The most underrated trilogy on the 3ds eShop are "The Denpa Men" games, they're a series of rpgs made by the guys who developed Pokémon Colosseum/XD Gale of Darkness.
I discovered those games recently but haven’t bought any of them yet. Hoping for a sale, but if it doesn’t happen before the shop closes then I’ll buy them last-minute

Also, i know many people who have collections of games and play random ones in their collection I watched a video the other day of someone using a 420GB SD card and hacky workarounds to get every single North American 3DS game (around 300 games and SD was full, meaning the average size was over a gigabyte for every game)
thing is, the issue is not even the card, but the amount of things on the home menu. Since you have a lot of space, you are compelled to go near its limit and that is the issue. I highly recommend to avoid forwarders if you can; keep the home screen just for stuff that you can't run otherwise and in my experience using folders to sort everything is slightly faster. I do understand the reason to use bigger cards thoug, yes, you will not play all the games at the same time but I think installing into the console is extra annoying and lenghty so if I can avoid micro managing files and games to play another ones I will.
Hey, this might be a silly question, but are micro SD cards with an adapter compatible with the 2ds, or should I get a chunky "normal" SD card? I tried googling but nothing is really helpful
It should also be noted that it's SNES games that use any kind of enhancement chips will probably have issues running on a regular 2DS/3DS. There is a Wikipedia page of all the enhancement chips and games that use them; so for anybody looking to emulate specific SNES games on a regular 2DS/3DS, make sure to look and see if that game uses an enhancement chip.
Modding my system was definitely worth it! I’m so happy that the GBA games have CIAs! I was extremely happy knowing that I could play the GBA DKC and Rayman games on my 2DSXL.
One thing I love to use on it is the Twilight Menu++ because it revokes the need to buy an R4 to play DS Games. Its a really good app overall! Highly recommend it. Surprised you didn't had the app though.
not only twilight menu, but there's also forwarders that let you just run the games from your home menu, which is really cool (i have a small collection of DS games stored there, including the original Bowser's inside story)

@@cinnamoone3553 the issue with forwarders is that you can reach the maximum title size of the 3DS quite easily by putting all on the home menu, that is why I recommend to let the home menu with just 3DS games and the homebrew channel there (since it replaces the health and safety instead of adding another title) The console only allows up to 300 titles on the home screen, if you install more they simply dont show anymore. Reaching 300 titles on 3DS alone is a bit difficult, but installing homebrew and all forwarders and Virtual Console stuff it is easy to reach this limit. There is a way to circumvent this with 3DS bank but I found a bit annoying to use, I just find it way easier to just start DS games into Twilight Menu if I want them, if I want to use apps I open into Homebrew Channel, insteead of making these showing all the time.... Other thing is that when you go near this title limit, everytime the home menu loads for the first time it will take longer to do so.
Yeah only problem is it isn't quite good enough for n64 and ps1 games there really no handheld except for the switch you can mod for that. which isn't easy to mod if you have a newer model.
whenever you get the money to purchase one I highly recommend it you will never have to worry about how much a 3DS game is considering you can just play them all without any worry

I homebrewed my 2ds a while ago but I bought a new sdhc card with 128gb and it came yesterday and I'm having a blast installing my favs, I also installed twilight menu and Its a must have !!

I HATE it when people mention the eShop closure without mentioning the download-only games. Those can't just be replaced by physical cartridges. Also, for anyone who refuses to use the text tutorial and would rather watch a video, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE that the guide is for YOUR firmware version and YOUR model of 3DS/2DS, and make sure it's from a reliable creator. You could also cross-reference with the text tutorial if you want.
I'd rather spend 2-3 hours doing all of the steps correctly with the text guide than following a video guide and having to go back, check if i did the same thing, and in the end, risking getting my device bricked
@@asie the issue with video guides is the algorythmic nature of the TH-cam. Thing is, the platform will recommend videos that gets a lot of views so it is easier for you to see outdated guides. When a person updates a text guide it is not affected by metrics like a video does, but when someone uploads a video with updated tips and tools it wont get as many views as much as the ones that already exist and are out of date.
@Blueisjr title doesnt matter much especially when it is cut when playing through the phone for example, an outdated video guide it still will be more recomended because it will naturally have more watch time as it goes on than a new video
Donkey Kong did ran cause besides being pre rendered 3D graphics, they were turned into sprites, everything was 3D renders turned into sprites, and since they were still sprites not using any of the SNES expansion chips like the Super FX they're pretty much an SNES like any other regular one, they're no more demanding than Super Mario World, and such it will run perfectly

I've modded a standard 2ds before and from my experience it works just fine. Boot time might be ever so slightly longer (I'm talking like 5 seconds) than any other console, but aside from that everything runs smoothly. Like the video said, if you follow every step you should be alright.

It's hard to say, their technicians seem to love getting as much as they can out of their hardware and you've got to admire their work ethic and drive, but once they have a successor, I suspect that all the teams jump ship to the newer unexplored hardware. Yes, it’s the PC port of sm64. It was then ported to the 3ds. I know the render96 variant will play sm64 in widescreen and 60fps, but I don’t know if it runs just as well on old 3ds systems. Either way, a version of the PC port should run at 30fps at least.
The 2DS is not just only cheaper it also a lot easier to repairing without any hinges then the other 3DS models. Repairing an 2DS is like repairing an Original Gameboy Advance.

Well, you can kind of still play yoshi's island on 3ds, but it's the gba mario advance 3 version, which has screen crunch, worse audio, but it also has voice acting for yoshi.
I just got 2 Nintendo 2DS’ off a job recently (I do biohazard and hoarding clean out so a lot of people throw away consoles / electronics that need simple repairs and they just don’t want them) My blue one needed a new battery My white and red one just needed the port cleaned out so it could charge 😫

Sorry for the dumb question, but does homebrew allow you to directly download eShop games, or do you have to get the games from a ROM site? I'm mainly asking for the GBA ambassador games and the eShop download only titles.
on top of that, you can run basically any supported console's games via virtual console injects, including modded games (all the Pokemon ROM hacks you could ever want, and then some)

There is absolutely no reason that any SNES game should have technical issues running on the regular 2DS. It's leagues more powerful than the SNES ever was, and many SNES games were sold directly on the eshop for virtual console
Excuse me, i have to ask, are the black borders around the screen more prominent on one side than the other? Or is this just a result of recording? I just noticed my 2ds black borders are bigger on the left side, and do not know if that is something to be expected due to factory errors, or if it means something bad happened to my console

The maximum RECOMMENDED is 128gb, anything larger results in EXTREMELY LONG boot times (I'm talking over a minute)

2DS is nice and cheap but it's quite slow once you've got custom firmware. The faster loading on the new models is really nice to have.

The 2DS is not just only cheaper it also a lot easier to repairing without any hinges then the other 3DS models. Repairing an 2DS is like repairing an Original Gameboy Advance.

Well, you can kind of still play yoshi's island on 3ds, but it's the gba mario advance 3 version, which has screen crunch, worse audio, but it also has voice acting for yoshi.

I just got 2 Nintendo 2DS’ off a job recently (I do biohazard and hoarding clean out so a lot of people throw away consoles / electronics that need simple repairs and they just don’t want them)
My blue one needed a new battery
My white and red one just needed the port cleaned out so it could charge 😫

Sorry for the dumb question, but does homebrew allow you to directly download eShop games, or do you have to get the games from a ROM site? I'm mainly asking for the GBA ambassador games and the eShop download only titles.
you can’t download them directly from the eShop, but the online Hshop provides the .cia files

on top of that, you can run basically any supported console's games via virtual console injects, including modded games (all the Pokemon ROM hacks you could ever want, and then some)

That's exactly why Nintendo didn't offer SNES game for VC on those systems. They needed to make sure any games would run flawlessly, with the VC options running on top (suspend, save states, etc).

The ambassador program was unfair, I didnt get mine and I got my 3ds when it came out in america when it was still 300 bucks
There is absolutely no reason that any SNES game should have technical issues running on the regular 2DS. It's leagues more powerful than the SNES ever was, and many SNES games were sold directly on the eshop for virtual console
You can also play ds games from the sd card but not all of them are compatible

i reccomend a 64 gb sd card because over 128 gb when there are "operation" to the sd card, its gonna be slow

Excuse me, i have to ask, are the black borders around the screen more prominent on one side than the other? Or is this just a result of recording?
I just noticed my 2ds black borders are bigger on the left side, and do not know if that is something to be expected due to factory errors, or if it means something bad happened to my console
