Great idea, Tiffany! The best part of being a quilter is making each quilt according to our personal inspiration. It's a wonderful, creative journey. Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
So thrilled you found my channel, Karen! I love quilting and enjoy sharing my projects as well as some tips I discover along the way. The is one of my favorite quilts. Thank you for the rail fence pattern. I appreciate all the patterns you design and provide for us. I have learned so much about color and contrast from you. I enjoy your videos!
You are so welcome, Nancy! Understanding color and contrast made a big impact on my quilting. It seems so practical, but so many of us miss that design element! So glad you're enjoying my videos. Thanks for following along. Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
So glad you like it, Darlene! It's such a simple and quick quilt to make...even if you don't have scraps! LOL Just start cutting those fat quarters. 😊 Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Give this one a try, Ilean! You can easily make any color more prominent by adding more strips in that color family. Plus it's easy and quick! Thanks for following along. Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Welcome, Donna, and thanks for subbing! This is a fun quilt with so many options, not to mention a perfect way to use up all those fabric scraps. 😊 Glad to have you following along! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Oh my dear, sit down, take a deep breath and JUST DO IT! I took me a long time to get there but I'm having more fun with fabrics now than ever! Be sure to let me know how it goes! LOL 😍🤗💕 Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Thank you so much for watching! So glad you enjoyed this quilt. My favorite quilts have lots of bold, bright colors, particularly batiks. Blessings to you and your family, and be sure to say 'Hi' when you stop by to watch! Happy Quilting, Lea Lousie
I love your color choices. This looks like a very easy and useful pattern to have in my toolbox. LOL I can see making blocks, or at least strips of three, here and there as I finish projects, and then putting them together once I have enough. --- Unlike you, I do not buy pre-cuts. They are so expensive (30% more than yardage just for the convenience of them cutting it for you) and there is so much waste. Either the pattern doesn't call for all 42 squares, or 10-12 of the squares are tiny checks or other non-print squares that wouldn't fit into the same quilt as the others. Then you need to either buy a second layer cake bundle (with even more expense and wasted blocks) or yardage. I'd rather buy just the specific fabrics I like and focus on those in a design, and only buy the amount I need.
This is a wonderful quilt for using up lots of any kind of fabrics! I completely understand your thoughts on precuts. I lived on a small-ish island for 15 years without direct access to any kind of fabric...or even a mall or WalMart! Loved the life but quilting fabric wasn't even an option. I joined a fat quarter fabric club from a quilt shop near where I used to live. The rest is history. Fifteen years later I had over 1K FQs and had to find ways to use them all! LOL Guess that's why FQs work so well for me, I'm used to quilting that way. It's be interesting to know how other quilters have found their 'quilting groove'. We are a determined bunch and will always find a way to quilt! Thanks so much for watching and adding your comments. 😊 Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
@@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise When I lived in Florida years ago, I had a writer friend in England that was also a quilter. When her husband had a business trip to Orlando, she came with him...with 3 extra empty suitcases. While he took the rental car to his meetings, I would pick her up and we would hit all the fabric stores we could find. She spent hundreds of dollars on fabric saying it could cost two to three times as much in England and she needed to stock up.
The rows are sewn together vertically, Giselle. Then every other row is turned around to change the placement of the white rails. It's a wonderful design trick that makes this a super fast quilt! Happy Quilting, Lea Lousie
It's very likely I'm misusing this word, Sandy. I think of botanic gardens filled with plants, flowers and trees. Those are some of my favorite images to quilt with. Luckily for me there are lots of these fabrics to choose from. 😍 Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

Not sure how to figure out which rows have white strips on top or bottom ??
