9:28 The most in sync, cleanest gauge sweep I’ve ever seen in my life. Cadillac took their time with the details. These gauges are also very good looking, clear and easy to read even on camera. I love the simplistic take Cadillac has on luxury. Improved CUE system, improved transmission, no complicated turbocharged crap. Refinement, design and technology is luxury and Cadillac understands that. Bravo!
My grandparents used to own a Cadillac when I was young . I had a few friends who bought the first generation CTS and I thought they were cheap looking and had no features. For these reasons they weren’t a car brand on my radar. Recently I found myself looking for a new family sedan. Made a few stops at the usual places and then the salesman showed me a 2016 Cadillac CTS 4 luxury package. I was hesitant to even look but I was very pleasantly surprised about the whole experience . Definitely if you’re looking for a new car I wouldn’t pass them up just based on your previous experiences . I sure do like my CTS4 and highly recommend it.
In entry trim for both Cadillac and Lincoln the price points are significantly lower than the German competition. Thus a mid-spec or higher version of both brands should be considered in any comparison test. And this is true also for comparing these two against any of the Asian brands.
I just picked up my 2022 XT6 Premium Luxury last week and I couldn't be happier with it! Terrific looking and functional, great space and comfort, reasonably priced for it's segment, great tech and safety features, plenty of power and a smooth ride! It's my first domestic US car brand purchase in 20 years.
I like the Cadillac XT6 but it doesn't seem to wow me at all, but the new Lincoln Aviator is probably gonna be a hit for Ford and Lincoln. The review was great as always.
@@mybro727 you and miguel ircontar clearly don't have good taste. This is a rebadged Traverse and has an outdated interior. Aviator is 10000000x better!
I agree! That's the biggest problem with the XT6! It's using the same old corporate NA V6 found in almost everything from GM! I don't understand why they didn't use one of their exclusive engines to set the XT6 apart from the rest of GM's mainstream SUVs! Besides styling and the Super Cruise tech, there's not enough the XT6 has to offer that justifies its premium over a comparable Acadia or Traverse!
...but what's remarkable about the german competition? I completely forgot the Audi even exists. I can't remember the last time I saw one, maybe because they're so nondescript. The only time I even hear it being discussed these days is in reference to the XT6.
Have 600+ miles on my Premium XT6. Regardless of your auto preference, it makes a bold statement sitting in my driveway. Wife loves it, so life is good. One point -- the Surround Vision Recorder SanDisk slot is not behind the glove box as shown in the Owners Manual. The slot is underneath the center console.
I look for your video reviews anytime I’m looking at a car. Love that you don’t spend a lot of time cracking jokes and videoing yourselves like other reviewers. I just want to see the car and details in the interior. Keep it up and thanks.
@Russell _747 I wouldn't say that. The tacked on screen, the boring looking gauge cluster, and the seat controls that are not very easy to use seem to be the downsides of the Aviator. Is the Lincoln Aviator impressive? Absolutely, but not more impressive than the Cadillac XT6. It really comes down to personal preference.
Great job guys! I was not a fan of the XT6 originally. But that has changed now that I see it in Cadillac's Crimson Red. It just shows it way better than the black and silver versions I've seen previously. People keep harping on the interior, but this competes with an MDX, RX-L, and other marques. Their base interiors are not exactly ground-breaking. And then there is the Aviator people keep referring to. Yes, it may be faster(though as we've seen with the Nautilus 2.7T, the GM 3.6 keeps up with it), but you have to pay $15-$20k over this for the versions are seen at the auto shows, and definitely $85k+ for that hybrid model, which will never find homes because people simply will not buy it over the Germans of the same price. I think Cadillac played it safe and will be rewarded by the buying public. For the audacious and daring styling, that is what the Escalade will be for.
Glad you were able to get an early review on this beast. I know you get tired of me mentioning Lincoln but do you have a partnership with a dealership in your area? Because when the Aviators and Corsairs start selling it will be a wrap! You will absolutely love those I guarantee it!
I like the design, because it's simple. They didn't try too hard to make it look "modern." It almost has a retro boxy design. Plus, I love Cadillac's interior design, as well as those analog gauges. Very nice and simple.
@@Kenneybrock That's your opinion, i feel the same way about the Aviators, and Navigator interior, including those tacky infotainment systems, it look like a tablet glued onto the dash.
@Terry Dixon - To be clear, I was offering MY opinion which did not include any preference for the Aviator. I also prefer the integrated infotainment screen and hate the stuck on tablet look of the Navigator, Aviator, and Mercedes C class vehicles but that doesn't make the XT6 interior any less boring. All that said, the BMW X5 and the Audi Q7 offer a NON-BORING, luxury level interior even WITH the non-integrated infotainment screen.
@@gaddyify I personally find the design to be a bit boring, especially compared to the newest Audi and Mercedes interiors. I feel the same way about the CT6. But I agree that Cadillac shouldn't be getting flagged for not using genuine luxury materials in their latest interiors, because that's just not true!! I give them credit for finally starting to step up their game!
This actually looks better than the preproduction model which I didn't expect for it to show as much as it does. I like this but it doesn't have the amenities found in the competition plus for fw drive and aw drive to have the same mileage it's a little disappointing. Overall the design is nice but may not be the best option.
Thoroughly enjoyed this review Drew and Mason 😄, the exterior color is amazing. Though I'm not really a GM guy as I've said, Cadillac did a fantastic job with this crossover. It is truly awesome that you two are the first to have reviewed the actual production model. What's the name of the exterior color? I'm very much looking forward to more reviews from your channel. Enjoy the weekend Drew and Mason.
Really like the interior and exterior design. However, the interior is too monochromatic in black, which diminishes all the design detail Cadillac has in this cabin. Nothing wrong with a little more bright work trim and needs the lighter shale color interior option as well as the maple. Cadillac should offer interior design options like Audi does on their upper tier models.
Hi, do you know if this Caddy has an electronic brake hold feature? Didn't see a button for it, but maybe its in the infotainment settings or something. Thanks.

Cadillac should bring a Europen designer for interior assistant looks like all GM chevy or Buick interior high trim interior not good enough they need to distance themselves from its cheaper products
Nice review, but it's definitely the millennial version of "luxury". This Cadillac doesn't offer much you won't find in a well equipped Chevy Traverse and they mention you don't feel any bumps, yet you can hear the car going over bumps as their bodies visibly move and react to the bump they just drove over. This car, along with most "luxury" cars produced today are really "luxury sport". A car designed to compete on the Autobahn with tight steering and suspension, even though most of these cars are driven in the US with crumbling roads and C grade infrastructure. It'd be great if manufacturers returned to making REAL luxury cars separate from their sports cars for people who want to commute back and forth to work and on family vacations WITHOUT feeling EVERY expansion joint in the road.
Very true! I can appreciate good suspension and chassis engineering, which enables good handling. But in a luxury car application, those things needs to be tuned to deliver a comfortable driving experience. Even cars like CT6 and new LS are being flagged for having a bit too harsh of a ride!
My experience with Cadillac has been awful. Became friend with service adviser. Twice changed QUE system inner panel cracks, once paid with my own money after warranty ran out. Got rid of vehicle when my friend(service adviser) told me it would cost $645 to change a light bulb, in a headlight. Because they have to remove bumper to change a light bulb.(labor cost $345) This thing looks good and I love ride quality of American cars but, I may encounter surprises like me going to Thailand and most beautiful girl I have ever met is named Joseph.

The Automotive Industry needs to start rethinking its pricing on new cars. I've seen less and less people with brand new cars on the road. Who can afford a $54,000-$57,000 new car these days? Even a lease purchase, monthly payments are out of reach even for families of middle class.
The interior is way too black and not luxurious for this day and age. GM could get away with that interior in 2012 but not today. A damn Kia telluride has a nicer interior. GM needs to start offering a more premium audio option except Bose only. Bose on a Chevy and cadillac doesn’t allow cadillac to have an exclusive luxurious image. They need to offer bowers and Wilkins or Bang and Olufsen. Their overall interior needs to be redone. They need diamond quilted seats and diamond quilted leather on the doors. They need full metal buttons and more genuine wood. They should offer headed and cooled massaging seats as in option in the 2nd row. Also their engine should be upgraded. This car is below a half ass attempt in this segment. As a cadillac owner, if I was in the market looking for a crossover I’d go with the Lincoln aviator hands down. I’m extremely concerned about the next Escalade.
You do realize that those companies have nothing to do with the sound system in vehicles. They license their name. Just like "Recaro" seats. Do you really believe that the real Recaro company manufactures the sport seats for the Chevy camaro? Come on now.
I would be better if Cadillac gave the xt6 the interior that the Ct5 has but with a full gauge cluster and they’ve should have the xt6 the 5.3L or 6.2L v8 and they should kept the same steering wheel design, the same steering wheel as the ct6

Even Ford's Platinum and Titanium models have Bang and Olufsen systems.
And i wouldn't even talk about power, Cadillac have own Lincoln with their V Series for decades.
Rather have the Hyundai Palisade
