I took delivery on mine 28 December 2019 and I opted for the base level. I am extremely pleased and to date (14 June 2021)I have only put 1042 miles on it so it really feels like it did the day I drove it home from the dealership. I liked your video Rey much and learned several things I was unaware of and will check it out on mine. Thanks

Previous owner here of a 2009 RX. We traded it in and bought a 19 XT5. I didn't like the ugly styling of the latest RX and so we took a Risk with the XT5. I have 10k miles on it so far and everything has been great. Cadillac has definitely hit it out of the park with this one. It is far more comfortable than my 2009 RX ever was and much better looking compared to Lexus latest offering IMO. If you have any questions for me I would be happy to encourage you to make a switch away from Lexus.

Had the 2019 XT5 Luxury trim as a rental. I am very impressed. Agreed, very heavy, solid, comfortable and well planted ride on the road. Great pick up speed, much quicker compared to our 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Decent steering feel and feedback. However, for its price (near $70K for platinum trim in Canada), it is missing a few items that should come standard - rear window sunshades, LED headlamps (at lower trim), ambient lighting (lower trim), Auto Brake Hold, power windows express up/down (front and rear), digital compass. That said, I still came away impressed. The V6 3.6L engine is a sweetheart.

I bought a used 2019 with 38,000 miles. Very happy with the purchase. My wife drives a new 2021 Buick Envision Essence. Some similar items between the two GM brands. Even though the XT5 dropped 300 pounds from its predecessor the SRX it still feels like a very solid car. I love the wide track stance on this XT5. Very quiet ride and peppy V-6 engine. My luxury edition came with panoramic roof along with the Bose 14 speaker premium setup. It’s missing the hands free option on the rear hatch (wife has it for much less up front money) neither auto has adaptive cruise(not a big deal) but I do like the cruise on the Buick much more. Cadillac is a AWD that can be turned off in the summer for fuel economy, plus the V-6 engine while driving long distance will shut down 2 cyl. For fuel economy also. Very happy with both purchases.

Who else agrees with me that GM and Chevy should change their chime noise to the 4G LTE powered by onStar thing comes on? Switch the all the Ding noises with that new 4G LTE onStar sound. It would definitely make GM seem more sophisticated. Yes the ding is okay. But we need new sounds. And not the same sound for everything in the cars across the whole GM line up. Okay so let me run it down real quick. Put the 4G LTE onStar connecting sound as the new chime noise and the chime noise for the back seat reminder as the alert sounds. :)

I just purchased a used 2019 XT5 and I couldn't tell from your test drive whether the auto-stop feature was engaged or not. You came to enough stop lights to make it happen but without looking at the tachometer or hearing the engine kill wasn't sure. Mine had the auto-stop engaged but after I took it to an independent shop for a flat tire repair it suddenly stopped working which I am more than please with.

I leased the 2019 XT5, I’m quite happy with it. I believe I have the Luxury or the one above that I can’t remember. The naming is super confusing. However I got the full leather interior with heated seats and steering wheel, but with wood grain all over instead of the metal looking door and glove box lining like the one in this car. Just that minor difference makes the inside look so so nice. Plus mine has trim lighting all over, and it looks so sweet at night. All along the door handles and under the wheel/seats/glove box lights up. I believe I have the climate control in the back(need to check, as I haven’t sat in the back yet) so I presume it’s the 2nd or 3rd from the top trim.
Anyways, I love the car like crazy...maybe it’s because the last one I had was no where near the quality as this one...but I got it for a dang good price too.
I leased it for 36 months, $500 a month 0 money down. After checking out the 2019 QX50 loaners, the Q3/q5 2018/19 loaners, the BMW X3 and X5 loaners, nothing came close to that lease price. Plus it was brand new.
My only (incredibly minor) issue is that they were unwilling to let me look into getting LED/HID headlights over the basic halogen. That actually bothered me as I would expect a friggin Cadillac to have high end headlights. They made the daytime LED, so why’d they penny pinch so hard and not go with what essentially every other 2018/2019 vehicle comes basically standard with? It’s a minor thing but it bothered me. Like that was a huge oversight in my opinion, not just for looks but for safety. So now I gotta find LED / HID headlights that will fit and hope that doesn’t fuck with my warranty.

Note* that all the materials in all Cadillac’s are real. So real wood trimmings, real carbon fiber, real metal aluminum for the inserts of the trimming if you don’t get the wood or carbon fiber. And real brushed aluminum door handles. And let me remind you. Since it’s a Cadillac it’s gonna have soft touch materials everywhere.

The only two things I would change about this car:
    1. Add a third row option. This car is the same size and is on the same platform as the GMC Acadia, which offers a third row. I think it would rake in many more family buyers. (I know Cadillac is coming with a full sized crossover soon)
    2. Those halogen headlights. I love GM, but this is just penny pinching. There is absolutely no reason that a luxury car in 2018 should have halogens. HIDs should be standard, if not LED.

I feel like Lexus has kinda given up on their SUVs and crossovers at the worst possible time. Interior quality, technology, and and passenger comfort is far below that of their sedans. Basically all of them need a total, ground up redesign despite the fact that some of them were just refreshed (especially the GX and LX). The Caddy is so fresh and unique that the only worthy competitor in my mind is the new RDX

The engine in the XT5 uses Timing Chains that very long, and in a few years will need replacing even more often than the earlier version of the 3.6. GM should have used a Gear Drive instead, and owners wouldn't be facing replacement coats that are only a few thousand less than complete Engine replacement. BTW, I do own one of these POS.

    Reliability compared to the Lexus?

Tommy Maltipoo close to the Lexus but Buick is actually on top of Lexus which then Lexus is right after them. From Toyota to Honda to Buick to Lexus. Then I would leave a few gaps and then I would put Cadillac in the 6th maybe 7th place of all cars.

I love the car. But the first presenter, the lady, had a clearer quality in her delivery and speech. The young man that takes over speaks too fast and his accent in combination with that does provide for some words being lost in a an unintelligent gurgle. Also he commits the cardinal error of lowering his volume at the end of sentences. The lady is a better presenter. She is 100% clear, more poised and professional.

A friend of mine has a '17 and I rode in it for the first time recently. What struck me was how hard and flat the seat was. The whole interior made me feel like I was sitting in the box my stove came in. It's square and honestly, I wasn't at all impressed. As for two seat position memory and rear window auto down only (???WTF???) my '13 Lincoln MKT has third row, three position memory and the seats are TWELVE way(not eight), full and comfortable and all my windows are auto up AND down A-N-D I have sunscreens! Now, tell me how you absolutely HATE the alpha/numeric name of my MKT! lol.

Since all of these econoboxes have damn near the same powertrain and engine specs, I must say the V6 AWD we just leased doesn’t do much to stand above the rest.
The XT5’s strength is elegant appearance and the interior space which is bigger than the SRX.
“The Luxury Trim” lacks Ventilated/cooled Sears.
This car isn’t worth spending more than $50,000 so I wouldn’t buy the Platinum unless we planned on keeping it 10 years.

I leased the 2019 XT5, I’m quite happy with it. I believe I have the Luxury or the one above that I can’t remember. The naming is super confusing. However I got the leather interior but with wood grain all over instead of the metal door lining like the one in this car, and interior trim lighting along the door handles and under the wheel/seats/glove box. I believe I have the climate control in the back so I presume it’s the 2nd or 3rd from the top trim.
So now I gotta find LED / HID headlights that will fit and hope that doesn’t fuck with my warranty.

car sam I wish that they would’ve made a 2020 version and added a v8 in it! Make us like the original, put a nice v8 I would say the SS’s v8 or the 2008 Camaro SS v8 and make that the best one and I bet you people would buy it. And call it like the original, Impala SS or RS, maybe both, one of the two though would be great. 👍🏼
