The time has come to produce an EVA2 6K with internal RAW and 4K 120p minimum. The Full Frame cube is beautiful, but we need an EVA2 that goes to join an Eva1 not to substitute. I use Eva1 every day and is still a fantastic cinema camera today.
I feel like pretty much everything in the "what's missing" section is being held out for the EVA2. BS1H looks awesome! Definitely can't wait for a proper EVA successor though.
I am very happy to hear that the stabilization has been removed. That means this camera can be operated on an FPV (or other) drone without image vibration / jello effect.
Locking, interchangeable lens mount would have been a great addition. Internal NDs would have been nice too; (I suppose you could use the Tilta ND system tho).
one huge +1 for the Zcam F6, compared to the BS1H(assuming everything spec-wise is the same with S1H), is that Zcam F6 does NOT crop on 4k 60p, S1H would crop to S35 when shooting 4k60p
A full on comparison review against the Z Cam E2-F6 would be a very interesting comparison, the Z Cam only costs $500 more. Pity the BS1H is missing internal NDs! (and why no IBIS?? Like the S1H) Guess we have to wait for an "EVA2"?
Panasonic please listen to your customers. The BS1H needs a small screen! Why make a tiny box camera and then destroy it's small form factor with a heavy external recorder & NPF batteries? On the positive side the S1H is still an amazing camera which I'll be using for many more years.
Once again Panasonic is super later to the party. I'm talking about, the police already broke it up, and there are just a few stragglers standing around looking "like what happened?" As a Varicam owner and a Komodo owner, I'd also say that no matter what you do with Panasonic footage it always leans towards a broadcast video look. They don't seem to be interested in cinema, even tho the flagship line is supposedly dedicates towards cinema. Having used Varicam since it came out, and just now getting into Red Eco system, I'd save up and get a Komodo if you're in the market for a box sized camera. Maybe Panasonic can redeem themselves with a FF Varicam Mini, but w/ V-Raptor making waves, they're already looking late again. Great review by the way CVP!
I’m noticing that “broadcast look” with most high resolution digital sensors. I shoot with the BGH1 and finding pleasing results with voigtlander lenses and shooting in 1080p. I’ve never personally shot on a red, but notice the same look/feel on the majority of what’s on TH-cam. Even 1917 had that super realistic look to me.
On the US it seems to be the same price as the S1H, at least on B&H. They could have used the opportunity to upgrade some things from the S1H on the hardware side, like higher fps or no crop on 4k60. As it stands, it's just like the FX3 is to the a7s3, which is fine I guess, but not really attractive
It has an SDI, which is awesome, but it’s only 3G? SDI is a secure connection and the ONLY connection we should be using to record externally, not HDMI. HDMI is done for monitors, but if gets bumped, you lose the take (or the entire live recording!). Cinema cameras don’t mess around with questionable ports. I wish panasonic lumix would give us an eva2 with proper SDI ports and ND filters, throw in IBIS and everyone will be happy.
why would you not remove the slow motion crop. as an s5 owner i love the camera but the crop at 50/60p is actually kind of a bigger deal breaker than i initially thought. Makes using primes a ballache. fix this and panasonic have got a winner
@@joe6793 late, but the FX6 has the same 12MP sensor as the A7S III. The FX9 has a 24MP which I believe is the same sensor used in the S1H, BS1H. Same APSC crop in 60p too.
wanted to ask if the fans could be turned completely off, and if they produce a lot of noise shooting in a small bedroom (8x10ft). would the noise be less than the atomos ninja v itself? also if the lowlight performance is about the same as an a73 or better (i kno the fx3/a7s3 would outperform it in lowlight because 12mp w/ larger pixels) is controlling the camera thru a ninja v an absolute chore or is it something u can live with?
if they added global shutter, they would've had my money. I don't want to lose my EVF and screen and quick deployment for this. while i would love to transition to a lighter box camera, Id prefer the upgrades that could go along with that transition. Panasonic. Give us a global option, we will pay for it. Give us built in NDs. Give us higher frame rates at 6k and full frame options. Give us a better auto focus system.

Would you consider a comparison between this and the Z cam e2 f6?
Another excellent video placing the capabilities in context, thanks :) I'd be interested in a comparison with the Sigma fp.

Pop the vizelex ND L to EF adapter on it and you have a winner!
@@joshstone4483 But it doesn't let you have no ND! it's 2-8! Also I'm trying to get away from EF Flange distance myself!

Lumix camera's HDMI feed is notorious for its lag. Does the SDI output on this improve on it?

Is it possible to turn on the camera remotely?
Greetings, What are your thoughts on not having IBIS? Is it a deal breaker or would you just mount it?
Really depends on the kind of work you do! But there are plenty of cameras without IBIS that are great tools for people! Jake

Did BS1H fix the HDMI latency from S1H?

They can't remove the crop because it's a sensor limitation. The FX9 has the same crop so blame Sony.
