Two notes, could not get the window up to release the green clip, a had to cut the cable to release it, then raise it. 2nd, after replacing, doing the 10-second “reprogramming”, it would not stay up, would immediately drive back down after touching the top. Finally figured out door had to be closed for it to work. Hope that helps!
George ...Thank you so much for the note. This was my situation with window down thanks for the string cutting tip and also regarding window closed position fo programming
I already installed the new regulator and it works but when i roll up the window and hit the top it automatically go down to the middle. How can i fix that? Its normal? Please help
Got my regulator from Amazon today, which cost me $35 with tax. Took me less than 1 hr of labor and wa-freakin-la. Probably saved around $300 from a mechanic and now the wife is super happy now!
Thank you so much for the video. my rear passenger window regulator broke last summer which was a fairly simple fix but couldn't figure out the programing part. Thanks again.
Thanks. Just completed replacing the right side today on my wife's car. The green clip takes a bit of effort but if you get the glass in the right place and hold your tongue just right, it unsnaps. I think removing the plug from the motor was more difficult. Second time will be quite easy. . . .hope that never happens! Thanks again and thanks to FCP Euro for getting the part here in in just three-days with free shipping. I finished up today after work and still had some sunlight left over.
@@mexame4845my mechanic’s fast and furious fix was to shove the window up and pin it in place from underneath by screwing a piece of wood underneath it. Hope he didn’t break anything doing that… he was rushing. I’m going to fix the regulator myself today because i didn’t like watching the way he handled my car. He gouged the material of the door card while getting it off!
Thank you for the video, I had replaced window regulator, couple of problems, 1) Door Handle got struck and it would not open the door. 2) After completely bringing down the window it stopped going down, I thought it start to work with mild operation, apparently one rainy day it went down and regulator would not help to push the window back up. Wondering if the regulator gone toast within few days or any idea ? Arg... this after market parts or what else could be going on ? Thank you.
This tutorial worked perfectly! Thanks for going through every step from beginning to end. I can’t believe how easy it was after I got the right parts. Thank you so much! I would have been lost without this video.
The tab to the right of the hole. Does it go behind or in front of the glass? My glass comes down right on top of it and I'm afraid to snap it by bending it the wrong way.
Question, door handle is not working after replacing the E90/06/330i windows regulator, could you edetail how to fix the door handle issue, I had to replace the regulator on two passenger windows, both the doors are not opening, handles are struck. :(., perhaps this is just overlooked or I need help woth it. Thank you.
I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. It is really a tedious task to get these working again with those bowdencables which operate the door handles
Great video, I did my e90 rear window this morning without the assistance of this video which I only got a moment ago! I had to replace the two short cables! It's working fine again without having to program it?
Mine just broke today for the second time 😡 perfect timing for the vid lmao. Not just that something else is bad also because my rear passenger wheel is super low and it’s kinda cambered in and is making a weird noise and to top it off my alignment is out due to me not seeing a pothole yesterday and ramming into it 🥴. It really hasn’t been a good weekend for my car sadly 😔
Great DIY. Followed your instructions to the letter and fixed mine in about an hour. Only mistake I made was all the doors have to be closed to reprogram-duh Thanks a ton
Hi, Can you confirm the type of bits that you used? Specifically for the window regulator and the 3 screws to get the interior door panel off.....I also liked that last tool that you used to put back the interior door panel to screw back in. Thought it was nice and long to grab on to the door. Please let me know. Thanks!!!
great vid! My window dropped completely already so i cant tape it up like you. any tips for when i replace mine on account of the window being fully down? thanks!
@@josiahdayton8240 when you take the interior panel off you can just pull the window up shut and tape it so it holds while you work on the other stuff. cheers!
Just finished mine. My window dropped as well. Once the regulator is unbolted it is easier to unclip from the green clip. Then you can pull it up and tape it in place
i had some trouble aswell, on the grren thing there is a notch you press in to " realease " the window ( if you are in my position where the window was stuck down reach in with a flat head and press it then lift the window up and tape it to the door, then just do as the video shows :D
BMW window regulator design is stupid. I had to replace it twice in 16 years. The Toyota design is a lot more reliable. Never need a replacement for 30 years
It was a clear black night, a clear white moon..... ah wait, wrong kind of Regulators.
16 in the clip and one in the hole
I've never did a silent laugh so hard/loud until reading this damn comment
So to that, I say.... Thank you🤙🏾
😂😂😂😂😂
Ha ha yess

George, I am about to do this myself when the part comes in tomorrow. To which cable are you referring?

Foam liner is easier to remove if you simply cut it at the glue line, with a utility knife.

Just fixed mine, don't put of off fellas it is truly just as easy as it looks. It took me half a year to do it. Wish I had fixed it sooner

Is there a way to get the window up without having the part? I ordered one but I don’t want a trash bag in my window for the next few days
what did you do to put it up?
With a stick 🪵 a couple if necessary or tape just like on the video or both

Fantastic. I'm ready to do this now. Thanks for the confidence. lol

Interior panel screws are T-20 and the screws that hold the motor to the regulator are T-25 Torx. Phillips screws for the foam panel.

In my e90..window is just going down not up.i have to pull up by hands and it comes down lil bit after sometimes. So what would be the issue?
Have you done the relearn procedure? I did a different video on that. Does it go up when doing that?
