  • Just a guy drinking some wine and doing a color grade breakdown. This was unscripted and isn't a polished or flashy tutorial but I hope it's helpful. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see more like this.
    "Summer Weekends" video shown in the breakdown: • Vintage Summer Vibes w...

      @@brandonrude Okay so I bought it and I can tell you difference between the two is interesting. I enjoy the colours I'm getting with the powergrade. I could possibly get the same results through film convert I just sadly don't know how to use it yet. I love the look and colour conversion I'm getting from the power grade. I'm going to attempt to fuse the two!

    Hey Brandon, love your work, I've watched a lot of your work multiple times. Quick question, do you ever use these on your Lumix S5 to monitor the 'look' in camera? (LUT View Assist Monitor), and would these work as real-time LUTs for photo on the S5iiX? I understand they're power-grades and best not used for monitoring in camera, but just wondering if you'd tried this at all?

    • @brandonrude
      @brandonrude  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Lewis! And yes, I absolutely do. The powergrades come with a series of LUTs intended for in-camera viewing and I use those in the S5 and I have them loaded in the Video Assist as well. It’s great for monitoring the look when shooting.

  • @WES-pt2ho
    @WES-pt2ho ปีที่แล้ว

    hi. I came to your channel by searching for 'S5IIX' and 'BRaw'. I really like your videos. I'm considering purchasing the S5IIX as I think its powerful AF and IBIS will be very useful for solo shooting. BMPCC is overwhelming for someone like me who has to shoot alone.
    However, your videos make me think that the BMPCC 4K has a much more cinematic texture than the S5. The S5's footage is also detailed, colorful, and beautiful, but it seems to lack the filmic feel. Have you ever considered BMPCC 6K, or is BMPCC 4K sufficient?
    I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the S5IIX. I'm very curious to see if it will have a different texture than the S5.
    Thanks for the detailed tutorial!

    • @brandonrude
      @brandonrude  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I absolutely agree about the texture between the S5 and BMPCC and I am indeed considering trading in my P4K for the P6K. The S5 wins in a lot of categories but I still prefer the BM image overall.
      Thanks for watching and stay tuned. I’m going to film some comparison test footage this weekend of the different internal codecs as well as the external RAW.

    Hey Brandon, I also purchased the FilmUnlimited and I'm quite new to color grading. I'm trying to figure out what's the best workflow.
    Is the RCM version more flexible to you or why did you choose it?
    And how did you get the In-Camera LUT on your LUMIX S5 ?
    Is it just possible with an external monitor ?

    • @brandonrude
      @brandonrude  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the RCM version is more relevant in scenarios where you might have clips from different cameras, each with different log profiles that need to be converted. If you’re shooting with a single camera then it’s less of a concern. To use the LUTS in the S5 you need to export the LUT as a vLUT (for Panasonic cameras) to a memory card, then load that into the camera. For use on an external monitor, a regular LUT file should work, which is what I do for my BM video assist. Search on TH-cam, I found several good videos for how to do it and they helped a lot.

    Hello, does SLOG3 need to be converted to ARRI LOG? (the first node in the video) Thank you!

    • @brandonrude
      @brandonrude  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it’s recommended to convert from whatever log profile you shot it to ARRI LogC. The powergrades were built in and for the ARRI color space so that’s where it’ll give the most accurate results.

      @brandonrude  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@subhaabhisekbiswal3536 I haven’t tried cineprint 16 but I’ve seen some nice stuff graded with it. I personally chose FilmUnlimited over Cineprint as the latter is focused on 16MM emulation, which is a more vintage style look than I wanted. So I guess it depends on the look you’re going for. For me
      FilmUnlimited gets the look I want but if you want more of that old school look cineprint is probably the way to go.
