I work in the gold mines here in the United States, and I'm so happy to see that some things are universal to the mining experience! Only thing missing for me is the supervisor with a lump of coal up his ass saying "We've got to keep up production!"

I haven’t flown with them for a while but was made to feel right at home last time I flew with them back in 2018. I’ve had pretty good service from Virgin Australia since air travel opened up again 👍😄✈️

Worked in Open Cast in South Australia in the early 1980's. Very accurate portrayal of life. Back then half of us were stacking away the $$ flat out and the other half were pissing it all up against the wall. Oh, and our mine was wet. Some of the haul truck operators were 'bottle of bundy a night' guys.... Try that today and see how you get on🤔

You forgot the 5am flights out, where you have to get up at 2:30am and battle the depression and fatigue as you realize that you spent your week off smoking crack the first 4 days and dread going back up for another swing, or how there's no Zoo magazines to read on smoko anymore.
The depression is real when you're the only one on your crew who goes around bustin' your ass getting shit done, when you've had f-all rest on your break.
smoke weed = sit on the couch for 13 hours straight
smoke crack = drive a dozer around in circles for 13 days straight and make 600k

Become a sparky in a dewatering crew! All you do is wire up bore pumps to the headworks, you'll learn how soft-starters work and genset tweaking.
