Was a delight DMing for this crew on the one-shot. Was a little nerve wracking, but got a lot of great little stories from behind the scenes, and hey I brought Bing Bong into this world. ;) Hopefully I get to DM for them all again someday!
Mark, you were amazing! Thanks to you I decided to try tabletop :D Till now I was just playing crpg games but seeing how fun it could be with such amazing DM I decided to try it. Its enormously impressive how well you could change your voice and personalities to match any character you played. Its seriously mind blowing. I hope I'll meet DM's with even half of your skill or even play with you personally one day. England is not too far from me (Im from Poland) so who knows :D
The image of Shadowheart hugging and holding hands with a chunky imp will forever be engraved in my brain. That was probably one of the most endearing moments
I think laezel would be fun to play in a dnd campaign. An alien that is learning earth customs and norms for the first time, but it’s all skewed because she’s surrounded by lunatics. 😂
Jen having the bingbong t-shirt and necklace 😂. This cast is the best. Their one off game with high rollers was so much fun and i say that as a newbie to d&d.
I think Neil hit it right on the head regarding role playing in an actual play versus acting in a script. The biggest difference I noticed was that most of the characters felt closer towards the actor's actual personalities and I think that's because there wasn't a script involved. In the AP, Karlach was a lot less happy and hyper, Gale was a lot more goofy and silly, and Shadowheart was a lot more kind and considerate. Astarion, Lae'Zel and Wyll still felt pretty close to their gaming counterparts, but I have to give major props to Jennifer, Sam, etc for performing characters so well that are off center from who they are.
I love this crew so much. They have such great chemistry considering how recently most of them met for the first time. I would absolutely love to see another DnD campaign with them all.
Agreed, such lovable bunch of lovable ppl. The only other time Ive seen voice cast this lovable was with Overwatch, which is exactly why its darn shame Overwatch is just a multiplayer game with cool cinematic trailers, but does not (atleast yet) have singleplayer campaign of any kind. I love that they are getting so much attention, for their amazing work, which usually you don't see happening in the video gaming world, with voice actors. Love it! Wish them all the best success!

This game is so special and it's brought so many people together. It was genuinely heartwarming to see the cast at MCM yesterday. Neil was an absolute trooper and had a massive queue of people all day and still hours later, I checked in and he was still on his feet and as animated as ever. Samantha and Jennifer were literally hugging people. I was gutted that I didn't get to meet any of them face to face but seeing them interact with fans in the room in such a lovely way is something seriously special and these guys are all fantastic.
What a great interview! So cool seeing the voice actors of a current favorite game! Them all hearing Shadowheart's line and Neil performing it was fantastic 😂 and I'm with Jen #JusticeforBingBong !!!
Clearly the writers who scripted the story for each companion story are the heart of Baldurs Gate 3. But these talented actors provided the soul and nuance to connect with the player. This game is/ will continue to be a benchmark for narrative storytelling. The entire cast (voice and motion capture), and BTS directors should be commended.
Whats crazy is each of the actors could honestly play their characters live action, with a bit of makeup and a haircut. Its also still so weird to hear Jennifer speak, because her voice is just so much Shadowheart in my head and that character, and I feel like I know her so intimately because of that but then obviously realize its just a weird brain trick/short-circuit happening , its a really kinda unnerving feeling.
I think it could totally work, and for Shadowheart's voice, Jen has a slight catch when she is speaking that I noticed. Really humanises her charatcer.
Love the interview! Thank you for showing us this lovely ‘behind the scenes’. Although they are not technically the *voice* cast but just the *cast*, since they did so much more than just voice work for BG3… Samantha and Dave both spoke about this in panels, so it would be nice to see other people starting to refer to them as the cast as well!

You all know your character and because you are new to the System, the Character was the top Priority. And this is what many players are lacking. Way to often i see characters just lifeless shells builded up to take advantage of the System in an optimized way. Of course, there are many good players being capable of doing this as well. But seeing you, so fresh and clueless towards this system managing to pull of such a dynamic and joyfull performance was heaven. I didn't play this game until the full release. I think August? When I bought it I watched a few videos to learn how the mechanics worked but as little as possible to avoid all spoilers. I wanted to enjoy the game without knowning much about it. But I did know some stuff about Act 1 because it was kind of unavoidable in the things I watched even though the people making the vids tried to avoid spoilers as well. So long before anyone was raving about any of the voice actors (that I saw), Neil just stood out to me as a phenomenal voice actor. When I first encountered him I thought I was really going to not like him (Astarion, not Neil). He seemed arrogant and a bit of a douche. But he quickly grew on me and his work when we beat Calzador (the epilogue) was just great. The man stole every scene. He's just so good. Also love Shadowheart. I mean who doesn't love Shadowheart? I need to spend more time playing with Karlach in my party because I love her attitude and have mostly not played with her in any of my playthru's other than to advance her quest line minimally.

Throw down some spikes or something and if you have an action left then take a shot or do a defensive thing and end turn. Or I could analyze every bad guy on the screen, look at all my possible actions. Run all the numbers, try to think eight turns into the future and 20-30 minutes later decide to do a thing.
