    Dumb, honest question:
    Can this be used to extend the range of a drone?

    • @iVcancom
      @iVcancom  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, from 10 kilometers to 150 kilometers, it supports extending the range of the drone, but first you have to make sure that your drone has enough power to fly longer distances.

    the testing environment also affects the results... meaning, having water helps amplify the distance.. that is why you will see many antennas, AM/FM and Tv broadcasters setting antennas near or on water when available.. nevertheless, it has to be a really good broadcast equipment to take advantage of this Mother Nature help...

    Wait wait wait, I've designed and installed countless wireless systems for IP networks. There is little to no chance of a UAV connecting video via WiFi at significant distances via ISM + IP. WiFi networks inherently have certain delays, beacons etc. so they work better at short distances with numerous other clients. In the USA for example, unless you on top of a mountain your results are going to be not so great, that is precisely why they tested this on top of a mountain! Almost all drone wireless systems use direct digital/analog modulation like FM without the TCP IP layer or transport overhead. You could use 100Watts (not legally) at that frequency, but 2.4/5.8ghz bands are overpopulated for any chance of this working in typical environments, unless the range is extremely short.

      @iVcancom  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks. You are professional.
      Frequency can be chosen from 800Mhz, 1.4G, or 2.4G.
      If the frequency has interfered, please turn on the frequency hopping function. It will choose the strongest strength frequency.
      One of my clients chose 5.8G as the transmission frequency. The product does not use Wi-Fi technology. Please check our 110km test video. th-cam.com/video/r1X4AU1togE/w-d-xo.html

    • @modernrice
      @modernrice 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@fjs1111That isn't necessarily true. It sounds like they're using a custom physical layer (possibly a modification of DVB-S2), and what seems like a custom Windows driver to make the hardware appear like a regular NIC that can interface with the Windows IP stack. Since there's only one hop from transmitter to receiver, latency is kept pretty low.

    • @fjs1111
      @fjs1111 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@modernrice While it could be possible, in this case that's not what they are using. They are using TCPIP + Wifi. DVB will not run over IP without additional encapsulation and that means extra link layers. Even though its Point to Point, WiFi at the Physical layer was not intended for this and this is exactly why we have 3G/4G/LTE, etc. Even WiMax is modified version of WiFi with design spec of distance.
