I bought it twice. I have it on digital but am holding off on playing until I get my deluxe edition physical copy in January Edit: I have put 300+ hours in already but haven’t made it much further than saving the grove (first encounter), I just keep messing with the creation 😂
I bought it for myself and a friend as well. I have yet to make it past Act 1 since I keep wanting to try new quirky character concepts I come up with, or mods 😅

The reason they got such a postive reception is because they put effort passion and drive into their work. They did not attack the fans after telling us its not for us. They did not shame white males, they did not push toxic divisive ideology into the game. Everything put into BG3 was with one intent: Lets make the best RPG love letter to the D&D fans. They did just that. You deserve the love. ❤

We witnessed a cast of likable characters and actors of the likes only seen a few times before, like for instance the LOTR trilogy. This was a historic event. They deserve the praise and i hope we get to see more of these characters and specially of this cast in the future..congratulations all
I was just thinking this myself! The LOTR trilogy cast are the only other people I can think of that seemed to genuinely love the work they did, loved the fan community, and loved working with one another. Never thought I'd see that energy again. It's a beautiful thing.
Lae’zels story is absolutely awesome! I deeply second the "give her a chance". And from what I saw about people taking other decisions than what I did in my first playthrough, there are a great number of awesome stories that can play out. Thank you!
She's definitely a dick and unlikeable in Act 1, but she's grown on me the most out of all the characters. Act 2 and 3 really make me like her a lot more than I thought I would in the beginning.
@@Not_Ciel She actually already grew on me in Act 1. Knew what she wanted, wouldn’t let anyone get the best of her, honest about who, what, and how she was. And then the character development in Act 2 and 3 totally got me.

I kinda feel bad now. I romanced her in single combat through Act 1, but when we were at the end of the creche in that massive fight, she straight up attacks me without holding back. So I did what any half-orc barbarian in the middle of a frenzy would do, killed her and then the rest of the Gith. I'm really glad I get to experience Astarion's character arc at least. Gonna have to do another play-through for romancing Karlach next I think.
I'm so glad that even the side or minor characters like Dammon, Isobel, Aylin, Withers, and Alfira are getting some love as well as the major party members. Really goes to show how much every single actor poured their hearts out for their roles.

To me, Karlach stand out among other is her personality, always energetic, positive and up beat. In a dark story backdrop, that really really stand out.
They just nailed everything, between the performances, art direction, sound design, music, animations, and writing. It's just incredible, even if the game play is not your thing, I still think it's worth playing for all of the other aspects. The character development is one of the best I have ever seen. The actors really sell us their roles, and you can just hear that there heart was in it. Really amazing game that I am still recovering from. These experiences are why I start gaming and I am glad that it's not dead yet.
I hated CRPGs or any turn based game like this until I played Bg3. I still don't prefer it and don't even necessarily like it, but BG3 does such a good job in every other aspect that I have a very easy time overlooking it.
I think the community being as positive as it is comes from the game being as amazing as it is. Probably the single most impressive game I’ve ever played, felt like being 14 and having my mind blown by Fallout 3, and as an adult with a more critical eye that almost never happens.
I work with voice actors in a parallel industry and direct them regularly. I've recorded dialog for EA and even Westwood. Recording Kane twice, two decades apart was surreal. I digress. Anyways, spending the money and time for wonderful voice-actors is SO worth it. They breath LIFE into two-dimensional characters that would be otherwise forgetable. It's worth it to have an almost exhausting number of reaction quips to movement, health, attacks, damage, etc. It's worth it to spend just a little more time on that monolog. It's just so worth it to edit together the ultimate take rather than having a "that's good enough" mentality. Games are suppose to be immersive. Great acting is a large chunk of that immersion.
I love that they included Jaheira and Minsc in the game, 2 of the best characters from Baldur's Gate 1&2! The voice cast is one of the best i've heard in a game! I love that Jennifer and Devora play up their characters rivalry all the time!
It's funny how the voice actors for this tabletop RPG game are having the same feelings of 'not wanting to let go' of the characters they've been a fundamental part of, much like others experience when nearing a long term campaign in DND. Very heartfelt and it shows that the writers at Larian much like a good dungeon master, are masters of their craft.
Lae'Zels arc is so good! Shes such a sweetheart when you romance her. The way her character evolves from being really stubborn and cold, to adoring you. Saying you've awakened something in her that she never thought she would feel. Love for everyone choosing her, even if she was rude at the beginning 😄. That makes the romance feel even more rewarding.
A sweetheart?!? Her courtship ends with her trying to beat me into submission in single combat, which I won btw. Also the only reason I chose her was she literally couldn't keep it in her pants any longer after seeing me slaughter our enemies with my massive weapon. Probably would have picked Karlach if we had found her before then.
To perform in front of an audience is the typically the most rewarding experience as a musician, so I can imagine all of the time spent recording in a booth and the shock when suddenly millions of people are witness to your performances and showing their applause through art, fan fictions, rating the game, commenting on these videos, watching the VA live streams… as writers, directors, animators and particularly the voice actors have impacted our experience so deeply, I am glad they can feel all of us giving them their standing ovation, over and over again.
I hadn't really connected just how many of the VAs you had interviewed until I saw the timestamps here! I have been watching them as they have come out, but it hadn't connected.
Is it bad I bought BG3 full price on 3 different platforms? (Xbox day one release, PS5 and Steam) I think these devs really deserve every penny as they truly care about their consumers and the amazing voice actors deserve every bit of praise they get for this amazing game. Solid 10/10 for me!
It's a rarity when all the stars align and you get a masterpiece. Baldur's Gate 3 is one of the best games ever made and I hope all the actors that participated in in it get the full recognition they deseve and doors fully open for them to flourish their careers. They all deserve it. Shout out to Samantha Beart for voicing one of the most charasmatic and memorable characters I've ever experienced in any format.
BG3 helped me get through 3 months of nothing but stress after stress after stress so it has a special place in my heart. It's still helping me get through a shit ton of stress so hearing the voice actors/actresses saying how much they love the fans really touched my heart. Thank you, VCs and Larian!
I have never been the type to fanboy over any piece of public media but this game had so much passion put into it and it got me hooked...i cant help but feel this "Urge" to have the same cast (Including the writers from Larian) work on an animated series...

I have almost 900 hours in this game, still haven't finished it (mainly because of all the new build videos ive watched). But its been an utter joy to play this game
I literally feel bad for buying that on an 10% discount tho. BG3 is such a game that i would spend 100-1500 bucks on. Its just one of the kind.. we diddnt had such a great game for a very long time. Imo it even beats TW3 incl all dlcs.

@Tim Downie and the people that created the character of Gale - a huge thank you, I love him so much with his mixture of charisma, a bit of pride, being a loverboy and carrying a big burden while being the most level-headed member of my party for a nice contrast with the other fiery companions. But truly there's not a single downright bad or boring character in this whole game, so thanks to all involved parties. P.S. Allen, you need a get a hold of Gortash's actor for one of these podcast interviews, love his role of the sleek but slimy villain that tempts you.
I love Tracy Wiles. BG3 is only the second video game I’ve ever played, and I had no idea what save scumming was either 😅 min-maxing, rougelike, all the acronyms, we need a dictionary!

I know there are a lot of people behind the scene also, my thanks go the them as well, but you guys are the front stage actors, and you were all AMAZING! I wish we could have heard from Rena Valeh (Ethel), Dario Coates (Barcus), and others with smaller parts. Even though they had less dialogues, their professionalism and dedication is just as impressive. BG3 is certainly an iconic rpg. It will be played, and talked about for years to come. There have been other iconic rpgs before, but it's the first time (to my knowledge) us gamers are allowed to be so close to the voice/mocap actors. I never could say thank you to those who came before. And I am SO GLAD I can say (write) it to you guys. I want to close by saying fan love can be tough sometimes. I have so much gratitude for these actors. I imagine it can be super hard to like..."get" what the full picture of a game will be, to believe in the project, to understand fully one character's role in it, to wait *years* for it to come out. The performances in this game are, I think, the best in any game I've ever played.
Gale aka Tim Downie is so instantly recognisable. I really like the way he pronounces "ee" sounds, as in "I do not need to consume an artifact this very moment". He also has the most interesting romance fantasies.

game still strong its going randomly top 2-6 on steam most played games for a long time. pretty good for a single player game. 90% on top 20 are online games.
To be honest, I wasn't expecting such an amazing games and great cast of actors and characters, I almost didn't get the game as I wanted to see my friends thoughts on it as someone who loves DnD, suffice to say I am glad I've been able to play the game, over 300 hours in and almost have the Platinum for it, this is a game I can enjoy for a long time and I look forward to future content from Larian and all these amazing actors.
Tomorrow the physical version is arriving in the mail, so I can finally see what the hype is about, just hope I'm gonna like it, my mom as well, not sure if we'll do coop, cause she isn't very at good at games, so hoping it's simple enough and fun for her so she can join perhaps, if not she can always watch me play.
Hope you've been enjoying it thus far. If not, that's fine too, not every game is for everyone. But for me, the most enjoyment I've had with the game is just in exploration and discovery. There's so many options to do, well, more or less anything. There's a lot of passion that went into it. Since I grew up with the first two games, I was sceptical that this one would be a worthy successor, even though if I could've trusted anyone to do it in today's gaming landscape, it would have been Larian (based on DOS and DOS2). But I can say they surpassed my expectations.
@@Harkz0r Yes so far I'm really liking it, I'm at the part where you talked with the druid healer, it does take a lot of getting used to at first, I got really frustrated with the combat at the thief hideout, cause I kept dying, but I'm starting to get it a little better, but still need to learn way more how all the skills and spells work. Not sure if I'll play coop, don't think it's really gonna add much for my mom, it's way to complicated for her with all menus, I think, she'll enjoy it way more watching me play and making all the dialogue decisions.
@@annemariegeudeke8378 That's understandable, if you're not familiar with D20 systems then it can be quite a steep learning curve. It is a "PC game" at its heart so it surprised me how popular it became. I haven't played tabletop but I did play the first two games and Pathfinder, so I only had to learn how 5th edition rules were different and it all slot into place. One thing I will say is that I like how much creativity and freedom the game gives you. Like you can throw oil barrels at enemies and ignite them, or polymorph into a huge creature and leap on enemies, or even pick up smaller creatures (like goblins) and throw them off cliffs, buildings or even at other enemies lol. Or just be a persuasive bastard and avoid as much combat as you can :p It is a lot of reading for the spell and ability descriptions etc but you'll probably pick it up as you go. Glad to hear you're enjoying it in any case :)
I love everyone's comments, truly, but something that stood out to me is Stephen Boxer as a sceptic of games being won over by the possibilities of the medium. That brought a big ol' smile to my face.
I saved Jaheira at moonrise Towers by telekenis her back to safety every time she charged into my AOE to engage half the army lol. IT worked!! She lived.

When your game is so good and so well done that it riles up nearly every other game developer for “setting a new standard”, you know you’ve done a great job. The game is not without fault, looking at you bugs, but never have I once regretted buying this game.

As a massive D&D fan-and OG Baldurs Gate fan-I bought into the Early Access of this game without hesitation. Yet as much as I enjoyed the EA, I had *no* idea what a phenomenon this game would end up being after launch!!!
Art is mind blowing. the story lines and choices presented to players, are amazing so many twist, ups and downs. the actors are a UGE part of this game success . BARDUR"S GATE 3 . game of the year! BRAVO!

But better. I am sorry not sorry, but I will never forgive some of the cast, Peter Dinklage in particular, for the things they said about the fans hating season 8. It was the same energy as that Bethesda guy recently gaslighting gamers about Starfield.

On my thrid run, giving chance to astarion gale and wyll even if i cheat, i reroled gale as warrior and wyll as barbarian to keep them alive. I really suck with magician. Amazing game, amazing team and amazing voice actors. You all rocks thanks for this game of year and incrediable evasion out of mad world.

BG3 helped me get through 3 months of nothing but stress after stress after stress so it has a special place in my heart. It's still helping me get through a shit ton of stress so hearing the voice actors/actresses saying how much they love the fans really touched my heart. Thank you, VCs and Larian!
I have never been the type to fanboy over any piece of public media but this game had so much passion put into it and it got me hooked...i cant help but feel this "Urge" to have the same cast (Including the writers from Larian) work on an animated series...
This game is an experience. It's an actual role-playing experience. I've never been so dialed into an rpg.

I have almost 900 hours in this game, still haven't finished it (mainly because of all the new build videos ive watched). But its been an utter joy to play this game
I literally feel bad for buying that on an 10% discount tho. BG3 is such a game that i would spend 100-1500 bucks on. Its just one of the kind.. we diddnt had such a great game for a very long time. Imo it even beats TW3 incl all dlcs.

@Tim Downie and the people that created the character of Gale - a huge thank you, I love him so much with his mixture of charisma, a bit of pride, being a loverboy and carrying a big burden while being the most level-headed member of my party for a nice contrast with the other fiery companions. But truly there's not a single downright bad or boring character in this whole game, so thanks to all involved parties.
P.S. Allen, you need a get a hold of Gortash's actor for one of these podcast interviews, love his role of the sleek but slimy villain that tempts you.
I love Tracy Wiles. BG3 is only the second video game I’ve ever played, and I had no idea what save scumming was either 😅 min-maxing, rougelike, all the acronyms, we need a dictionary!

Let me start by saying: THANK YOU! All of you collaborated and gave your best to created this amazing game. I know there are a lot of people behind the scene also, my thanks go the them as well, but you guys are the front stage actors, and you were all AMAZING! I wish we could have heard from Rena Valeh (Ethel), Dario Coates (Barcus), and others with smaller parts. Even though they had less dialogues, their professionalism and dedication is just as impressive.
BG3 is certainly an iconic rpg. It will be played, and talked about for years to come. There have been other iconic rpgs before, but it's the first time (to my knowledge) us gamers are allowed to be so close to the voice/mocap actors. I never could say thank you to those who came before. And I am SO GLAD I can say (write) it to you guys.
I want to close by saying fan love can be tough sometimes. I hope none of you is overburdened by it. Feel free to step back and take time for yourself. 🥰🥰🥰 And thank you for making to lonesome gamer really happy. You deserve all the wins coming your way. Enjoy!
I have so much gratitude for these actors. I imagine it can be super hard to like..."get" what the full picture of a game will be, to believe in the project, to understand fully one character's role in it, to wait *years* for it to come out. The performances in this game are, I think, the best in any game I've ever played.
Gale aka Tim Downie is so instantly recognisable. I really like the way he pronounces "ee" sounds, as in "I do not need to consume an artifact this very moment". He also has the most interesting romance fantasies.

game still strong its going randomly top 2-6 on steam most played games for a long time. pretty good for a single player game. 90% on top 20 are online games.
Deluxe edition locked down on top of the regular edition, thanks to Larian and the cast for a once in a generation game.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting such an amazing games and great cast of actors and characters, I almost didn't get the game as I wanted to see my friends thoughts on it as someone who loves DnD, suffice to say I am glad I've been able to play the game, over 300 hours in and almost have the Platinum for it, this is a game I can enjoy for a long time and I look forward to future content from Larian and all these amazing actors.
Tomorrow the physical version is arriving in the mail, so I can finally see what the hype is about, just hope I'm gonna like it, my mom as well, not sure if we'll do coop, cause she isn't very at good at games, so hoping it's simple enough and fun for her so she can join perhaps, if not she can always watch me play.

Hope you've been enjoying it thus far. If not, that's fine too, not every game is for everyone. But for me, the most enjoyment I've had with the game is just in exploration and discovery. There's so many options to do, well, more or less anything. There's a lot of passion that went into it.
Since I grew up with the first two games, I was sceptical that this one would be a worthy successor, even though if I could've trusted anyone to do it in today's gaming landscape, it would have been Larian (based on DOS and DOS2). But I can say they surpassed my expectations.
@@Harkz0r Yes so far I'm really liking it, I'm at the part where you talked with the druid healer, it does take a lot of getting used to at first, I got really frustrated with the combat at the thief hideout, cause I kept dying, but I'm starting to get it a little better, but still need to learn way more how all the skills and spells work. Not sure if I'll play coop, don't think it's really gonna add much for my mom, it's way to complicated for her with all menus, I think, she'll enjoy it way more watching me play and making all the dialogue decisions.
@@annemariegeudeke8378 That's understandable, if you're not familiar with D20 systems then it can be quite a steep learning curve. It is a "PC game" at its heart so it surprised me how popular it became. I haven't played tabletop but I did play the first two games and Pathfinder, so I only had to learn how 5th edition rules were different and it all slot into place.
One thing I will say is that I like how much creativity and freedom the game gives you. Like you can throw oil barrels at enemies and ignite them, or polymorph into a huge creature and leap on enemies, or even pick up smaller creatures (like goblins) and throw them off cliffs, buildings or even at other enemies lol. Or just be a persuasive bastard and avoid as much combat as you can :p It is a lot of reading for the spell and ability descriptions etc but you'll probably pick it up as you go.

I love everyone's comments, truly, but something that stood out to me is Stephen Boxer as a sceptic of games being won over by the possibilities of the medium. That brought a big ol' smile to my face.

When your game is so good and so well done that it riles up nearly every other game developer for “setting a new standard”, you know you’ve done a great job. The game is not without fault, looking at you bugs, but never have I once regretted buying this game.

As a massive D&D fan-and OG Baldurs Gate fan-I bought into the Early Access of this game without hesitation. Yet as much as I enjoyed the EA, I had *no* idea what a phenomenon this game would end up being after launch!!!
Art is mind blowing. the story lines and choices presented to players, are amazing so many twist, ups and downs. the actors are a UGE part of this game success . BARDUR"S GATE 3 . game of the year! BRAVO!

I am sorry not sorry, but I will never forgive some of the cast, Peter Dinklage in particular, for the things they said about the fans hating season 8. It was the same energy as that Bethesda guy recently gaslighting gamers about Starfield.

On my thrid run, giving chance to astarion gale and wyll even if i cheat, i reroled gale as warrior and wyll as barbarian to keep them alive. I really suck with magician. Amazing game, amazing team and amazing voice actors. You all rocks thanks for this game of year and incrediable evasion out of mad world.
For anybody who just wants to chill the BG3 narrator outtakes are just a lot of fun to listen to.
my only regret this year is not buying the beatiful collectors edition
