Took my car to the dealer and they quoted me $1,100 to replace the rear regulator. After watching this video, I bought an OEM regulator for $78 and replaced very easily. Thanks for posting this video, it really helped me out.
Bmw wanted to charge me 900 for this. Grabbed a oem regulator for 70 dollars and installed it myself l, thank you guys for all the help

Hey guys thanks for the video. I have a problem now, automatic up down function no longer works and now the window rolls down every time it gets all the way up (it thinks maybe an arm is in the way). Any way I can reset it to know what the max up and max down point is?

@@jasonvargas6625 not a proper solution, no, but I loosened the bolts attaching the regulator frame to the door panel and that seemed to fix it. I think the aftermarket regulator I got was out of tolerance by enough to cause excess torque in the system. Once that torque was alleviated, the regulator functioned as normal.

I’ve done these on 4 different cars a few different ones but it seems like the rears go out a lot, idk if it’s lack in of use or what but every 2 years they go bad on my family’s cars it’s so dumb. Easy job though
The link you provided for Amazon in regards to the window regulator you used is for "front left, driver side". Wouldn't this be the rear left, driver side? Or are they identical parts?

Good video. I t helped me fix my problem. However, it's missing the fact that you do not need to replace the entire regulator. In my case, the motor was fine and the metal bar was OK too, so all I had to replace are the cables and the sliding part. I found a kit to repair that on eBay and it was ~$15.

My rear window is stuck down so I cannot get to the window clips..so shall i remove the three 10mm nuts holding the regulator and motor first.
Hi, I have the same issue, did you find a solution? I'm wondering if I can cut the cable to the pulley because I don't see any way to reach the green clip that holds the window when the window is all the way down.

Force the window out of the clip. Since the regulator needs replaced its not going to hurt it to damage the plastic more lol. Because one of the supports broke allowing the window to fall down originally which is un repairable.
How do you just replace the clip? Without a new regulator
I ended up cutting the cable (wire) from the pulley. I made that choice after opening the box for the new regulator and seeing that it included the cable and window clip. My window was easy to raise to a position where I could get at the green clip once I cut the cable. I used Gorilla tape to hold the window up while I worked on replacing the regulator.

So close to finishing a video you should have done so and shown that the regulator was working raising and lowering the window even before you put the door panel insulation or everything back together you can plug in the cables and verify that the the regulator was Raising and lowering the window either from that door control or from the front door control the driver's door

What if the glass windows doesn’t wanna go down?
Cut the braided cable. Its unable to be forced up or down due to the motor is in the regulators splines. You could damage the motor which costs $$$
What about later showing how to reinstall the clip back on the window switch? What about telling people how they need to reprogram the electrics so the car knows where to start and stop the window again? ...
What do I do if my window is stuck in the fully open position ?!
Bad motor or something broke on the regulator
Regulator malfunctioned mechanically. Happened to me. Window started creeping down. Eventually it broke physically and the whole window sank inside the door.
