Even worse is in many games it just drops the general vibrancy just to make the sun and certain lights brighter in comparison as in SDR the display still is run at full brightness for the brightest looking elements. Did you have this in efficiency the whole time? calling this car slow is hilarious, its not slow at all, the 30-80mph time on it is faster than a mk7 Golf R, Audi S3, Mercedes A35 AMG and BMW M135i. It's very nearly as fast as the B58 powered BMW M340/440i from 30-80mph (Real world driving) - the 0-30mph sprint does not give you 100% power to preserve battery and make it a more enjoyable driving experience, i.e. not throwing you and your passengers back in your seat unnecessarily- but 30mph onwards its a rocketship. It's also faster than the BMW X5 40i and Mercedes GLE 53 AMG - its main petrol competitors, by a fair bit. It's able to have all of that speed (which is more than enough) whilst maintaining its level of luxury, which is probably the highest level of any EV, and far more luxurious than any Petrol SUV
They don't do enough of it for a dedicated channel. Plus it fits the short circuit formula pretty well. A quick overview, with more focus on look and feel rather than specs. @@KeppyKep short circuit is an unboxing channel or a first look channel. @@haywoodjablome440 ah yes we got the car expert right here
@@haywoodjablome440 I am pretty sure that this is an inflatable space saver spare tire. Usually cars equipped with these have an air compressor to inflate it.
@@haywoodjablome440 Every car and truck I've ever owned over the last 23 years including my new 2021 has had an air filled spare tire.

That intro song for that car at 0:08 - 0:16 is so good. We need a full song made out of that so we can blast that in our EVs! So good!
Alex is extremely qualified for car reviews 🙂
Alex being as nit picky and needlessly annoyed by certain things (sometimes to a fault lol) makes him great at car reviews.
"Ooodi e-tron"
Sounded more like he was saying awdeeeh.. I've always heard it as owdee
@@actschp1 you're right - it is "ow-dee", not "or-dee"
How do people still not know how to say Audi correctly?
@Taistelu_pelto congrats! you can spell, if you get better at it, maybe you can start working on your shapes
As a German I just want to get in here and say you are all wrong
I love the fact that Alex doesn't care too much about specs. Not only everybody else emphasis it's fast and loaded with the latest tech, but also we can check that by ourselves. We really need the impressions and the critics from somebody we trust, though. Keep being not neutral, please, but do not become parcial either, like most car reviewers that simply "love" the industry too much to challenge it on their videos. I loved your job, and I'm looking forward for the next masterpiece like this one.
"If you want to set some cougar traps..."
Alex is speaking from his heyday experience, I see.
I can't stop saying how much I enjoy Alex on car reviews. Well, i enjoy Alex on everything but this man was born to make car reviews.
This video would look crazy in HDR
They film this in HDR but TH-cam doesn’t support it but apparently on floatplane you can view it in HDR.
@@joeserra9825 hdr is on TH-cam
@@Marct536 It is but only TH-cam's proprietary HDR format. If they record in 12bit Dolby Vision or HDR 10 with dynamic meta data it wouldn't convert on TH-cam.
Personally I think videos look better in SDR. I have the 1000nit G Sync Ultimate display, but turning on HDR locks your color controls and makes everything look dull. Even worse is in many games it just drops the general vibrancy just to make the sun and certain lights brighter in comparison as in SDR the display still is run at full brightness for the brightest looking elements. So it just means less lighting for random objects which means also weaker color performance.
@@joeserra9825 I’m pretty sure you’re wrong on both points - last I checked floatplane didn’t support HDR (not sure though) and I watch plenty of HDR content on TH-cam, it’s well supported on many platforms.
As a Mk7 GTI owner, felt lined door pockets is truly an underrated feature and I wish every car had them, not only just for water bottles and things to not bump around, but because my EZpass sticks to it when I go on road trips.
"Just steal from audi" lmao they don't have to do that they are the part of the same volkswagen group anyway
I think that was the point, go down one floor and steal from your colleagues
Like borrowing from friends/family without the intent to return.
These car videos are amazing! The only thing I'd add would be a little more focus on the technology side of the car, like the nerdy stuff about processors, memory, resolutions and what is the system based on.
Man they're really getting into cars
Yeah that's how you drive them
Love it when car nerd engineers do car reviews, they just get it! Such a fun addition to the channel, Alex is nailing it
Ok, I'll get right on that boss..... 5 years from now
How can anyone *hate* driving??
Driving is so much fun 😆
I abandoned any notion that this might reasonably priced when you mentioned the Volcano Ash.
You didn’t even look or mention the DMD headlights. I know not available in the US and Canada but the rest of the world has the possibility of using a proper projector with 1.3 Million pixels in each headlamp. Visual lane assist is so awesome.
Alex: "mob bosses, invest in these"
Aubs: "mall bosses..."
My grandparents neighbors got an e-tron hybrid in 2018 and it's rlly nice lol
I drive like an elderly person so this car sounds great haha.
You can drive any car chillo millo btw
Keep the car reviews coming Alex. As someone who drives a turbo manual hatchback, keep making comparisons
Can you review the Volvo XC40 next?
Or the C40 when it's available
CarWoW did a video on it just today! Includes 6 EVs. Might worth a check to checking it out ;)
Did you have this in efficiency the whole time? calling this car slow is hilarious, its not slow at all, the 30-80mph time on it is faster than a mk7 Golf R, Audi S3, Mercedes A35 AMG and BMW M135i.
“COUGAR Trap” LMAOOOOO
Alex guessed the customers for this car perfectly, my mom would love this
Yep. My mom owns the regular version (sportback option is too expensive imo) and loves it.
Seems weird this is on short circuit, they should make a car review channel
They don't do enough of it for a dedicated channel.
Plus it fits the short circuit formula pretty well. A quick overview, with more focus on look and feel rather than specs.
The idea for short circuit was also originally a place to dump random stuff that they wanted to do, but didn't really fit on the main channel. This fits that category perfectly.
@@KeppyKep short circuit is an unboxing channel or a first look channel. It is clear Alex spent some time on this review, he knows about the internal gadgets inside out, and even gives an opinion about how it drives. It's pretty much a full blown review at this point. When Brandon does his camera reviews on this channel, he is holding those cameras for the first time and does an overview and first impression - different from what Alex is doing with car reviews. The last car review was a week ago with the mini Cooper. A video a week is not bad for TH-cam. Hire a couple of people dedicated to the channel, and 1 video every week or 2 is possible.
218 miles? That doesn't even get me to Vegas. Yo, SoCal peeps! Once you get to the pass, where the heck are we charging before we hit Vegas? Baker? F that!
The armrest was definitely designed for those cougars. Every rich mom I've seen drive drives right on top of the wheel, it's like they are afraid it will run away from them and they have to hug it. So why would they give you a bigger armrest when the vast majority of owners won't use it
Most driver's teachers in EU tell you to not rest your wrist on the door typically. They don't like it for X reason. Since it is German engineering, I bet that has an influence on it.
I don't understand why car makers keep making digital touchscreen controls for basic stuff like air conditioning, mechanical buttons are so much better at it
Thats actually why the Etron is great. The controls you can get to in the screen, still have buttons and stand alone controls. Most Teslas has that one screen that controls everything. Audi took the grown up route and kept buttons. The volume knob is best I've ever seen in any car I've been in since the 60s as a 1980 baby.
The term "Ass-conditioning" needs to be normalized for ventilated seats 😁
Edit: wagons ftw
gotta agree with you on that one
Love how he calls the sunshade a "privacy screen".
Alex: I thought was kind of just like a wagon, but no it is proper big.

First time hearing Audi pronounced Aadi.
yeah ive only ever heard it pronounced as "ow-dee"
@@neoburst1 I've heard both, doesn't matter really.
I think it's time for LMG to have a dedicated automotive channel.
228 miles isn’t really that good for 2021
I had driven Audi Q7 (2017) and I think the Audi navigation is much better than phones in a big city like Shanghai, where GPS signal is spotty at best due to the sky scrapers.
Especially the virtual route and lane information displayed at where the rev counter is. Helps a lot not missing an exit at complex interchanges.

This is one of the most inefficient EVs
And it's still more efficient than all ICE cars

I didn't realize this was a thing I wanted, but after watching a number of these, apparently it is.
I am happy that you are wagon person! One day everyone understands wagons are the ultimate cars.
I saw the SUV version of this Audi E-tron on the road two weeks ago and we were doing 100 km/h and I was in my ICE car behind the E-tron on passing lane and were going to pass some cars because the speed limit was 120 km/h. I slammed on my accelerator and I thought I accelerate nicely. Then the E-tron slammed on the accelerator and oh boy it just seriously pulled. It even kicked up rocks at 100 km/h speed! It over took 3 cars within like 2 seconds. I had to spend a good while to pass those same 3 cars.
That moment cemented my thoughts on getting an EV and not just any EV but Tesla Model 3 Performance. EVs just have colossal amounts of torque and they pull like mad. They have such powerful motors and ICE cars are always left eating dust when EV comes on the scene and starts pulling.
First thing he talks about is how “massive” it is. A giggled watching this in my Expedition.
One thing I loved about this vid is how bro smiles and laughs constantly, very friendly vid to see.
No, I'm not geh...
You got me with the cougar trap...... Two thumbs up boys! 👍👍
I like how you are making these car videos.
My wife measures trunk sizes by how many bodies can fit in it.
After seeing the EQS and IX review.. I think Audi seems to have nailed this one!
Great Video Overall, 2 things, 218-mile range isn't good at all especially for this price, and towing is why people don't buy wagons in the US.
Audi should step up their range game in their EVs. Like only, give or take 300kms of range for that price ain't a good option.
These reviews keep improving each time hats off to you Alex good job, didn't hear you say "freeking" every other sentence so I'm very happy. Just something to note saying "you will hate the first week because there are so many options you need to work out" probably could have been worded better. At 77-100k that's called taylor making me a car to your driving needs. All this being said I must say your car reviews are far more engaging than the LTT ones hosted by Linus, keep up the great work Alex and the rest of the team!
It's nice to see tech youtube channel that reviews real cars and not just Teslas.
Alex's needs to make a channel just for these car reviews! It's that damn good!!!
Saw one of these at work today. As much as the looks impressed me it doesn't differentiate itself from other Audis enough to stand out. Never went inside tho so I can't speak to how it drives or feels inside.
I was super excited cause I saw something with 4 rings, then he had to go and "aww-dee". Its "ow-dee" like when you hit your knee you say "ow" in ouch.
