The pricing of logo design is ambiguous to some who don't understand or haven't had the experience within the design industry. Within this video, Will Paterson takes on the challenge to guess the price of the logos his producer has purchased through Fiverr.
As you can see, the pricing of the logo you see really doesn't show a major difference in talent. A lot of logo designers need to charge more for what they're giving their clients, and some designers need to go back to the drawing board with their designs. Overall this video has really shown the differences and how wrong a professional logo designer can be when it comes to pricing a logo.

I've created similar logos as the colourful winged planet pen one.. around the same price ranged.. having been "ashamed" to charge more and having had a rough time knowing "how to charge".. Hearing your opinions on other design has given some info regarding that, and I appreciate that! Cheers for the amazing content you're uploading!
Logo 4 was literal taken off a logo maker site
A lot of art theft going on over on fiverr and twitter. Typically in my niche when I see assets or designs delivered as a WIP through fiverr, a watermark is attached. So that the client isn't an art thief to then turn around and sell the design themselves and just refund the project. I completely understand the choice, it's definitely something that has become very common in the gaming space.
$30 ones is super clean and super cool

I think the first one could have been better if it was worked out a little bit more like the tip of a spear and the text doesnt fit very well there. But I dont think its fair to say that 25 is a reasonable pricetag and logo 3 is priced right at 3000. It is a big difference but not a 120x difference.

Ah, number 3 is from Indonesia, that's why he charges so little. Obviously can still charge more but it's very different from a designer in the UK or US charging $30. Amazing stuff! Making me consider hiring one of these guys to do my logo for my UX portfolio

Could someone explain why he loves the 3rd one so much? It doesn't seem scalable as a logo at all (which was a big criticism of the 1st logo).

Good question! It was mainly the composition and colour choice. It was the essence of a "gamer logo". Most logos like this aren't as scalable and more illustrative :)

It's the closest to the quintessential E Sports team logo I feel, and fits the brief very well while doing so. E Sports team logos tend to be in that style where it looks sort of like a mascot and a shield or pendant or such like that. The team logos tend to fall somewhere between a traditional logo and a traditional illustration and what logo rules you follow or not really should come down to how it's going to be used. On a stream or team jersey that would look cool I think. The first went just a bit further towards illustration with the soft colors that sort of mushed together in a lot places where here it was more separated and still had a clean silhouette, at least I feel so.

No Professional designer should be charging these kind of fees.Charge More! If you are genuinely good. The problem is that its subjective and lesser designers with less experience and knowledge will charge stupid amounts to get the work and also based on their location. Globalisation huh. All good but the guys that are smashing it in countries that obviously charge so little on platforms like Fiverr and are seriously good should consider their pricing to allow all the other designers who also have the skills to be able to charge in accordance to their level or at least a living wage.

Hi Will I noticed theres a big problem for true good creators out there. SO many People (clients) just dont know what a good logo should look like. Fiverr creators just often sell "shitty" stuff for huge prices and at the same time really Great creators sell their stuff for CHEAP! because they compete against all these "cheap" not experienced creators. I mean nothing stays in the way other people make their own stuff and sell it for whatever they want (this is what Feverr is all about) but still the problem exists. The only one to really honestly judge and can differenciate the good logo from the bad one (OBJECTIVELY) is just another good designer with knowlede and experience). And on top of all that there is a personal TASTE, LIKE and Style that none of us can argue with. So.. to me that's the reason there will never be a true justice because speaking short - client's most often have not enough knowlede about design in general. Hope more and more people will gain that intuition about design principles and design "dress code". Ai and so many automated services like wix logo maker etc. doesnt make things any easier.. because there are time that they generalte pretty "solid" logo. for a casual client. Thing is that there has to be person there (designer) that can tell you which one is a proper one from your specific brand, why the font choice is this specific, why this colour, why this icon, why this typeface and so on. Btw. another great challenge!
btw. I agree with your finding all the way. - Hell Vetica with wings is absolute best. Clean, in one piece/shape. This one shoud be 250., all the other for my taste are not NEARLY as good . cheers!

Sup man, active viewer of your channel. I totally understand the fact that you gotta hustle and make money through content and sponsorships but don't you feel promoting Fiverr is unethical? I'm not trying to lead you here. I'm asking specifically to know your thoughts since you're a pretty fantastic designer and you have a wealth of experience on the subject. To me, it definitely feels like the work here is being devalued. Even that third one, do you want your own designs to go for that much? And please don't delete this comment, I'm counting on you being a just and decent designer and human that wants to actually talk design.

Fiverr isn't unethical. The only way it would be unethical is if designers were forced to use Fiverr or the pricing structure which isn't the case . I always encourage those who use Fiverr to increase their prices through the value. (Check the comments) Which I hope to show in the video.
Nothing is forcing designers to lower their prices. In fact, most designers who complain (not you) about Fiverr have the "they took our jobs" mentality. Which isn't the case. The price of design work is not dictated by Fiverr, you can charge whatever you need to, to do the work and profit. I wouldn't be standing myself in good stead in my business showing my clients where they can get work for cheaper - they would be running a mile. But they don't because we offer more than others and our portfolio from past projects with many companies big and small shows this.
