@@joj4096 Not all things are invented by Muricans you know....
This day of jokes and pranks is believed to have stemmed from the 16th-century calendar change in France, when New Year’s Day was moved from April 1 to January 1. This action was taken due to the adoption of the Gregorian calendar.
However, a few people were resistant to the calendar change, so they continued to observe New Year’s Day on April 1st, rather than the new date. They were referred to as the “April Fools”, and others started playing mocking tricks on them. This custom endured, and is practiced to this day around the world!

Very good! This makes me go back in time... I built my first airbrush using a ballpen body, cotton swab tube, a pop soda bottle cap and some steel wire. I used an old vacuum cleaner as the air source. It worked! But the only control I had was the vacuum power switch. So crude... I could paint with tomato soup if I wanted to, because the cotton swab tube was so thick inside... This was 1994, I was 14.

G'day David, You, sir, are a genius! I've been painting my models with brushes since I was a small boy, many years ago. I just never got around to buying or learning about airbrushes. Now, airbrushes are very expensive in my country and I'm on a pension. I am happy with my brushes but there are times when I'm working on a large model that I would like to have airbrushing skills. I think I will give your clever design a try. I'm familiar with using syringes and I have disposable lighters so, I already have the components of your 'magic' invention. Modelling is all about problem solving and having fun and you have found a useful way to do both at the same time. Thank you. Cheers, and all the best from Tasmania. BH

A cheap knock off will be fine if you are just starting out.
I think one of my first airbrushes cost maybe $25 on Ebay. It was a clone of a far more expensive brush. It wasn't as nice as the expensive one but it was fine to learn on. Plus it uses the same size fittings etc as the more expensive ones so when you upgrade everything will be compatible.

Architect here. Absolutely fantasic invention. I will produce one within a couple of months i assume. I think i will ponder how to upgrade it with regular household items so it can take a slight bump without needing a repair. A higly unnecessary task, of course... but why not? There is a method for DIY reparing superficial cracks and chipoffs on sport plane propellars i saw on the tubes. You take second glue (yours) and let it drip onto a tiny pile of talkum powder. It solidifies and is so hard you can file it etc. that would be good for enclosing the needles of the paint container.
Reg how to attatch the paint canister lid to the suringe is a think to think about... but perhaps a small metal hoop with a screwhead to clamp a pipe could be one part of it. Perhaps some more talkumpowder and glue.
Just a thought. Thanks for the vid. I have more than one modelkit on a shelf just waiting for some attention.

I bought a hobbyking dual action airbrush for $20AUD 2 years ago. Watched a couple of videos on improving it like sanding and polishing the needle, valves and other moving parts as well as lubricating it. And it works beautifully. Then I bought a cheap secondhand compressor with a 8L tank and replaced the pump with a fridge compressor to make it ultra quite. I am beyond pleased with it.
