Very nice!!! Good build. The only thing that I might suggest is to make the top cap wider so it hangs over the front edge some. 1/2'' to 3/4'' maybe. Love the lighting! I wanted to do that to my headboard but never got around to it. My headboard is a pair of upcycled red double entry doors. Aprox 64'' wide. Took me about 2 years to come up with a way to fasten them so they didn't kill me in my sleep. French cleat should have been obvious... How does your headboard fasten to the frame?
I loved the headboard but I really love your set up with your saw tables! Would you possibly take pics or video of them for me! I would love to do your whole set up! Thank you!
Hi Bee I actually have a video and plans for this set up! Thank you for asking and watching. Here’s a link to the miter bench - DIY Table saw workbench
That would have been a good shot for sure! If I’m being honest I have a hard time remembering to catch everything on camera when I’m building! 😂 but im getting better
The frame that she had was wood and she just bolted it to the frame. some people use a regular metal bed frame and attach the headboard to the wall. Whichever you prefer. On most bed frames there is a spot for the head board to attach and you just screw or bolt it through those holes.
I’m pretty sure the California king is a tad narrower than a regular king size. So I would just check the measurements and make sure to adjust as needed.
WOW! I love this! I want to make it for myself :) I have a question: I have laminate flooring and it's quite slippery, how would I ensure the headboard doesn't move? What do you think I could add for more stability to the headboard on the floor? Thank you in advance :)
Hi Ele! Im excited for you to build this, I would use an L bracket down where the mattress will sit and attach each post to the wall or you could add a cross piece on the back of the posts and screw that into the wall directly just make sure its into a stud 😉
Just a few minutes, you don’t really need the wax to set, you just need it to be a barrier between the stain and paint. Vaseline works in a similar way too 😉
great question! Because lumber varies depending on location I would suggest using the materials list I created here and punch it into an online store near you to calculate a more accurate cost. For me it was under $110 good luck!
Not an electrician but I believe u can not attach the lights like that. You would need a pancake housing. If wire was to spark the wood may ignite. U may want to ask.
Love this! I have my Grandmother's blessed candle sticks so I use those for the wax. Everything I distress is blessed🙂
Oh that’s awesome! What a cool way to incorporate her memory
This lady got it going on! music is cool ! Relax!
I've been digging around looking for a headboard idea that I like, and this just might be it. Thanks! The 1x6's look great.
Thanks for watching
Been talking to my wife about making a head broad for the bed I made months ago. Showing her ideas with lights on the head broad
Nice! Those are sure handy to have!
Wow this turned out beautiful
Thank you!
Great job! I think I will be building this for my wife, thank you!

How does your headboard fasten to the frame?
Really enjoyed this in-depth tutorial. Trying to find a diy headboard to make for my wife.

Very nice build! I love the distressed look on this one!
Thanks!

Awesome job Brandi, it came out great! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks Fred!
Working on building this today. Thanks for the tutorial.
Hope it went well!
Eternal Harvest Decor it went fairly well...still need a few things but the wife loves it!
If I use a 2 x 4 tube as the legs does that complicate the project? Also, how can I attach the legs to the bed frame?
Thanks a lot!
Super joli - great job ! I would have liked to see how you plugged the lamps to the power.
That would have been a good shot for sure! If I’m being honest I have a hard time remembering to catch everything on camera when I’m building! 😂 but im getting better
@@EternalHarvestDecor Next time 😉. i am impressed by your équipement and how everything is well organized !
Whoa this is awesome!
Thanks!
Nicely done Brandi. The only thing that would've made this video better is a bit of dance-sanding.
haha
Keep rocking it!!
Thanks Gary!
Did you do anything with the light switch or just keep it on the wire behind the frame?
I just kept it on the wire behind the people who I built it for left it on and put it on a smart switch
Ok thank you!
If I don't want the lights, would 4x4's work for the posts?
Also...thank you for easy to follow instructions! 😊
Yes, absolutely
About how much was the material cost?
How does it attach to the frame? Also how will it not lean forward if that makes sense? I've never had just a headboard.

Where is the switch for the lights?
Would a king sized headboard work for a California king?
I’m pretty sure the California king is a tad narrower than a regular king size. So I would just check the measurements and make sure to adjust as needed.
look on Google for the dimensions
Do you make reclaimed wood headboards? What would you make a king size headboard for?
I don’t I’m sorry, I do have a video that talks all about how I do my pricing as well. Thanks for watching
Do you have dimensions for queen size?
minimum of 60" across... probably more like 64-66...you want a little hanger over on the side
a typical queen size is 60" across

How long should the wax stay on before applying the primer?
Just a few minutes, you don’t really need the wax to set, you just need it to be a barrier between the stain and paint. Vaseline works in a similar way too 😉
About how much did this project cost trying to decide if it worth the build or to just buy one already made
great question! Because lumber varies depending on location I would suggest using the materials list I created here and punch it into an online store near you to calculate a more accurate cost. For me it was under $110 good luck!
I did it, better than paying for something that you know how it’s built, no mdf, no particle board .
EXCELLENT❤
Nice, something for Kings, and my Queen ;)
Thanks!
Where do you turn the lights on and off?
My client left them on and plugged them into a smart plug that was timed
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Do you sell these?
I don’t anymore, thanks for watching
Wow cool
Thank you for watching!!

I want a foot board to match
That’s a great idea, same design with shorter sides would work perfect for that! Have fun! Thanks for watching!
Good job mem but very fast fast.
Please slowly video.
The process is too quick and it's not very helpful.
So sorry it didnt work for you.
Do you want me to listen to you or the music? Very distracting.
Haha whichever thanks for watching. We are all learning!
Too fast not helpful
