      I figured out how to turn them off right away; but now here since I forgot how to turn them back on as I can use them where I now park 🤪. They can come in handy but were bugging me at first. Anyhow, I am great full for the video.

      Yay! So glad to help! Sorry to hear about your owner's manual. An awesome resource for the online version of the Owner's Manuals is LexusDrivers.com Click on the Resources tab and put in your model and year at the top to find all of the manuals for your vehicle. Thanks very much for tuning in!

      I noticed that on my 14 GS350 today. I don't drive it often, however I did today. It only has 52k miles on it. 😅 I came to YT too see how to fix. Found this video, went out to garage and Voila!!
      Thanks so much! My OCD was starting to kick in...lol

    I dont comment on these kind of videos but you saved me a big head ache.
    Had my mirror caps painted and thought the guy reinstalled them incorrectly, because when i went into reverse my mirrors would go up not down.
    Thanks

    Thank you for your response. Melissa O’Connell I meant to add your videos are a great library to refer for information rather than trying to find answers in the manuals presented by Lexus. I appreciate the work the people who produced the manuals however visual information works much better when the answers are presented in a visual manner. By the way I like the way you used the third button on the driver chair for ladies. Us old boys like myself can use the third button to lower the seat to the bottom position to get IN and OUT of the SUV and then use the number one button for my comfort when driving the car. Thanks again.

    I have a 2018 CT200h Luxury, is there a way to program auto tilt and auto closing mirrors when locking car?

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! The auto folding and programmable mirrors must come with the package on your vehicle. If the car is equipped with that feature, then you will see the Auto button by the mirror controls. Thanks for checking in.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thanks very much for tuning in. A great resource for you will be the digital owners manuals on LexusDrivers.com: drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/resources/manuals-warranty The digital clock on this year model is a 12 hour clock only and does not have the 24 hour clock customization. The interior rearview mirror is manually adjusted. The power button turns on and off the auto dimming/anti glare feature. If you have HomeLink buttons on the mirror they are for pairing a compatible garage door opener/closer. Hope this helps. Thanks for being here.

    Thank you for this video. But I have a 2019 RX 350, when transmission is put on reverse, instead of side mirrors to tilt downwards, they tilt upwards. Please, how do I fix this malfunction? Thank you again for all that you do.
    Kayode Oguntuwase

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kayode, Sorry for the delay. Your mirrors can also be programmed to tilt in reverse where you would like them. Just follow the same steps: RX turned on > hold down the brake > shift to reverse > adjust side mirrors for backing up viewing > car back to park. Now test it out, shift to reverse to make sure it saved the new position. If it did not save, then you should take it to the dealership to have them check the mirror calibration. Hope this helps :)

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Some earlier model years may have the tilt-in-reverse feature, but it was not programmable when the feature was first introduced. That was an improvement added later as additional capabilities were added to the mirror operation. Thanks for checking in.

    When I put the NX300h in parking mode after adjusting the auto-tilting rearview mirrors, the mirrors do not return to their original positions. I put car in to parking mode.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Srinivas, the side mirrors are saved with the Driver Position Memory. Do you have that setup and working already? if your NX doesn't have Driver Position Memory, it should still memorize the tilt in reverse mirror position, if you your NX is equipped for it. If it is not working correctly, I would have your Lexus service department take a look to help. Thanks so much for checking in with me.

    Mine tilts up when you open the door and I have to move it back down every time how do I set it to not move up. The tilt down work when reversing and it goes back to normal.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jonathan. I would get the mirrors checked at your Lexus dealership to make sure they are calibrated correctly. If they are in the normal driving position when you turn the car off, then they should not move when you open the door. If you are reversing and turn the car off before shifting into Park, then they need to tilt back up when you next operate the vehicle. Otherwise, if you come to a stop, put the car in Park, then turn off the car, they should be in your driving position for your next drive. I hope this helps.

    Hi Melissa, I wonder if you can help. The compass on my NX300 Sports rearview mirror was switched off in error while I was trying to programme my garage door. How do I turn it back on as I liked that quick view directional feature?

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mohan, No worries. If it doesn't automatically turn back on for you when you next start your NX, look for the button on the right side of the rearview mirror with a power symbol on it. It looks like a circle with a line at the top. Push and hold that button for 3-5 seconds and you should see the compass turn back on. Hope this helps.

    hi , my left side mirror is not adjusting, its working good but not go down when I reverse. the right one is working

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @Munim, Sorry for the delay. I was out of the office for a training. Depending on the model and year of your Lexus, you may have programmable tilt. Put your Lexus in Reverse and keep your foot on the brake. Adjust each side mirror to the position you want, then put your Lexus back into Park. The new positions will be memorized if they are programmable. If the left side is still not going down, you may need to take your Lexus to service at your Lexus dealership to have them take a look at it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    my question is, was, why does my left mirror move up and down on it;s own.?? i replaced the original and they are not cheap.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mike, It sounds like it needs to be calibrated if it is not moving when you are reversing or selecting a different Driver Position Memory position. It could also be that a previous setting was linked to your key. I would reave your Driver Position Memory button and then have your Lexus Service Department take a look at the mirror if it continues to tilt without being operated. Thanks for checking in.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi John! The 201CT does have the Tilt-in-reverse feature, but to my knowledge, it is not programmable. It will tilt based on the saved driving position for the mirror. If you don't like that tilted position, you can turn the feature off by deselecting the L/R buttons. I hope this helps. Thanks for being here!

  • @jliang8285
    @jliang8285 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks a lot, I tried this on my 2011 RX350, but it seems that my adjutment for the tilting angle won't save. If I shift to P then R again, the tilting angle remains the same as before adjustment. Is it possible that the 2011 RX350 doesn't support this programmable feature? The original tilting angle is really not low enough.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi J L, Unfortunately they hadn't introduced the programmable feature yet. The outside mirrors on your year RX are call "linked" but not programmable. This is from page 88 in the online version of your owner's manual: drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM48B53U/pdf/OM48B53U.pdf
      Linked mirror function when reversing:
      The outside rear view mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle
      is reversing in order to give a better view of the ground. This function only operates
      when either the “L” or “R” mirror select button is selected.
      I'm sorry it is not compatible. Thanks so much for tuning in though.

    My side mirrors in my 2016 rx 350 used to close when I lock vehicle and now there not closing is there something wrong with my key fob I changed the battery recently and its not locking car property or my side mirrors won't turn in what and I doing wrong do I need to reset my key fob?

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! It sounds like the "Auto" folding feature on your side mirrors may have been turned off. Take a look at the buttons inside the driver's door, above the mirror adjustment pad. Look for a button with the word "Auto" on it. Press it to see a light come on, or press down if it is a toggle style. That should get them folding again when you lock the RX. Hope this helps.

    Question: what if you decide you don't want the DRIVER side to move anymore. How do you bring that back to non movement? Middle position wouldn't work if I still want PASSENGER side to move but no longer DRIVER side. Anybody know?

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The only customization is to have them both move when the car is put into reverse. So the best workaround is to program each mirror to where you want it to be and if you don't want the driver side mirror to appear like it moved, then adjust it to match the driving position. Put the car back in Park and the preferences are saved. I hope this helps. Thanks for being here.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sahan, I'm sorry to hear that both mirrors aren't tilting in reverse. I'm not familiar with the Toyota premio. We don't have that model at Lexus, but the technology should work in the same way. If you have programmable side mirrors, try to reprogram them to the position you want, then put the car in Park and then test it in Revers to see if the setting was saved. If not, take the vehicle to your Toyota dealership to have the mirror recalibrated and see if that will take car of it for you. All the best.

    Can I program mirrors to fold in automatically when ignition is turned off? Like in my garage, I don't like to lock the vehicle in my garage, and the mirrors get in the way.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jim, Unfortunately the auto folding mirrors are linked to the locking function and that is not customizable. You can push the power fold button when you pull in to the garage, then use the "Auto" button to open them when you exit the garage so they will close automatically when you next lock your vehicle. Hop e this helps. Thanks for tuning in.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Amjad! Thanks for watching! Auto folding mirrors are optional on the NX, so it will depend on the specific package you have on your NX F-Sport. They are all packaged differently in different parts of the country. If you see the word "Auto" on the rocker/toggle button for opening and closing the side mirrors then you're good to go. If it is blank in the center, then it is not equipped with auto folding mirrors. I hope this helps :)

Adjust each side mirror to the position you want, then put your Lexus back into Park. The new positions will be memorized if they are programmable. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    I have the rx350 where the driver side mirror will move up and down when in reverse, but the passenger mirror will move inwards a bit (like how your video shows at 1:13) and then move up and down. How do you fix this so the mirror only moves up and down and not inward outward

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Grace! Sorry for the delay. Sick kiddo at home. Thanks for watching. If your mirrors are programmable, make sure to park in a safe place with the RX turned on. Keep your foot on the brake, put the RX in Reverse, adjust the mirrors to the position you want when reversing, then go back to Park. It should now be saved to the new position. If you don't want them to tilt at all just select the neutral position on the "left/right" mirror adjustor buttons. (So that neither L or R have a light by them.) I hope one of these steps works for you. Thanks again.

      Hi Mohammed. Thanks for tuning in. It will depend on the equipment on your CT, but according to the online Owner's Manual on page: 137: drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM76215U/pdf/OM76215U.pdf It looks like they will tilt in reverse if you have the Driver Position Memory feature, but they are not programmable. The amount of tilt will depend on the saved driving mirror position. Hope this helps. :)

    Does this work on a 2013 Lexus gs350?

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Raaed, It looks like the 2013 GS has a similar version. Here's what I see in the Owner's Manual about how to operate it: drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM30C34U/pdf/OM30C34U.pdf
      Adjusting the steering wheel and mirrors - Page 143
      ■Mirror angle can be adjusted when
      The engine switch is in ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode.
      ■Linked mirror function when reversing
      ●When either “L” or “R” of the mirror select switch is selected, the outside rear view
      mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle is reversing in order
      to give a better view of the ground. To disable this function, select neither “L” nor
      “R”.
      ●If the mirror angle adjustment switch is operated while the linked mirror function is
      in operation, the angle and position of the mirrors can be remembered, and the
      mirrors will operate at the angle adjusted to the last time the linked mirror function
      was operated.
      However, because the mirrors move based on the angle they are in when the linked
      mirror function is not operating, the mirror angle when the linked mirror function is
      operating will also be changed if the mirrors are adjusted while the function is not
      operating.

      @@raaedchhapra2991 You bet. Sorry the OM instructions are not quite as clear. It seems like it might not save in the exact same way. I would try to follow the current steps: set you driving mirror position, save your Driver Position Memory, select either L or R, put the car in Reverse keeping your foot on the brake, adjust the mirrors to where you want them for backing up, put the GS back into Park. Then try Reverse again and see if it held the customization. Fingers crossed for you. The 2013 is the model year for a lot of changes for the GS, so hopefully this is one. :)
