the price for the same car in Australia would be 97,000 similar to a base version of the Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing which starts at 98,065 US dollars granted the Blackwing has a supercharged 6.2 L V8 engine while the standard v has a 3.0 L twin turbo V6 and that's in a 4000 LB car for the V and when the Blackwing is equipped with the 10 speed Automatic it weighs 4,142 LBs

    I used to be Japanese car fan until 2008 where I found interior materials became plastic creaking fantastic after that year. I now prefer Euro vehicles now. By far this is the best video you've made and is bang on. If money is no issue, this G class is a no brainer. Since money is an issue, I would wait for a lease return and acquire one that have Apple Car Play already integrated in it.

    • @demcomp
      @demcomp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And the Euro manufacturers love you! They'll happily take your money to repair their over engineered, overpriced cars that fall apart.
      Japan may use Plastic interiors, Euro cars use Plastic engines 🤣
      Change a part.. snap.. oooh poopies, that was an expensive mistake...

    • @BocaAtractivo82
      @BocaAtractivo82 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@demcomp Of course they love me for purchasing their product just like when you purchase a JP car.They don’t take my money.Broken plastic?I scan,print it and replace it. Most ppl who complain about their Euro cars are those that don’t take care of it.Same goes for JP cars - especially when rage on about expensive repairs from dealerships/shops for service and repair :|. I don’t complain because I do most of the maintenance, replace wear and tear items and pay a professional to do the work I don’t have tools or jack for.Plus the results I want outperform it’s JP counterparts
