I don't like the fact that you have to use only Sonic to get all the extras in Sonic CD. Once DA Garden and everything's unlocked, can you then use any of the 4 characters afterwards? Or is just Sonic only?
For extras you need sonic, but there is also a time attack mode for the collection as a whole if you navigate the main menu and find your record times you can run any character on any level
Trying to get all the special stage times under 4 mins, which is quite the chore with how bad the controls are....and how hard would it been for them to have a restart or quit option? I mess up, and I still have to take the time and finish the level just to try again. Its totally ridiculous.
@@StickmanGuides I tried seeing if closing and restarting was faster.....not really, unless you are just doing an insanely bad run in the special stage.....which I totally have a few times....lol. Its quite frustrating.
@@Jedimichael yeah you shouldn't have to even resort to that to begin with if the devs just added a quit game button. Hopefully it's something they look into
Seeing as how nobody answered your question, incase you still are wondering a month later. The over all time has to basically be, 3:59 or less. I'm at 4:08 and trying to shave off those 8 - 9 seconds on any level is just killing me.
At the moment I can't find a working method. For now I don't think it's possible to play as Tails in level select, or go Super Sonic when you break a super monitor in debug mode, but I'll keep you updated. There's another way where you can enter 32-8 in sound test to see the scrapped Desert Dazzle image and then head to level select to play as Tails, but that seems to not work here
Sonic Origins isn't a recreation of Sonic Jam. Sonic Origins has different remakes with new features, and the addition of Sonic CD, which was cut from Sonic Jam. Sonic Jam technically has three games.
For some reason this game's kinda weird with saving Extras. What I usually do is go back in time attack, wait for the ring icon at the bottom right, then go back to title screen to head into extras and they'll reunlock

well you'll appreciate that it's not the special stages where the hitbox is almost impossible to find
MM Act 3 is easily worst level in CD.
They basically crapped out a bunch of random nonsense as level design.

If it's like the mobile port, you just start a normal level as tails then quit out then access level select. No idea if that works here though
