Larry Soto Our rep has been a SATA guy all his career, I think the only gun he uses that isn’t SATA is his Iwata for clear. I think it stings a little when he talks about it 😂
Sata sent me a gun that hasnt sprayed right since day 1. I thought, maybe it's how it's supposed to be??? No. The fan is uneven. Something is wrong with it. And I have the 1.3 I nozzle digital. Nearly a grand for a gun that has never sprayed right! So I ordered a nozzle set because I'm sure theres no warranty
If there was an issue, why didn't you contact SATA? They do a great job of taking care of customers. Plus you can register the gun for their warranty. Sorry man, but complaining online for not checking with them first is messed up
@@inthehomeshop I thought it was just how the gun was, so I compensated for the strange fan pattern. I should have registered for the warranty... I may sound like a dick but why is the most expensive gun on the market being sent out faulty when they're supposedly hand tested. The gunman, a youtuber got 3 5500x's from sprayguns direct to review. 2 of the 3 were faulty!!! What the fuck! Like a $1000 spray gun shouldn't have issues. Just bought my x5500 rp 1.3 "o" nozzle. Its loud and the fan sucks. Ive heard problems with air caps? The gunman as a video of this problem. Have you seen this?
Like any issue, get in touch with who you bought it from or reach out to your SATA rep. I'm aware of what gunman says about them and that's his opinion, much like I have mine. Personally, if theres an issue, I get with the manufacture
I happy with sata.... Very happy. I found both your vids searching issue. Problem, i bought it new, factory sealed sata box. Its very loud.. Has a 1/4" stream before it starts fanning. I seen his video on the air cap issues he had with his x5500 demos. I will call sata and see my local dealer. Thank you.
Ive had mine since....a couple months after the gun got released i believe it was. I havent had a single problem out of mine. Ive heard the same that they had some issues with some, but with mine I haven't experienced it, so I can't say yay or nay on that one.
@@jeremyoetken2094 that really sucks since that's the entire reason I bought this gun so I could see the pressure right there but I guess I should have done more research. You'd think 1000$ for a gun you would be able to change it. 😕
Lol Ive only seen DB tests performed on pc fans but on one spray guns? Hell the spray booth is way louder than the spray gun lol. I’ll tell what’s really loud , Binks Model 18 gun.Now that’s back in the days when guns were really loud as hell lol
Sata kind of went back to their old technology with their air distribution. I have an old sata jet that is built like the new 5500 without the plastic air distribution. In the old gun its all machined in just like the new one.
Yep. I thought the same. I believe it was my old jet 90 that was the same way. I know my 90-2 i have currently is the same as well. I just like its one less part to replace in the grand scheme of things.
Do u Know if the HVLP 1.4 satajet 5000 is a descent all around gun ? Do u know if there's a knock off to look out for ? I'm no fan of the HVLP but I'm leaving rookie ville and tryna step the game up , oh is 400 a descent price?
I personally have a few 5000 hvlp's with 1.4 nozzle sets. For me, they help with metallic orientation in solvent painting alot. 400 is a great price if its clean and well kept. There are knockoffs yes. Engraving is different, air cap rings are different, writing on thr gun is all different. Reach out to Sata with the gun's SAL number and they can authenticate it
@@inthehomeshop I noticed this one does have the green chip in the bottom of the handle , from a bit of research I found the knock offs won't have that mark . I will reach out to sata thanks for the feedback.
So for Spies Hecker waterborne what would you recommend the 1.2 I?1.2 O?1.3O?Im using a 4000 b rp with a 1.2 at 2 bar and base comes out muddy and dry.Thinking of going with a Tekna Pro Lite if I can’t get these Satas to work right 😑
I use my 5500 for clear currently. However, I am at a shop that sprays spies water now. I use the WSB setup in both a 4000 and 5000(hvlps). If running an RP, a 1.2 is recommended. That particular water is recommended to spray at 22-25 psi.....which I believe converts to 1.5-1.7 bar. Full trigger on fluid.
Just want to ask. I purchased sata x 5500 rp 1.3 O-pattern. Can i just simply buy a nozzle set of hvlp 1.2 i-pattern and switch aircap between 1.2 and 1.3 fluid tip?
havent been getting comment notifications for some reason....sorry! It all depends on what clear you spray and how you spray it. This is why I always tell people to setup a demo first!
@@inthehomeshop I was just curious because I just started using my new Sata 5500 guns a week ago. I have an RP 1.2 O for clear and HVLP 1.3 O for base (solvent).
