Rustic farmhouse is right up my alley. You have excellent taste, my friends. That is positively stunning, a real work of art! You didn't tell us how Jaime likes it, though. 😉~Cynthia
Ive built a lot of simple furniture out of dimensional lumber. Its functional, sturdy, and will outlast most store purchased furniture. I love how your bed turned out!! And now I have some ideas for making my daughters unbreakable bed ( we have never been able to get her to stop jumping on her bed no matter what we do, so I built her a frame she couldnt break) prettier! I love the tongue and groove on the ends! I have never done a dato groove, but I'm about to learn 😁 thanks again!! You guys are amazing and I always learn something from you. 👍🥰
On the next ones make the headboard extend to the bottom of the mattress. You'll find that having it where you do on this one that your pillows tend to migrate up and under the bottom rail. We had a bed with a headboard that didn't extend to the bottom of the mattress and it was frustrating waking in the middle of the night to yank your pillows back out
This looks almost exactly like the bed my husband made about 6 years ago. Except our headboard is down to the frame so our pillows don't fall in and we didn't put drawers underneath because we have the tubs on rollers that fit perfectly. He also included a two gang outlet box on either side of the headboard for each of us to use to plug anything in like our lamps Chargers Etc. And the headboard just plugs into the wall. We also use reclaimed wood that we did not stain and it looks more of the color of driftwood.
Remember that pressure treated wood is usually treated with chemicals to resist rot outdoors so the wood dust can be a hazard. Wear a mask during cutting and sanding. Always seal the wood with at least a clear varnish or paint to sequester the chemicals if the surfaces are not run through a planer. The chemical layer is not very deep so planing usually removes it.
Carpenter here, it works best to stain the wood BEFORE you assemble the piece of furniture. That ALSO prevents wood glue drips from affecting the absorption of the stain or other finishes. And always let glue drips dry completely BEFORE removing them, never EVER wipe them off.😉
WOW! that bed is absolutely Gorgeous! You did a great job! Like Thalinor said, You SHOULD start making up plans, and sell those! (more money for you guys!) thank you for sharing! :)
Aloha, Jeremy! The thumbnail for this video is the first time we’ve seen you “lying down on the job” since you first started this project! 😆 (well-earned!)
Nice Job.. looks comfyyyyyyyyy.. You deserve a comfy nights rest.. you guys have been non stop for years now.. yay.. Looks good guys.. so happy for you !!!!
Jeremy, there are plenty of excellent thrift stores in your area, perfect for buying really good furniture. Some may require some TLC. You likely can find top brand furniture, they you can have reupholstered and still come out saving money. Also check the furniture outlet stores. Also look for original art. The bed turned out wonderful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Fabulous bed, wow you are so talented!!!!! I am amazed 👏 😍. My arms go to sleep, back hurts. I've never heard of Helix. I'll b looking it up. I'm so very happy, you both have worked hard for a VERY VERY long time. I first heard of your channel to learn to Pressure can food. I learned much and remember your living conditions. Yea you all survived. Believe and you will receive 🙏 ✨️. Your utube channel has taught everyone everything!!! I am greatful to u both.... Bet the girls are all grown up by now. Bless your family.
Wow! The bed is absolutely beautiful, Jeremy! My husband has built me some furniture over the years, and this reminds me so much of it. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Wow, and to end it with that sunset, perfect!! Great job Jeremy, did Jamie love it? I'll bet she did! Thank so much for sharing your process, it's a privaledge! Smiles and blessings...
Amazing! Were you always this great with woodworking? I love how when the baseboards were set down, they did not fall over. Can we order new beds from you? They'll last forever, great craftmanship and skill!
I still consider myself an amateur at woodworking, but I do have quite a few orders for these beds and matching side tables now. As long as you aren't in a hurry. 😂
A very neat drawing. Looks like a draughtsman did it, it's so neat. Your bed is beautiful and has been built better than a bought bed. Well done. PERFECT.
#perfect Looks sturdy enuff to park your 4x4 on and change the oil 😁😍😴😴 (of course, the mattress would be stored in a safe place and the center between the drawers would be your Jiffy Lube trench) I wish that it took 30 minutes to make a bed like that. It would be a 5-day project for me!! Are you going to add any LED reading lamps or strip lighting? Good thing Jamie was not in the room when you jumped on the bed with your BOOTS on. 🤠🤠
"WOW", Pure craftsmanship!!! You are very talented. If I did not watch this video I would have wondered where did you purchase this bed at. The bed came out fantastic.
Love my helix mattress got two single long ones and together they make a king, but I’m heavier n a side sleeper my wife is a back sleeper much lighter, the catch is if my mattress wears out faster I can buy only one single at a time.
Thanks for the video, I came to the same conclusion while purchasing our new piece of property. Rather than purchasing high priced particle board garbage I am just going to build it.
Holy crap! Was that the sunset out your wonderful windows? That was extraordinarily beautiful! I love how you crack me up from beginning to end! 🤣 Thank you for that aspect of your videos! I am so in the market for a new mattress and like you I am a side sleeper so now you have my interest piqued on that mattress. I will be looking forward to an update on the mattress and how you're feeling about it after a few months of use.
Gorgeous job on the bed! My dad made a lot of our furniture. I still have the bookcase that he made me. Each piece got better as he got more proficient and creative.
Thankfully there is a place near me that supports Habitat for Humanity (that’s where the profits go) that has a lot of good quality older furniture. Yes, it’s used, but it holds up better than a lot of the cheaply made newer, mass produced items.
I had all kinds of praise for you regarding that build, but then you threw that sunset shot in at the end of the vidya and it confused a guy. I lost all train of thought. LOL! Turned out great man!!!
PERFECT rustic farmhouse bed... Nicely done Jeremy and now I would like to put my order in for one rustic farmhouse bed ; ) ...... ( jk hehehehe). But seriously, you did a fantastic job, enjoyed the video and look forward to the next one =)
Hi Oh yeah my bags are packed...That bed looks so good !! I'm ready for a nap, wake at dinner time please......lol I'm planning to build a frame for my move able bed i have...tanks for sharing it looks so good
Beautiful job, Jeremy! You must be filled with satisfaction from all that you've accomplished building your home. I love watching how it all comes together and am looking forward to your next project. Also, I'm going to look into those mattresses. Thanks for sharing...😀
Hi again What a super job you did on the bed! Perfect for the space style and what you wanted. Thinking I'll be checking out the mattress as I've been wanting one. Looking forward to the other furniture you'll be making. What an awesome savings it is to make your own!! Thx for sharing...
My second half and I got a Helix mattress 7 or 8 years ago and still absolutely love it. It felt like a huge gamble at the time. We didn’t get free pillows, though.
Wow the bed turned out PERFECT 😍😆. Your drawing plans reminds me of @Hollis and Nancy’s Homestead drawing plans. It helps the viewer what the dimensions are in case we want to build the same bed. You guys are awesome. 😎🍻 Tell Jaime I love her diffuser. What fragrance essential oil is she using?
Well done, Jeremy! Nice work! Hey, Rockler makes a router table dust collector/scoop that's positioned at the end of the slot you're cutting. Great Pocket Hole work! I'm a fan! Thanks, man! Thanks, Team #GuildbrookFarm!
I noticed in your basement that the foam is still exposed. We are midway through our ICF home build and it’s code (where we live)to cover all the foam even in the basement. Our basement is technically unfinished even though we have drywall hung.
In a lot of places it depends on the foam type and placement. My friend's entire basement was professionally foamed as part of a dry-basement system. Ugliest thing I've ever seen, but it's totally fine here. If you were to do the attic, though, you have to put in drywall.
Really beautiful piece of furniture - you did a great job. If you are going to be building more furniture, I would recommend Ana White's channel if you are not familiar ..really good diy designs, great instruction and I think free plans for many pieces. If nothing else you might get some ideas for design and technique.

LOVE IT! Best mattress we’ve ever had. Hopefully getting more of them soon.
Rustic farmhouse is right up my alley. You have excellent taste, my friends. That is positively stunning, a real work of art! You didn't tell us how Jaime likes it, though. 😉~Cynthia
Watched you guys since you started your channel!! Wow what progress you have made in life! Bravo!
Thanks so much!!
What a great feeling to make a perfectly functional and attractive bed from “scraps”.
One word sums this beautiful bed up, and you already said it ... “#Perfect”!!!!!
On the next ones make the headboard extend to the bottom of the mattress.
You'll find that having it where you do on this one that your pillows tend to migrate up and under the bottom rail.
We had a bed with a headboard that didn't extend to the bottom of the mattress and it was frustrating waking in the middle of the night to yank your pillows back out
The headboard extends 4” below the top of the mattress so that hasn’t been a problem.
This looks almost exactly like the bed my husband made about 6 years ago. Except our headboard is down to the frame so our pillows don't fall in and we didn't put drawers underneath because we have the tubs on rollers that fit perfectly. Yep. That’s what I’ll be doing from now on. It took FOREVER to stain that dumb thing already assembled. 🤣
⚘I am looking forward to seeing your builds in the future, Jeremy. You really do rock when it comes to all things custom built.
You need to start a bed-building business because I love that bed that is nice and I mean that
Oddly enough I have a bunch of orders for beds already.
WOW! that bed is absolutely Gorgeous! You did a great job! Like Thalinor said, You SHOULD start making up plans, and sell those! (more money for you guys!) thank you for sharing! :)
Great video Jeremy...."built like a truck" them drawers!!!🤣😂
Pretty much!
Perfect!!! Seriously :D. I think you need to get a lathe for future wood working projects. You might enjoy that. Love what you do Jeremy!!
That is the finest bed I've ever seen. Good work. You are amazing.
I like "that stuff" - never boring.
That bed turned out so nice. Terrific work. "Perfect!"
Aloha, Jeremy! The thumbnail for this video is the first time we’ve seen you “lying down on the job” since you first started this project! 😆 (well-earned!)

Beautiful work
You are very, very talented. Thanks for sharing.
Good job! Looks awesome.
Wow! Freakin gorgeous! Get ready for your subscribers to put in orders! 😂
Working on it! Already have several orders. As long as no one is in a big hurry.
That’s a beautiful 🤩 bed!!! What I wanna know, do you ever just be lazy??? Lol 😂
Not very often. I have to do something productive each day lol.
Fantastic job!
You deserve it Jeremy. Enjoy! I know they say it is the journey and not the destination, but nothing wrong with a few stops along the way.

Yes watching the sunsets each day is my new favorite thing to do here. They're incredible.
@@Guildbrookfarm - I bet they are because video never does the real thing true justice.
That's exactly right. You couldn't even replicate it in a painting.
@@Guildbrookfarm - Wow! That’s saying a lot for sure!
My son and his wife have a Helix mattress and love it.
I’ve had a couple different Select Comfort mattresses in the past and thought they were good, but this Helix is way better. Lovin it.
beautiful work
Thank you! Cheers!
Gorgeous job on the bed! My dad made a lot of our furniture. I still have the bookcase that he made me. Each piece got better as he got more proficient and creative.
God Bless you!! Did a great job...

I was able to buy consignment furniture. Good quality and unique! Good job on the bed.
