My brother I am just blown away by watching this video. Both tv's by LG are just mind blowing and they both take image quality to another level. And anyone who says large tv's like these are garbage are either just plain haters or have no clue what the hell they are talking about. LG has knocked it out of the park and have just shown why they are the best when it comes to OLED technology. Much love and keep showing what these beauties can do. Damn if only I had that kind of money. I forgot to mention. You said is LG worried about the threat of QD-OLED? Hell no and they never have been and this just shows it.

Brian, thanks for being the man on the ground to showcase these two OLEDs. My 97" G2 from Value Electronics hasn't yet arrived, and I was starting to get buyer's remorse in light of the Z2's extraordinary capability. As I mentioned in a comment on the unboxing thread, I'm buying the G2 for my great room as an alternative to building the dedicated home theater I've been planning since college graduation (before I had seven children). The only suitable space in the room is a 91" wall segement. To respect my wife's wishes, this TV will be mounted on that wall, at a viewing distance of about 11.5 feet. That distance from a 97" screen results in a viewing angle that's a few degrees shy of THX recommendations, but we have a modular Lovesac sofa, so maybe I'll figure out a way to sit a little closer. After watching your video, I feel like the 88" would not have the visual impact and presence of the 97". A couple of salesmen tried to convince me to buy a big LCD for a few thousand less, but I couldn't bear to take such an expensive half measure, especially since I've been living with OLED for so long. Without an emissive panel, my guests and family who are sitting off angle would have an unacceptable experience. I think this TV really fits the bill for providing a cinematic TV experience for big families. I can't wait to catch a 4K football broadcast.

Hello My friend! I know it's difficult to see on person tye best seating difference but trust me when I tell you that 88" vs 97" in terms of tv size is massive. With the G2 you actually have that home theater feel that only a projector can provide in terms of immersion. With the G2 you get both the immersion but you also get the contrast ratio , black level and HDR impact that no projector on the planet can achieve. For me the Z2 is a different choice as a gamer that can use the 8k and even for the G2 would end up being the choice . Hope this helps and again congratulations on your purchase amd thank you so much for watching.

@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY I don't believe most gamers want the 8k@60hz, I went with the LG G1 77" for my gaming setup, which was the largest 4k@120hz Oled display for a short while until the LG C1 83" got released. And I believe that most gamers don't even buy the large screens but prefer the 42 and 48" versions for on their desk. I simply wall mounted my LG G1 77" and placed a desk in front of it with all wireless peripherals from Logitech using their Lightspeed connection, Bluetooth wouldn't be usable.

I can still snatch 97G2 for 17k vs 25k for G4. The gap should pay for amazing new processing and hopefully some brightness boost?

I really doubt that 8k comes into play at all at a decent viewing distance. The brighter screen on the G2 has to win. Bigger and brighter. 8k picture means a tighter pixel pitch and inevitably a dimmer HDR picture. Plus it uses up a lot of processor power that could drive better picture processing at 4k.

By the time 8k becomes relevant (say 8k blurays). This z2 would be the worst or good enough 8k hdr tv at that time (in terms of sheer hdr brightness easily). So it's better to buy a 4k higher brightness much bigger tv now than buying a smaller 8k lower brightness tv. And no knowing if 8k blurays will come in say 5 yrs, no one knows. that also is a huge IF. Also even 4090 won't satisfy your 8k gaming niche ofc talking about all games inclusive not just the rdr2, cyberpunk & Witcher crowd which will be ok at lower fps.

OK again our excitement calls us to throw out stuff Sony OLED TVs do not have blooming. Sony do have some led tvs with dark scenes blooming. Sony focus on being able to see more in dark scenes. this is one of the reasons why I left LG poor too dark scene that’s why I kicked LG to the curve. you couldn’t see what was going on in your movies on LG TVs however they have gotten a little better but I am focused on size. It’s awesome. LG may have all the gaming features but the other TV brands are just as good. Don’t let this person mislead you to thank that LG is what you need to have the best gaming experience by play games on my Sony OLED A95k

The 4K looks absolutely terrible in boxiness comparison to the 8K. 8K's realism is an entire different level, but the question is when will it be large enough to get closer to life size to show all the magic available without having to be there in real life which is an impossibility for most content bcz its not feasible to be done with cost & time; not to mention capturing it for play back again.
Even at 97in its still only about half the size of real life content so when will 8k OLED video walls be on the market at an obtainable under $30K pricing is the real question? What year will that happen i wonder? LG did announce a 272in 8K OLED, but nothing on pricing yet thou. Maybe 5 more yrs I'd hope it would be something I could afford.

2:55 Maybe it's just the video or the shooting angle, as these comparisons have to be done in person, but the 4K at 97' size looks much much softer than the 8K upscaled at 88'. I still think that at these giant sizes it's best to wait for 8K, especially for gaming, now that the new-gen GPUs are starting to make that very possible.
