I just realized while parking my right mirror won’t tilt down. Yes, I made sure the settings were correct on the door. What’s even more odd, the left mirror tilts when the right and left button is pressed down.
Hi! For cars with this feature, the tilt in reverse feature will tilt both mirrors when you shift into reverse, no matter if the mirror selector is on L or R. If neither L nor R are selected, the mirrors will not tilt. I recommend the following: apply the brake, put the vehicle in Reverse, adjust both mirrors to the position you want each of them in when you are reversing, put the vehicle in Park. If you have programmable side mirrors, these new adjustments will be saved. Make sure either L or R is selected, shift to Reverse to test. 👍
The issue is when I select L the left mirror tilts down when the car is in reverse. When I select R the left mirror is the tilting the right mirror isn’t. Basically the right mirror isn’t tilting at all when the car is in reverse.
@@shakirahshareef393 If you follow the steps for programming and it is still not working you will need to take the vehicle in for service. Thanks so much for being here.
😂 better get it taken care of while it's under warranty unless you want a costly repair later. It's a pointless feature you'd be better off not having included on the model you purchase
Hi Fahad, Thanks for checking in. If this is for tilt-in reverse: I would try to reprogram the tilt-down in reverse position and see if it will save the adjustment for you. If not, then I would take it to your Lexus dealer so a technician can determine why it is not adjusting when in reverse like your left mirror. If this is for the power fold feature, I would take it to your Lexus dealer. It may need to be recalibrated. Hope this helps.
I was sorely disappointed when I found out that my 2019 es350 f-sport requires that I get out and fold my mirrors in manually. What other car that costs this much requires that?
I hear you, Jerrl. It is always a mystery to see what the builders of any piece of equipment decide on. I'm sure there is a method to the madness, so to speak, but I know it can be disappointing when a feature that feel so important is not included. Hopefully you are loving a lot of other things about your vehicle.
@@NorthsideLexus I understand Lexus likes to take the "old but reliable" approach vs "new but unreliable" approach but this was a feature that was really missing. Even my Uncle's 2016 Kia has these folding mirrors. lol
Hi Everett, not all models have the automatic feature for the power side mirrors. It seems to be getting more and more popular, even on the sedans. Hopefully we will see it offered on more models in the future. Thanks very much for tuning in!
Anyone could help me with Lexus is220d. How to program mirrors in this model? Was work before I disconnect the battery. Now I need to program all again.
Hi1175ghost, if you need to recalibrate the mirrors that might need to be done at a Lexus dealer. Once they are calibrated you can follow the normal adjustment process in this video.
Hi Bass, Sorry to hear your frustration. Not all vehicles have the auto folding mirrors, but they have power folding mirrors. It sounds like that's how your vehicle is equipped. Sorry about that. Wish I could help more.
I can't see why this is good for anything except jacking the price up on a vehicle & a costly repair when it inevitably fails at some point. Or if you drive like an A-hole & don't want some motorcyclist slapping your mirror off after you cut him off on the highway.
Hi! The auto folding side mirrors are usually best appreciated giving you a visual indication that the car is locked people also like to have them when they are parked in a narrow spot and you want a little more room to maneuver around the side of the car.
Thank you Meliss for this great tutorial. Even after doing it a million times, I seem to keep forgetting how it works. Keep up the good work!

That’s awesome! It will be so exciting when they start coming in!

My 2023 rx350 mirrors just today stopped folding when I touch the door handle. 😕
Hopefully this helped you turn the feature back on. Make sure you have either L or R selected so the mirrors will tilt in reverse. :)
Thank you👍

Is there any aftermarket solution to add on this function?
Hi David, Unfortunately this is a setting that has to be installed at the factory. Thanks so much for checking in.

Always good to be informed. Even if you don't have it on your current vehicle, you might have it on a future one :)
