  • Cheongung (천궁) is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system with a 40 km range operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force Air Defence Artililery Command (공군방공유도탄사령부). A complete battery consists of up to six 8-cell transporter erector launchers (TELs), a passive electronically scanned array (PESA) X-band multi-function phased array 3D radar, and a fire command vehicle. A "Block 2" missile interceptor variant of the Cheongung has also been developed. It was developd by South Korean Agency for Defense Development (ADD) in cooperation with Russian defense firms Almaz-Antey and MKB Fakel. It is currently produced by LIG Nex1.

This medium range missile is more reliable by quality and numbers since it has 8missiles each launcher unlike some other medium defense who only has 3 or 4 each launcher which is easy to overwhelm.

Looks like a Modified S-400 Triumf that had it's original Belarussian Lorry launcher replaced by a Hyundai Kai Lorry launcher. If one were to look at the Bunker buster Hyunmoo-2 it's an Iskander derivative that had the original Russian parts replaced by South Korean Japanese US made parts. Basically it meant this if any Western country that wants Russian S-400s Iskanders not made there then can simply buy them from SOuth Korea in the form of Hyunmoo and KM-SAM. One might be used to defend Incheon and K-14 Gimpo airports so is the Gimahe AFB. I wonder if this can get data from a Green Pine radar.

South Korea and Russia co-developed this missile. Russian one is called the S-350 Vityaz. What is weird is though, this missile's stabilization system is actually closer to western missiles. S-350 uses its main thruster to stabilize itself. This one has separate thrusters for stabilization like the PAC-3 missile. Their warheads also work differently. South Korean one controls its explosive force by using 2 separate charges. One charge intentionally deforming one side and the 2nd charge pushing it out. It's kind of like a shaped charge. Russian one has multiple charges that are timed differently instead.

@@descriptiondescriptiondescript _What is weird is though, this missile's stabilization system is actually closer to western missiles. This one has separate thrusters for stabilization like the PAC-3 missile._
I don't remember seeing PAC-3 missile stabilizing itself like that, I mean they already get launched at an angle. What we see here is similar to Bastion coastal defence missile launch.
_S-350 uses its main thruster to stabilize itself._
Not many videos of S-350 launch out there but from what I've found it has black smoke coming out from the top of the missile, it seems to come from additional trusters.
