I’m a grey haired old man and I spotted a retro Casio calculator watch from 30 yards at the gas station today. It’s like time stood still and I was in another dimension.

Perfect timing, I keep telling myself I'm going to consolidate - who needs this many watches - just stick to a few favorites - buy a 4 watch box and call it a day. Told my wife this morning I'm done, but I've talked myself out of it by lunch time...
I told myself I'm not a collector... N now I have 10... N still looking for the next numeral watch, square watches with concentric dials, pilot watches, etc... 😅
My girl is still divided between my watch problem and Rubik cube’s collection. Well at least I don’t smell like women perfume when I’m back from work

This was a hilarious but very true. I actually gave up an actual addiction and it has allowed me to own the watches that I had been wanting for a very long time and now have an amazing collection. Coming up on 3 and a half years of sobriety in April 🙏🏻 I appreciate this video TGV!!!

Today, I laid my Hamilton railroad grade pocket watch into the coffin of my best friend. His last name was Hamilton and he had admired the old watch. I regret not just giving it to him years ago for him to enjoy. I truly think I would have gotten more joy from him getting the joy from it.

This is pure gold! I went to a restaurant in Nice, France and everyone there was dancing and having fun while all I did was look at all the watches they were wearing. I even dream about watches. I have too many. Every room in my house has something related to watches in it. I even quit my job so I can have more time for watches. It sure is a problem and I will definitely be contacting Hugo. Thank you TGV for bringing awareness to this matter and providing the necessary steps for those of us that need the help.

I've been a watch addict for nearly 10 years myself. Interestingly enough, this year, I've been able to stop. I have yet to buy a watch this year and have no intention of doing so. I have the money to spend, too. It's funny how that is, at least for me. Keep posting, my friend. You're a great asset to the watch community.

My name is Richard, and I am a watch addict. There, I said it. Thanks TGV for giving me the strength to admit it. It all started so innocently when my brother-in-law showed me a vintage Seiko diver he had bought back in 2020. I kid myself that I can stop whenever I like, but I know in my heart it's not true.

Collecting mechanical and automatic watches is something I’ve just got into the past couple of years. I have probably 20 different gshocks and many seiko’s , luminox , Bulova’s and Casio’s but they are All quartz and know I don’t care for quartz movement or digital watches like the gshocks at all. I gave all my watches to my son he likes the quartz and digital watches. Now I just buy and wear mechanical and automatic watches. It actually makes me feel good to hear the ticking and see the second hand sweep across instead of the annoying jerking movement of a quartz. I have an addiction for mechanical and automatic watches preferably military field watches and divers. It hasn’t gone over big with the wife because mechanical and automatics are considerably more expensive than quartz. The Rolex explorer I purchased cost more than all the watches that I gave to my son. I tried to tell my wife that that Rolex is probably one of the cheapest Rolex you can buy . That didn’t go over at all lol. My watch collection in the past probably 3 years has grown to about 12 watches and sadly I’m not allowed to purchase any more or else lol . I just saw a Marathon GSAR automatic for I believe in the $1800 dollar range and I thought that was a reasonable price for a well built automatic watch but my wife doesn’t feel the same lol. Guess she’s going to get mad and I’m going to find what or else means😳lol. Hope you have a blessed day . 👍🏻👍🏻

My girlfriend asked me why I have 3 different dive watches, when they all look the same.
I showed her how the beezle clicks were different and told her about the difference in the size and movements and what season and scenarios I use each of them in.
She understood and accepted it.
It helps when the woman is into her own fashion pieces, you just have to explain it in a way they can relate to.
As well as not having them cost extreme amounts of money, of course.

Great video as always. I have managed to control my addiction by selling on watches including my favourites. It is a highly recommended approach as you get the buzz from the research, the retail therapy from the buying, financial salvation from the selling (not flipping) and domestic harmony from the wife who thinks you can only wear a certain number of watches.
I started collecting watches 30 years ago, it just started completely harmless with just one chronograph watch.
Today, it is a total mess with 70 + watches! 😲
And to make it even worse: I learned to become a watchmaker, have a small workshop, and now I am able to service and repair 'the mess' all by myself! 😱

I recently became obsessed with a 1970 Seiko 6139-6030, Black Pogue, 1st edition JDM. I thought this would bring me happiness. After countless hours scouring the internet I finally pulled the trigger on an eBay listing at a great price. The only problem was the inner bezel wasn’t rotating. I thought I would just be able to swap out the crown stem gear and all my dreams would come true. I was so wrong. A 4 hour round trip journey and $400 dollars later and I am left with this sinking feeling that maybe the watch wasn’t worth it at all and happiness will never be achieved through consumerism.
TGV, the work and the filming level is extraordinary. And it touches all of us, we are all watch addicts just like you :)

I collect vintage watches. It is a hobby which requires (or it should) a long term strategy. At the moment I am the not understood genius in my family with my watch collection. But soon I will have an influential ally : my daughter. She is only two and a half, though...:)
