When fitting a new window regulator you just have to wind it right up, then hold switch in the up position for a couple of seconds and then it resets itself.

Typical 50skid- Not even two minutes in and already sharing a tool that's gonna make our lives easier. Would you mind dropping a link to that adapter + torx set?
My most used tools are the Grey Pneumatic duo sockets you showed in the last tool bag video years ago, and the Bob Smith Instaset super glue has repaired countless things back to brand new. It doesn't get said enough- Thank you!

Thanks for another good E90 video. Helped me replace mine.
Just had this exact thing go out on mine recently - Rear passenger side regulator just like yours. This video helped especially because I wasn't aware that that little handle plastic/leather covered piece popped off. Was good to know exactly what bolt/screw sizes were there too - T20 and 10mm.
I also swapped out my dead trunk struts at the same time. Was possibly the easiest and fasts BMW part replacement I've ever done. New ones are cheap too.

I think the way that works is if the door is open the auto up and down doesn't work. It's that way on my e53. On my E85 to activate it you roll it all the way down and hold the switch for like 30 seconds and then do the same going up. Maybe on the slow window you could lubricate the rubber track at slides in.

use the up switch and hold for 10 seconds after you reach the top, then do the same for down and that resets the calibration on the window.

Just a short remark on the hall sensors: "High" and "low" only refers to the output signal of the sensors and won't correspond to the actual position of the window, they're just used for motion sensing.

What, wood and a big random strip of rubber isn't normally found inside your door? It is in mine . .. I'm sure of it.

I know this is a random question but have you ever put a turbo on a e46? My main question is would adding a turbo increase fuel economy on our engines.

Not yet but it’ll be very similar. The key points are the same. The glass clips in. That’s the important info. I’ll try to do a video on the front even though I don’t need to replace it

On my car, they wedged a piece of PVC pipe in the door to hold the window up. All that work, to avoid replacing a $20 regulator. 🙄

I thought the same thing! Of all the window regulators I've done over the years, e46 coupe doors were probably the most challenging for me.

If you are ever in need of that butyl glue and don't want to pay a million, go to a professional building suppliers or contractors (concrete guys for example), they have the same stuff in caulking gun cartridges format! You don't have to buy the OEM stuff that comes in wax paper and in ridiculously small amounts

When refiting the vapor barrier you need to renew the butyl otherwise the barrier won't stay sealed against the metal and you will have a nice water leak ...oops 40 years on BMW.
