The bad futures make Sonic CD look better, especially Stardust Speedway with the blood red sky and the JP OST. It also makes fighting Metal Sonic more fitting.
I know that this is your opinion, but I find it weird that anybody would prefer an industrial hellscape ruled and left to rot, rust and fall into ruin by a tyrant to a colourful utopia where everything is beautiful, clean, and most importantly, safe!

palmtree panic: an industrial looking version of green hill
collision chaos: this pinball level aint looking to good
tidal tempest: another industrial location except its its a polluted water plant
quartz quadrant: industrialized mine, what else is there to say
wacky workbench: an old rundown factory also the music is just HOLY SHIT THE FACTORY IS GONNA EXPLODE GET OUT OF THERE!
stardust speedway: a polluted rundown city but look metal sonic hehe
metallic madness: you fucked up big time, little planet is a shithole now
Yeah, metallic madness applies to all bad future zones
Wacky Work bench = Chernobyl in the bad future.
I liked how amy jumped twice at the end of metallic madness like meeting a friend in roblox.
The stardust speed is way too good

Stardust speedway is top 3 on good future and bad future can't even lie
I like the us version too (and I don't care if you say "who asked")
It's kinda overrated in my opinion
My interpretation of each Bad Future
Palmtree Panic: Some cute green hills with nice trees, now turned into a mechanical hell with lost trees and lots of robots.
Collision Chaos: A small casino-like place, turned into a broken wasteland with a dark crimson sky.
Tidal Tempest: A fisher-like tempest, turned into a broken and cracked labyrinth.
Quartz Quadrant: All the quartz has been removed and replaced, and has been turned into yet another broken wasteland.
Wacky Workbench: A mech base turned into this hell and possibly even about to explode cause of the sirens and intensity of the song.
Stardust Speedway: The most iconic zone ever has been turned into this broken city with a crimson sky, darker than Collision Chaos.
Metallic Madness: Congrats, you fucked up the future. Even Eggman’s base of Sonic CD has been ruined, still wanting Sonic dead.
Tidal Tempest is now a polluted water plant and Stardust Speedway is now a dystopian city.

The Japanese version has the better OST than the US version
that's not an opinion that's a fact
the us version is more atmospheric for a bad future, but the boss theme... is a failure. And yes, invicibility and speed are better than japan.

Mettalic Madness' soundtrack really gives you that feeling that you screwed up big time. The evil laughs and the "Sonic, dead or alive" lyrics are creepy.

Metallic madness: You fucked up big time, let’s get out of this hellhole.
I mean, the JP sountrack is better than the US for these bad furures, but the US soundtrack really sells the idea that the bad futures are... well... BAD. The soundtrack of JP is so catchy that I can't take seriously the fact that eggman wins in these "bad" futures.
They wanted it to sound more chaotic and disorderly than the sad and desperate feel that the US version had.

Correction: European version of Sonic CD uses the Japanese OST, US is the only who has different OST.

Oh; you must be talking about Metallic Madness. If so then I feel you. I was playing Sonic CD's 2011 remaster and I had destroyed all the robot generators in the game (with the help of some TH-cam videos of course) except for one. Now I was at Metallic Madness Zone 2. I remember spending seven minutes trying to get through the horrific past of that level. I even died by the stupid descending spike blocks and raged so hard. Eventually beat that level and arrived at Metallic Madness Zone 3 Good Future. I was feeling accomplished to know my efforts were rewarded by the calm music and nice aesthetic. I know people don't see it that way but I do. And then I got past that stupid platforms with the red springs that would send you to the abyss with absolutely no way to tell it was coming. After probably dying there I lost all my rings in the stupid Hotaru mini boss section but the final boss after that wasn't bad. Then I watched the credits and spent the rest of the night listening to the Cosmic Eternity song. Now sadly I was playing the 2011 version of the game which meant the song had no vocals. But it was almost as beautiful as it would've been with the vocals. Afterwards I saw the "you're too cool" epilogue ending which left an accomplished feeling inside me.
What if sonic came late:

Every song in the Japanese soundtrack except for another meaning because it’s really creepy is good even past tidal tempest which is really easy to get in your head whenever sonic hear that’s someone hates the Japanese soundtrack of sonic CD then he comes for them start running
