    All Satas what I had had an issue with air leaks from regulator. And, it's started after the week or two since Brand New. I had mini 4400 , 5500, 1000.

      Hi Walter, I've never had that, only from the tips

    Hi Pete, another great and informative video you must save people a lot of money with all your reviews and demonstrations mate and I have to agree with everything you said, I got my X5500 RP with the 1.2i tip as like you I expected it to be a total hose but it wasn't in fact I don't think it's as fast as my ProLite.
    It seems to be the thing these days, some of the leaders in this industry seem to bring out a new gun that is slower than it's predecessor, the DV1 is slower than the ProLite the X5500 is slower than the 5000, not sure about the WS400S2 being slower than the WS400S1 but it's also quite slow.
    I also agree about the quality of the X5500, yeah it's well made but no better than the DV1 or the WS400S2, I don't think it's any better made than my Fuji MP-V8 which is a lot cheaper, ok Pete I better bugger off or I'll have all the Sata fan boys hating on me😬🤣
    Thanks as always mate🙏👍

      Hi John, thanks, mate. I had the footage from a while ago and thought I'd like to revisit the X5500 and say what I think.
      When I first looked at the bigger Sata's, there were only reviews on the 5000 and that was along the lines of if you use a 1.3 in other makes then you need a 1.2 as Sata understate the size, haven't found that at all so 1.2i was not what I wanted even doing bike stuff, hopefully it guides people in the right direction because I know you agree there's no need for any reduction in size compared to what people normally use.
      I also wanted to bring up the prices as I was saying, there little or no difference between the Sata's and other manufacturers high end gun's, deliberately, I'm sure.
      Thanks for watching as always, mate , cheers 👍

      I can't say for the 5000 but the X5500 you certainly need the same size tip that you currently use if not one size bigger, don't get me wrong here I really like my X5500 RP but like you I wish I got a bigger size tip from the start but I did pickup a second hand 1.3i which is like new.
      I think the prices of all the leading guns in the market now has just got out of hand and I'm pleased I got my guns when I did as atm I don't think I can afford or even need another clear gun, yeah I know I've said it before but I need to resist the temptation. Had another £130 vet bill yesterday for 1 months supply of meds for the mutt so this could be a regular thing😬 cheers mate👍

      Yeah, I've just about reached the same conclusion, mate. I'm so glad I bought my stuff when I did just like you.
      As I write this, I am holding a Sagola 4600 DVR Clear 1.3XL Scrambler edition that I picked up on Ebay nearly 2 years ago, I got it for 180 quid in an auction, just gun and pot but cleaned up lovely, I had already got one from PMP and only put a bid in because I didn't think I would win, certainly glad I did now mate.
      So I'm going to get a few cheaper guns to see what they are like and put them on TH-cam. Cheers, John

      Hey Pete, I forgot to mention that apart from the air valve on my Sata 100B which just needed cleaning I've never had to replace any seals in any of my guns, I must have been painting for over 3 years and like you I use my guns almost every day, maybe I've just been lucky🤔🤷‍♂
      I might be interested in getting some cheap guns at some point but not sure what a good price point would be and what make to look for🙄 what I'm really saying is I wouldn't know where to start😅

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  ปีที่แล้ว

      I only know about some of the cheaper ones because people message me saying they've been using them for some time and they are good.
      I get a few problems with my guns, but I may use 6 different ones in a day, so there is lots of taking apart, cleaning, and reassembling, just service parts for the most part though.
      Cheers mate, you been spraying today?

    Cheers Pete , lots to unpack in this vid! . The issue personally for me with sata has been the fan adjustment , mainly because I like to paint with both hands and manage to bump it often . The big lift in price of 'flagship' guns has been dissapointing really , but a reminder that every company is out to make as much money as possible ...
    As for top 10 , I'm highly interested in what you come up with! , will this be for clear and base guns seperate , or all round? . 👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andrew, on the small Sata's, the fan adjustment gets in my way but not on the 5500, 5000, or 1500, but it's really annoying when it happens, as you obviously know!.
      Disappointing is a very appt word mate, as you say, the company's are just out to make as much as they can, I realise they are in it to make money and they need to too keep going but it does seem everyone is just taking Sata as a benchmark and putting there prices the same or a little lower, very disappointing.
      I originally thought of a top 10 to cover everything but have since changed my mind some that are very good base guns are more average for clear coat and, to a lesser extent, the other way round so it will be a top 10 base and top 10 clear, similar context to the mini gun one I did as people seem to like that format.
      Cheers mate, thanks for watching and taking it all in. Much appreciated 👍

    Hi Pete, great video as always mate👍 I’m sorry to say I don’t think I would ever buy one of these, purely because it’s way out of my price range especially for what I use my guns for.
    I’m interested to know why these are so expensive though, is it the development/research that goes into it or are they pushing the boundaries let’s say? I’m not saying they are a bad gun, they look well built and solid, but it doesn’t look anything special compared to a £200 gun cheers mate. See you in the next one.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Steve, These are now around £700 and totally overpriced. They have always been expensive over here and most places, to be honest.
      Imo, they aren't worth the money. None of the top guns are, really. I think everyone just prices them up at what they think they can get away with and the market can withstand.
      I also think the dealers do quite well out of selling this stuff, and margins are quite high. Certainly compared to other tools retailing, stick to your F160 mate. Trust me, you're not missing much 😉 👍

      @@peteshobbies5383 Wow Pete, I wasn’t expecting such a brutally honest answer 😂 although I had a feeling that this may be the case, I do love my R160Q it seems such a well made gun for the price and I get great pleasure spraying with it, the F160 is a good gun but not so nicely finished in my opinion, the finish of the gun definitely gives you the placebo affect I think 😂 I can’t wait to get spraying again, which will be soon as it stops raining. Cheers Pete, see you in the next one.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the F160 isn't the best made, especially on the threads where the cap goes, but it does a great job and is generally reliable, which is what matters really, cheers mate 👍

      @@peteshobbies5383 Yes mine is the same, not great on the threads, but as you say it sprays nicely and that is what matters, great products from ANI I think. Cheers.

    Looking for a Lvlp spray gun, for base. Don't do a lot of painting, I use two spray guns one for base one for clear.

    Have you tried the Sata 1.3 cc? Atomizes way better than the normal I nozzles

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Jeremy, I was using it yesterday. It needs to be used in a slightly different way to the standard I nozzle
      I know some use it at a higher pressure than the standard I but I've found 29psi to be find, it's very slow for a 1.3 so certain won't suit many sata users, but it's giving good finishes, reminds me of the WS400 in the finish it gives, cheers mate 👍

      Hi Andrew, they are anodised aluminium, the cap is brass, tip and needle are stainless steel , the control knobs for fan and air are plated plastic 👍
