  • This Simple Rustic Farmhouse headboard DIY was one of my favorites by far. The frame took us no more then 20 mins to assemble. We decided not to attach it to the bed frame so it just sits perfectly between the wall and frame. Best thing about this project is you can tweak the measurements and customize It to your liking. We really hope you enjoy the video and reference back when you are building your own headboard!

    Came across this video as I was building mine. I was like there, this is what I had in mind. Will be adding 2 lights to the 4X4 posts at the top by the end caps. Thank you. I want to attach mine to the bed and make footboard to match

    I made a headboard similar to this but used tongue and groove for the center and I spent a little extra and got untreated 4x4s and attached wall sconces on each side. ❤️

      Oh yay, super simple and you will love it! We did not attach it to the bed but you simply can do so by adding a board to the lower end of the posts and screwing your bed frame to the post :)

    For the 1*8, the cut list says 6 feet. The audio on the video says they are 75 inches. Can you help with this?

    • @SasseeV
      @SasseeV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, 75 inches is what I went with which is a little taller but you can do 6 feet which is 72 inches. I hope that helps :)

    • @SasseeV
      @SasseeV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! Yes we did. You can add another board to the bottom of the bed board and attach to the frame or just leave It as is.

    Hey kids nice project ... but don’t use treated lumber to sleep next to. That stuff is not good to have close contact with over time. Kind of toxic stuff, the only toxic stuff I sleep next to is my wife.

      @SasseeV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NORA LORENZ I totally recommend DIY’ing It yourself. Super easy and It literally took my husband and I less than 15min to build. Best part you can make your own adjustments by measuring the width and height of your bed and depending on how tall you want It to stand. 🙂

    You are not really supposed to use treated lumber indoors, it can be very harmful to your family

    • @SasseeV
      @SasseeV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Pressure treated lumber can be used in any interior application accept for cutting boards and counter tops. We did our research before even considering bringing It into our home. Thank you so much for your concern! ❤️

    Are the measurements for a std king or california king? Tia

    • @SasseeV
      @SasseeV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Measurements are for a standard king bed.

  • @mystikarain
    @mystikarain 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just be careful with 4X4 posts, the ones that they are showing look like they are treated outdoor lumber, be conscience about using it indoors because they can harm your animals or children (not saying this to be mean but some kids do bite or taste test things) if they try to eat it for long periods of time. Treated wood for outdoor use contains active ingredients commonly used are alkaline copper quaternary (ACQ), copper azole (CA) or micronized copper azole (MCA), Micronized Copper preservatives tend to leach less copper than other copper based wood preservatives. Alkaline Copper Quaternary (ACQ) and Copper Azole (CA) generally leach more than CCA-treated wood. However, the parts that are released into the environment tend to be lower in toxicity. Copper is considered less toxic compared to arsenic that had been the industry standard, although less toxic it can still be a concern to most.

    How do you attach the bed frame to the headboard?

    • @SasseeV
      @SasseeV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! You certainly can attach it but we didn’t. Ours just sits in between the wall and bed frame.

    • @melissadelorey9927
      @melissadelorey9927 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vanessa Valle are you able to send a picture of how it’s positioned between frame and wall? Do the 4x4 sit on outside on gram or inside? Sorry- headed to Home Depot in the morning for supplies as you’ve made such a gorgeous headboard look affordable and easy. Just wanting to know how it will stay in place- Thank you!!!

    • @SasseeV
      @SasseeV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries! Not sure that I can send a picture. The bed frame is what’s holding the two post on each side, the frame is in between the wall and frame- if that makes sense. You can definitely add another long board across the bottom to secure It a little more. We have a sleep mattress that moves up and down so the bed doesn’t have the area to attach a bed board to It. If you have a frame that has the holes for It then yes you can screw It to the the posts on each side. I hope this helps. ☺️

    The green treated 4x4s are copper arsenic they are toxic, when I saw you “buffing” them I was wondering how sick you got .
    Please take this down or put in a disclaimer before you hurt someone

      It’s not toxic, I asked worker before purchasing.
