As far as the codes added for Mania plus i think they're a response to the stuff myself and others were doing editing the code for the game, since they probably didn't know people wanted Egg Reverie Super Sonic in all levels, Max Control, ect. but suddenly in plus they were added, interesting right? As far as Stealth's birthday and the Squirrels, it's because his OC is a Squirrel.

19:21 That is true. After viewing that good looking mockup picture of Desert Dazzle, the Stage Select screen appears and you get to play as Tails (in the original 2011 release only). In Origins, you can't play as Tails in this way. This applies to both Classic & Anniversary Modes.

How do I get debug in s3&k
According to the sonic 3 manual the marble garden act 1 boss is considered as a badnik, so i thought that could become a pinquinator too but it didn't, it would be really funny though

I’ve NEVER discovered these codes in the Sonic 1 & 2 mobile ports, so this was insane to find out!
I have to try Sonic 1 with 7 emeralds and the elemental shields now

I'm annoyed that they removed the remastered OST from 2013 versions of Sonic 1 & 2
At least they could add it to the anniversary mode
4:26 You can actually play as Knuckles and Tails in Sonic 1
1. Select Sonic and Tails as your character
2. Select No-Save Mode
3. Press all letters in Sega or press Up, Down, Left,Right
4. Let the title screen play out so the demo starts.
5. Enter Level Select and put player to 03
6. Start any act and you will start as Knuckles and Tails.
I tested it and IT WORKS!!!
About the debug mode on mobile activating the pause screen, if you're playing the free version with ads an ad plays every time you unpause the game, meaning that using debug mode on the free version triggers an ad every time you want to switch debug mode on or off since it pauses the game forcing you to unpause and trigger an ad. Even worse, it makes it so that the B button on a connected controller pauses the game too (even without debug mode on) which is really awkward, and also carries over to the PC decomp if you use an up to date apk to install it (which you're encouraged to since you're supposed to extract your own apk, but the creator of the decomp themself said that the only way to stop B from pausing the game is to use an older apk)

ya'll, you shouldn't be hating sega, they're trying to make money over their *free* game. of course they're gonna use messy tactics to do so, but money is money.
also, if you unpause fast enough, it doesn't play an ad. i've been using debug mode with no ad problems, unless i actually pause it for over a minute.
Also here is a another thing in the sonic 1 debug if you go to marble zone with the debug you can select a weird sphere item and if you use it then the background will have the spheres rotating kinda weird but it was in the sonic 1 prototype so thats cool that they brought it back
Also in sonic 2 if you go to oil ocean zone with debug you can see a ball item like the one we see in green hill zone of sonic 1

fun fact about the speed caps: the toggles in Sonic 1 don't turn them on or off, but they fix a poor programming decision that instead of preventing Sonic from accelerating past a certain speed by undoing the acceleration if he's going faster than the top speed, it just sets his speed back to said top speed
this is also only done if the direction you're pressing on the dpad matches the direction Sonic is going, so if you don't touch the dpad, you'll be able to exceed that speed by going down a slope and keep it until you press the dpad in the direction you're going in, suddenly slowing you down in sonic 1, and only in the air in sonic 2 because the cap logic is separate for each direction and between air and ground, and they forgot to reprogram the air speed caps
The Simon wai build also used mystic cave 2 player, track. 10 is the track used in the final release of sonic 2
For some weird reason when setting items to + S3 it permanently removes roll lock during the run meaning you can use the dropdash like in origins CD, origins S3 & mania, this roll lock is even gone with a shield, but in S2 enabling S3 items does the same thing when you're purely base form sonic but when getting a shield roll lock is restored which doesn't happen in sonic 1 (unless the latest patch changed this)
Using the insta shield removes the lock. You have to use it every time you jump though

Know about that one blue super sonic glitch from sonic mania? Here's a little glitch tip
(I don't know if this works on sonic origins or if it's been patched out from the mobile versions, but anyways) If you activate debug mode while super sonic is about to run out of rings (the timing is very precise) sonic will turn into super sonic, but no powers, and normal abilities, can still get hit and lose your life, don't recommend dying though, that'll reset his sprite to his default ones and also if you complete a level, but oh well
why am i mentioning this? Idk, just thought it would be an interesting thing to share, it's just a pretty interesting and peculiar glitch

Something very weird I found in Sonic Mania, when you don't have the Plus DLC and you go into Mania mode, activate Debug mode, go to no save mode and time it so that you have debug mode activated in the opening Cutscene of Mania, use the sign post to complete the level and for some reason you're in Angel Island zone without the Plus DLC, but when you make it too the end of the level and free Mighty and Ray, you are treated too Sonic and Sonic, but anyway when you finish those sections using debug mode skip the cutscene where the egg heavy's are reactivated and you are treated too Green Hill Zone act 1 and 2 with their Maina Plus layouts and object placements, unfortunately the special stages are the same as Mania but it's something weird I found

Because some dlc work by having the new content in the download while others get the new files in an update and the dlc only gives you access to it but sonic mania without the plus dlc seems to be a mix some things are there like files for the encore music and alternative colour palette but if you a mod loader to enable encore mode or to only play as mighty or ray it just doesn’t do anything as a matter of fact i tested that for this video as i have sonic mania without dlc on steam and plus on Nintendo switch
@@dshaynietheawesome huh that's weird (the DLC in Mania being mixed up) but is it possible too play the entirety of Encore mode without the DLC or not because I only tested this on my Xbox One S and it doesn't let me past Encore mode but something weird is that with the DLC being mixed up, when I check the file size for the Encore mode DLC (via games and ad-ons when you select the game via the options menu on Xbox) it says it's only 33.3 megabytes, which is a similar file size to DLC which is simply null data (such as the car packs in Forza Horizon 3 and 4, the Spiderman character pack in Lego Marvel Avengers and the Super Sonic DLC in Sonic Forces) but then again seeing as Sonic Mania is a very small game (only being around 200-300 megabytes in size) I can see how that can happen

In the anniversery mode in sonic 3, enable debug mode, go to either the gumball or the floating spheres bonus stages, you could switch through the spheres, there you could find the 1up, and yes, they are the coins 😮

Level select and debug mode in the classic sonic games for mobile is nice cause we get to make legends like this but also sometimes they have unused content from the development of these games in the form of items and objects that never made it into the game plus the codes for sound test are kinda cool and give some funni effects and let's just say that christan whitehead and simon made the sonic 1 and 2 remake damn good plus mania got good stuff and hope origins plus fixes the problems and complaints it has which is a laundry list

I wonder...perhaps, instead of when you had all 7 emeralds already, could you have gotten #7 and thus the Super form from Hidden Palace? That game is, after all, the first appearance of both of those things, so it would have made sense to give them an in-context introduction.

In sonic mania plus:if you wanna play knux and tails use debug mode there are couple steps
Step 1:play as sonic and tails then start the game (mania mode only)
Step 2:go in debug mode then find the monitor was add character from encore mode
Step 3:spindash at monitor add character, when knuckles icon in monitor after tails spindash at it
Now you are playing as knux and tails in mania mode
I always did that thing (I did tails and tails lol)

Actually the emerald sprite Is actually breakable in a rom hack the pipe actually has a water in the rom and then it’s starts flooding and there be a plateform next to the other area in the rail area with rings and after that the river thing actually pushes you and there some more platforming and after that an Robotnik boss will start. (It’s the mystic cave boss)

7:42 A minor correction, Track 10 was not used for Hidden Palace in any prototype of the game. The reason it's associated with Hidden Palace is because in the final, if you use a Game Genie to force the game to load what remains of Hidden Palace, Track 10 is the theme used.

Thank you for trying to help but during this videos production i went and played both the nick arcade and simon wai prototypes for footage and research and while the nick arcade prototype mostly recycles music from sonic 1 the simon wai build indeed used that theme im not sure if it was set to the same track number but it did use it

In order to get knuckles and tails (in mania)… you need to go to the last item box, place it down and hit it when it is on Knuckles with Sonic and Tails
You don't need to unlock Tails or Knuckles in Mania, they're already htere.
But for knuckles and Tails in Mania

Proto palace is still in origins but its unused. Its only accessible via the dev menu but dev menu was removed from origins code so its inaccessible

I assume the codes that turn all the animals to Ricky is a reference to Sally Acorn as she, as well as the other freedom fighters, are slightly based off of the animal buddies.
Mania Plus does give Ray new shoes akin to his SGW redesign from Archie.
And one of the animal buddies in the Fleetway comics, who are also based off of Ricky, is mistakenly called Sally Acorn.
Could it be a reference to the squirrel character Stealth has on his Twitter, maybe?

That popup menu in Sonic 2 on phones will say Sonic and Tails are selected first but that might not be true unless you change to a different character and back.
Theres also another code in Sonic 2's level select. In sound test , put 7. You wont hear ANY ring sound ,but if you enter special stage after , you will access the secret 8th special stage.
It is possible to enter the level select from a save file, but even harder and I don’t remember it,I did do it before but I can’t anymore.
What if you take damage with no rings, however, you are powered by Super Blue Ring after destroying the monitor?

You can still farm coins, with debug mode enabled, in sonic 3, go to the glowing spheres bonus stage and spam "1-up" spheres, they forgot to name it coin

Debug mode exists in Sonic CD too, but it's not accessible in the mobile port due to a scripting error, or so I've heard.

My theory I think knuckles found the Proto Palace zone and build a hole sanctuary so he could keep the master Emerald safe in the same place could be the Proto Palace zone it’s just my theory and that’s why sometimes when you fall in the pit is just spikes
well keep in mind sonic and knuckles released while hidden palace in sonic 2 wouldn't make an official appearance until 2013 but also note like all the echidna related temples hidden palace in 3K was probably there since long before knuckles time but then again it isn't present in sonic adventure soooooo,,, sega?

No, you can actually play hidden Palace zone in sonic origins it’s just you have to go to the deaf egg and you just have to skip it with the end like the stage and then you can get to hidden Palace zone
