It's so wild to hear you mentioned so much Tie-in material in this video lol I'm so used to you just focusing solely on the movies lol Also I agree, Transformers 2007 DS is so underrated, the Decepticon edition of the game is probably the best movie-verse story in the franchise. Also, I think the main reason why Ironhide kept his battle mask throughout the movies is due to simplicity. I think it's just easier to sculpt, draw, and market. Of course, that was not always the case but I think Hasbro probably didn't care too much about that type of detail and gave the marketing artistic freedom to choose which type of face design should Ironhide have. Another, great vid as always 👍

And I totally agree, the Decepticons game is the better out of the 2, of they did a dedicated remake/remaster of it with it being remade from the ground up to work on current gen consoles, that would be a real treat

Wait, so the mask that Ironhide wore was his Battle mask in pre-render promo material. I didn't even think that it exists outside of the ironhide concept art(which would likely be the same mask or a different one.
I thought that was supposed to be his nose when i was younger, Every time I look up images of Ironhide I always wondered how come he didn't have a mask in the films. I just assumed it was budget priorities for some reason. The leader class ironhide brings back memories of my childhood i lost it when i was 10 and I'm trying to look for one at a reasonable prince on amazon, i always love spamming the chest cannon.
@@Achieme I miss electronics gimmicks on leader class figures too as it help differentiate the leader class from other sized class figures. Sadly, they stopped doing electronic gimmicks on leader class figures after dark of the moon and they scaled them down to almost the height of modern voyager classed figures.

When I was little I always thought Ironhide had a battle mask in the films but when I turned 10 I realized that he never had a mask so I love this video.
What an interesting video this was. For my experience with Ironhide over the years as a transformers fan, I never really thought Ironhide had a battle mask of any kind. For the media where Ironhide did have a "mask" that I was exposed to: -Transformers Bayverse video games on the DS: I took it as the type of system the games were played on and low polygon count (what you said in this video), and in the case of his mugshot in Autobots/Decepticons DS, I always thought the producers maybe forgot to put a mouth on his face in relation to the system it was released on. Transformers The Game on Wii/PS2: I thought because of the systems they were on that the producers couldn't put on a mouth for Ironhide. Transformers ROTF on Wii/PS2: I saw something that resembled a mouth on Ironhide, but because of the limited capacity of the consoles, the producers weren't able to animate his mouth for lip movement. -Multiple concept art: I personally took it as a variation of Ironhide's head sculpt, which did lead to me drawing Ironhide with the "mask" as a different mouth piece where basically, he had a frown that resembled an isosceles trapezoid if you removed the longer parallel line, as a standard look for him. -The only Ironhide toys that I had in my life were Allspark Powered Voyager class and ROTF Voyager class, and both of his head sculpts looked normal to me, and also how I drew Ironhide. So, there's some interesting things about me when it comes to Ironhide. Also, I appreciate you doing a video on Ironhide as, ever since the first Bayverse film, he's one of my top favorite transformers characters. I know there are other videos about Ironhide on your channel, but I haven't watched them.

I ask my bro say why he have mask and the movie he don't. But again look great. The Transformers Studio series I have my brother give him for my birthday he doesn't have a mask so idk Hasbro finally did it or don't. So yeah. And now I understand and see it. Thanks for the video.

He actually has it in the ps2 version of the tie-in game in both gameplay and cutscenses. In the ps3 and 360 versions he has his more movie accurate look BUT there's an error in his cutscenes in all versions where he'll switch between his ps2 appearance and ps3 appearance

Another thought i have about transformers is that at the end of tlk we learn that the autobots are going to rebuild cybertron and are using lockdowns ship now, this brings the idea to me that megatron would repair the nemesis at saturn.
The battlin mask ironhide has wasn't shown in the live action franchise except for the previous figures except for the studio series figure & 15th anniversary pack.

At the time i couldn't really out what i was seeing at the time as i was so used to transformers cybertron at that time and the designs with those early art renders were so busy in their design language! 😅 good stuff! I got introduced to transformers since the movie came out in 2007 in theaters when I was six.

Another thought i have about transformers is that at the end of tlk we learn that the autobots are going to rebuild cybertron and are using lockdowns ship now, this brings the idea to me that megatron would repair the nemesis at saturn.

BROO! the lunchables brought some nostalgia to me! Those were actually the first sightings of the new bayverse designs i ever saw! At the time i couldn't really out what i was seeing at the time as i was so used to transformers cybertron at that time and the designs with those early art renders were so busy in their design language! 😅 good stuff! That's also back when the first trailer was just that moon rover getting destroyed that barely showed anything of a transformer! Good times, man! 🥲👍🏻
