I have owned this vehicle for 2 years now......zero problems so far with 30,000 miles. No complaints. Hopefully it will remain a reliable and enjoyable SUV since I plan on keeping it awhile.
My wife and I conducted our own market survey of both foreign and domestic Premium Crossovers SUV's. We concluded that the Cadillac XT5 Platinum was clearly for us. We bought the Cadillac XT5 Platinum, 14 speaker BOSE Sound system is second-to-none, and we're amazingly satisfied.
I just bought a 2019 luxury that came off lease. Absolutely love this car. I’m a person who would rather drive a car in most instances and this SUV drives and rides like a car more so than a truck. My wife has a Buick Envision Essence which to me is a poor man’s Cadillac. But it was a front wheel drive. We needed a AWD which could be shut off for summer or good weather driving for fuel savings. I might add I had a two year lease on a Cadillac SRX and also owned a CTS. Nothing else rides like a Cadillac plus the styling is 2nd to none.

You know this class of vehicles is a tough market. The lease on my mom's 2015 Nissan Murano is ending soon and whatever we lease next we'll probably end up buying. Three days ago me and my dad spent the whole day visiting dealerships. She really wants an Infiniti QX80 or Cadillac Escalade but those SUVS are just way too far out of the price range and they're just way too big of a car for US since it'll just be her and my dad since I'll be heading to college in 2 years. I want something nice, sporty, and compact/midsize like the Jaguar F pace. But the new BMW X3 is coming out soon. Not to mention there's the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, Lincoln MKX, and Mercedes GLC. I'm sure there's a couple others I'm forgetting, but the Cadillac XT5 is definitely I top pick for my parents. They both like the styling and I have to say it looks amazing. My dad also likes that it's an NA 6 cylinder and not a turbo 4 like all of the other crossovers. You always think of Cadillac and Lincoln as the wannabe luxury brands since American cars for a time were crap. Honestly the XT5 shatters that stereotype and I really hope we choose that.
HAVE always always believed in American ingenuity. The Cadillac represents more than luxury cars. Cadillac is the leader in luxury for sure. Cadillac has always shown class, and beauty. More than that its been the model for dependability and safety in American vehicles. Now they are showing you can have all this in a family vehicle that's affordable for young families. Terrific.
The new xt5 10 speed transmission can't figure out what gear to be in a friend of mine rented a 2020 with the 10 speed transmission is a BIG FAIL she even tried to make it perform like the SRX 6 speed transmission but it couldn't perform
Guys, I have a question for my favorite car gurus. When operating the joystick style shifter, did you find it awkward to use? I've heard many people suggest they'd prefer a traditional shift lever.
+PunxsutawneyDave The short answer: yes. The different brands have varying degrees of difficulty but a traditional one is always the simplest solution. There are benefits like added storage but I'm not sure it's worth the trade off. This new GM shifter in particular is one of the hardest to get used to since it makes you go up and to the over to get into reverse. Thanks for watching!
we own two of them- a black Platinum AWD and a red Luxury FWD. both had issue with thermostat though- GM should issue a recall for this common failing part. otherwise wonderful cars. Well made, good value
A friend of ours has an SRX and I hated it. I always liked my CTS though. The CT5 looks a lot better and looks to have more room in the back seat area than the SRX too, plus I like the styling a lot better.
I do like the SRX, better than the XT5 . Because, I own one. The gear Shift in the SRX is where it is suppose to be. The gear Shift in the XT5 is a bad location. I love my SRX .
Not competitive with its peers unless you go too 2 trims, and push 60k+. Halogen headlamps on a 52k car? Really? And no cooled seats? MKX Reserve trim will get every bell and whistle with an engine that puts this one to shame (don’t care about fuel efficiency).
Chris Kellett this was the problem with my SRX. Only way to get brighter headlamps is to go up the trim ladder. This not only adds to the price, mid to upper 50’s, but adds larger wheels and tires that aren’t needed by some.
Wow they’re even using forge designated platinum label? Kind of tells you something I read somewhere else that this is one of the worst crossovers ever!
Garbage car I had one with 87k miles on it I drove it for 5k miles and the trans went out on me replaced trans then motor went garbage garbage garbage no thank you I took a 17k loss I just purchased that car last year

My wife loved her SRX, but she also loves her new XT5, and Im sure who ever sits behind me likes better, I'm 6'-7" so don't move front seat up.....lol

Not a fan of exterior especially front end. Lexus is way more attractive. But interior is pretty impressive
