Got my 65inch version a week ago and absolutely loving it! what shocked me the most is the brightness levels and using in a bright room is much better than my existing C9 and C1.
I bought the LG G2 in December. It's a beast of a TV. As a gamer using the console, it checks every box for gaming. Watching movies on Netflix or video content on TH-cam looks amazing! Design is solid. My rating 10/10.
Thanks brother. I am gona buy my first tv and i was confused between G2 and G3. I even had the budget but today i saw both the Tvs side by side and the picture almost was pretty much same. In all honesty i will be watching movie in night time and i dont think investing 1000 pounds in G3 is really worth it! Watching videos on youtube i can see that G3 is soo much bright but then i realised that Camera wont do any justification to what our eyes see
Watching this from an LG A2 we bought this year. Coming from a previous non 4k tv, is already enough and better from what we expected. Binge watched some series and movies (and of course youtube videos) in it and they all look stunning.
Bought a LG OLED C8 5 years ago, best TV ever, no comparison to any of the previous non-OLED ones. Still love it like new and haven't had any issues at all. The G3 looks like a insanely good TV!
Ah that's awesome! Funnily enough LG are also sending me a 65-inch for some future content, but I've been extremely impressed by this 77 G3, noticeably brighter and FAR better anti-reflective coating than my old g1

Ordered my G3 today. I was 50/50 between this and the S95C for a while but Dolby vision and it being better designed for wall mounting (and including a mount) tipped it for LG in the end. The £500 cash back through richer sounds didn’t hurt either I suppose.
Great review! My first OLED was LG E6 and loved it. I currently own Sony a90j and it’s extremely accurate, but I liked the pop of colors better on the LG. I noticed at the store on G3, it looks almost 3D, which I like! Do you think I will see a more pop of colors on the G3?
Glad to see OLED tech getting noticably better. I've made too many "marginal upgrades" lately on tech. So I'll stick with my 2020 C9 for now, but in 202X, I'm looking forward to the "wow factor" experience. It's tough because I'm a big tech fan, and I've missed that feeling of *truly* upgrading phone, PC, TV etc. because of too many iterative upgrades.
I have the C8 and love it! Got a big wow-factor when getting that one, not sure if I am going to get that next time as the leap might not be as big :) This one looks quite good though!

We have a large living room and my daughter was moving out, so I gifted her the C9 and bought the 77" G3 myself. It is the brightest OLED to date, but that does not improve the image. For now I'm looking at a faded image and I think I could have bought a cheap LCD. The AI tool to calibrate it as desired delivers an extremely unnatural result. Increasing contrast quickly goes wrong and the nuance in the deep black is missing with this OLED In addition, the cable routing is on the side instead of the middle as with any other TV, so if you want to hide your cables, you will be disappointed with this TV.

Picked up a new 48 inch C2 for $750 and it has been one of the best investments I've ever made regarding tv and gaming. Still use my dual 1440p monitor setup quite a bit for high refresh PC gaming, but the OLEDs are so good for lounging about and catching up on my movie and single-player game backlog.
Can you help with the selection? I am in doubt whether to buy C2 65" or G2 65". Until the end of the sixth month, LG has a promotion where they give an additional 3 years of warranty for the purchase of a new TV. In this way, the C2 would have a 2+3 year warranty, and the store where you would buy a TV only with the purchase of the C2 would give you a LG SN4 soundbar as a gift (according to reviews, I can see that it is not something fantastic, but it is a gift :) ). The price of C2 is €1649 and G2 €2000. After everything written, which is smarter to buy C2 or G2? I won't use the LG C3 because it's quite expensive at the moment and I need a TV soon

I purchased it, love it!!! I don’t think people talk about the build quality enough tho. This tv is super heavy and super solid. I also have a c series oled purchased a few years ago which is super thin and cool but I prefer the G3. Great review btw short and sweet!
I must admit I didn’t expect you to get rid of the G1 so soon. I picked up the 77” G2 over the holiday season and as my first OLED it’s been awesome. Gaming is great and I did unfortunately have to cut a hole in my wall for the HDMI & Power cable since I can’t get used to cables running down my wall but it worked out well and looks great.

@@SuperWyzo I myself would go for the G2 as I always wall mount and love the look of it. In terms of performance I think they are very similar with the G2 being a tad brighter. It’s been a great set for me. If you aren’t going to wall mount then go for the C2. Either way they are both great sets
The TV is tempting. Right now I'm using a 65" Samsung KS8000 in my living room and a 48 C1 in my bedroom. I will probably wait a couple more years to upgrade though.
I have a Samsung QN90A, QLED and I love it. Got good brightness and very good blacks. But I will be honest, I never owned an Oled, but that's because I could not stand thinking about burn-in. And I love brightness. But now Oled is comming to Qled brightness, thats cool!
I've got a 55" QN90A (ads panel) and a 42" C2. If I had to keep one it would be the QLED, I prefer it. As for burn in, I've had the OLED for a good 8 months now and haven't taken any care with it, (left it on FIFA menus, desktop home screen with lots of icons for hours). It hasn't showed any signs of burn in yet and it does automatically shift to different screens after a while on its own, so I do think burn in is probably less of a concern these days.
@@Brandywine92 nice to know! What i realise also is that this tv can reach 600 nits sustained brightness on 100% and that oleds can’t do this yet. I thought with mla they also could reach that, but not yet. I have also an Ads screen, first i was disappointed, but now i feel that it has strongpoints in gaming, so very happy.
@@guidowinter Oo nice to see another Ads panel owner, don't find many of those :) Yeah when I got mine I didn't know there were different panels for the same model so when I found out, and everyone was criticising it heavily, I felt really down about it. I even scheduled a return with the retailer, but my box got ruined by bad weather 😂🙏 so I didn't bother. Ever since though, I've been noticing but impressed by it and I've had it now for a good 14 months or so. There's more advantages than just with gaming btw, I mean I don't use mine primarily for gaming after I switched from PS5 to PC (I use the OLED). Don't get me wrong, I love it for gaming, and actually prefer it for single player games. Competitively my go-to is the OLED just for the amazing response time and just works a bit better with my PC. As for the advantages other than gaming - it still has an ultra black layer, now, without the coating that the VA panel has it looks really nice. Crystal clear, great blacks and great colour. Still pretty reflective, but doesn't suffer from rainbow reflections. Some have mentioned that they found the blacks to be even better on the ADS version than the VA would you believe. I use mine for TV shows and films regularly with a 5.1 Samsung surround sound system, love it. I'd be interested to know your go-to picture settings cause I spent months tinkering with that before I got it perfect (for me), it does take some work with this TV because of the slight contrast limitation. Sorry about the essay btw 😳
Beautiful TV. I've got an LG as well, although not as upmarket as this one. My biggest gripe about them is the menu, I don't find them as easy to drive as e.g. a Samsung. Just an extra button press here and there. Come on LG, get a little bit more intuitive.
Buddy of mine got diagnosed bi polar. Was a good dad and husband. Worked 6 days a week providing for his wife and kids. After the diagnosis, he told me his wife was mad at him. He was expecting some support, but was clearly exasperated by his wife treating his mental condition like it was his fault (his words). Drank himself to death 2 years later. Just dropped dead one day.
Gorgeous TV and picture! I replaced my 55” C9 last year with a 77” A80J and I absolutely LOVE the crisp incredibly clean picture it produces but I will say my biggest gripes are the lack of FULL HDMI 2.1 support across all 4 ports(only 2 support it) since I recently picked up a top spec PC and I also have a PS5. And my other issue is the stupid WiFi adapter issue it has… the built-in adapter is ass and takes forever to connect… I know I could hardwire it but that’s not the point… The new panels this year look fucking phenomenal so I’ll probably wait a year and see about getting one. Credit to LG for staying on top of the TV space!

This year the G3 is said to be totally usable in a bright room but I guess next year the reviews will say the G4 is much more usable in a bright room. 😅
Watching your review of the LG G3 on my LG 48 inch C2. This is my daily TV for my computer, I don't even connect the TV directly to the internet! I prefer the monitor mode. I don't like getting the latest updates which has the potential to brick your TV. So I connect every 6 mo or so for any needed improvements. My only complaint on this little guy is the dimming mode jumps in a bit to quickly, need to find how to extend the bright level a little longer. 75 inch is the bare minimum for me now a days. Look forward to the 83 inch or hoping to push to the 100+ inch size if I can afford it.
2:52 the power cable is supposed to come out at the left side as well. If you have some type of stone wall, rent a wall chaser with vacuum for fine dust. Then make a couple passes, knock the loose stone out with a stone chisel and fit a PVC pipe in the wall, something like 40mm diameter with a 45 degree piece on both ends, you will want to make the neck of the 45 degree pieces straight with a small hacksaw so it fits flush in the wall. Then use a filler of your choice.. Some kind of quick dry plaster will do. If you have a cardboard house like people in the US have you just saw two holes and install two brush plates in there and feed your cables through...
I'm using a LG 65" OLED65B6V since januari 2018, but it has served me well and not had a single problem with it! I don't plan on upgrading it for at least another 2 years :D
Upgraded from a 55“ LG C9 to a 77“ LG G3 a few weeks ago. The difference is so huge even tho I like to old UI and remote more, the quality is a night and day difference.
I completely agree with every comment you made about the picture, it is stunning. After watching your review, and others, I broke every piggy bank and got one too. Everything was going great, everything you and CNET had said it would be. Then I went to connect my AirPods. I got them paired and went to try them out, got back to programming and the sound came out of my speakers, WHAT! Fast forward two weeks and four calls with LG Support, the only way to have any other earphones/earbuds/etc. is if you unplug the main external speakers. Yes UNPLUG, LG made their top of the line OLED TV without the ability to switch between external sound devices. Legacy devices can do it fine but not this one. They’re working on a fix, per Support. Hopeful they can fix this or I will be really disappointed and want my money back.
My Sony XBR75 850C finally died for good. I just ordered a LG C3 OLED in 77" from Costco for $3199 which included an extended warranty for 5 years. Pretty excited after watching your review. I think I'll be pleased thanks for your review.
They brought back DTS decoding! That's great news!!! It means one day they'll probably bring back 3D as well! And with those tiny Micro Lens, they could add parallax effect without the need of 3D glasses. I'm stoked and I'll be waiting for the good news on the next models.
I got the 83C2 for 3,600€ in December. A couple of years ago I wasn't even dreaming about an 83 inch OLED, because the prices were way to high. I had it professionally calibrated and I think it looks absolutely fantastic. Having a light controlled room (just one window that has blackout curtains and dark grey walls), I don't need any more brightness. There are scenes that are so bright that I almost have to close my eyes. Especially after a prolonged dark scene. Another thing, I don't care about the LG interface, since I exclusively use an Nvidia Shield for streaming and as a PLEX client. If the C2 doesn't break or degrade, I won't change it until something like the 97G2, which is now almost 25k€, becomes afordable (5K€?). For real though, I don't know if I could get that into the room, because I have a somewhat small 90 degree hallway :)). So maybe I'll just have to go with a projector if I want something bigger. For those who are not sure about TV size, my advice is go the biggest you can afford. In my experience, going from 43 to 55 (2.5 meters away) and then from 65 to 83 (3.5 meters away), after 1-2 weeks you get used to the bigger size. I remember a few years ago, I thought the 55 was huge, and now I'm wondering how would a 120 inch 16:9 projector screen look in my space :)).

@@SuperWyzo From what I know, the big advantage of the G2 over the C2 is that it can get brighter because it has a heatsink o the entire back. For me, it didn't make sense, because I have a light controlled room, and there's no light in the room when watching TV. Like I said, sometimes in my room the C2 is too bright already. If you only get the extended warranty on the C2 and not the G2, then I would definitely go with the C2. However, if the G2 also gets the extended warranty, for the small price difference of €250, I would go with the G2, just to have the flagship :). Especially if you have some light in your room.
Bad math - it's €350 difference, not €250. I guess if you have the same 5 year warranty on the G2 I would still go with the G2, even with the €350 difference. Also, don't know what to say about the soundbar, never had one, since I'm using a 5.1 setup.
@@dragosdobre9479 Only with C2 they give a 3-year extended warranty, so it turns out 2 (standard) + 3 years (additional) warranty. The g2 comes with a standard 5-year warranty, nothing has changed there. The difference is €350, with the fact that I plan to buy another wall mount so that I can always mount another TV on it if one is sold, so that's +€100 for me. All things considered, do you think C2 or G2 is a better option?
@@SuperWyzo If there's not a lot of natural light coming into the room when you're watching, I would go with the C2 and save some money. I am very pleased with the PQ in movies and games. I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

So after years of having a 65 inch c9 I ran across a deal to get a 77 inch b2 for $1400 and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t really need a brighter tv because it’s in a dark room and since my ps5 runs through my receiver I’m not really missing out on any hdmi 2.1 ports. The B2 is a great value even at its retail price

Just bought a 77g3 today cant sleep until it gets delivered...very excited... cant beat the look of my past 77w8 but its so much better in every other aspect, for me this is the evolution of oled of the past 10 years

Having a 65"c9 a 77" C1 and currently a 83"C1 I'm hoping they drop the price of the 97" . I don't see any reason to upgrade i can't go back to anything smaller than a 83". The G3 will be outdated in 8 months and talk if the G4 and so on TV's are a rabbit hole ....
I got a C1 last year for £1.1k and although it's not an Evo panel it's bright enough for me and has a higher peak brightness than my previous midrange LED Tv. I also prefer the C1's stand to the C2/C3. The G series are a bit unnecessarily pricey and don't come with a stand so you're paying a premium for aesthetics really. Plus the low PPI count of a 77 inch puts me off going that big as I sit reasonably close so my 55" is perfect. I'd say anything over 65" you should really get 8k. My C1 is absolutely blinding during movies with flashing images like lightening etc... I really don't need it any brighter.
C1 is a great TV. It's only when you see then side by side that you can really get sense of improvements. 4K is fine at 77" in my opinion - been using one for last four years (but it about how far you sit from TV, ultimately)
Wanna see a side by side of the G3 and the SB95C to see how the anti-reflective coating and colour luminance levels compare. What i've read so far is that the S95C is far better with colours but the anti-reflective coating reduces black levels in daytime / brighter room.
I have the 65 inch LGC1 and it’s still a beautiful picture to look at and plenty bright enough for me i am interested now to upgrade late this year to the G3 or the next Sony QD OLED great review though that tv is beautiful
Looks cool, but I still like my C1 too much to even think about upgrading. Also if I remember correctly MLA is only on G series and I don't like the idea of wall mounting as it wouldn't be practical for me.
Hey there! With using the hue gradient lightning, do you have your tv flush all the way to the wall as much as the mount will allow? I plan to wall mount my G3 with the factory flush mount and was looking at adding ambient back lighting but wasn’t sure if it would work. Did you only do along the top and sides, and left the bottom without?
I'm so glad MLA OLED and QD OLED are gonna be great for bright rooms. I'm hoping to get an OLED for the living room since the Anti Reflections work well.
Looks nice. I am still rocking a 55" LG B7 from five years ago and have no incentive to switch. I got it for $900 which was a steal back then. Had to do some credit card price match finagling. It's served me well inside a bedroom as a PC monitor. I don't need high brightness or dolby vision or any of that.
I think most TV reviewers base everything on brightness as TV technology has improved so much there really isnt much more in terms of quality of life improvemnts. The improvement from a G1 to a G3 is actually not much if you put both screens side by side, and especially if you consider calibrating them professionally, both of these can be made colour accurate to a degree where you couldn't tell the difference, the only difference will be brightness. I think the big jump 'like the iphone moment' will come once something better than Oled is introduced. Micro LED & 8K is not it. It will be something with a real wow factor.
It's definitely refinements - but with this G3, i'm now left wondering...what's next? 8K...meh, MicroLED sure. - but it's so expensive and we're not there yet. I agree we need the next big thing for TVs now

@@janduller4722lol lg cultist. The OP knows what he’s talking about. Lg only improved in one department. Brightness. Which btw isn’t all that special when set to d65. The super high numbers are only with cooler inaccurate color temperatures. The reason lg fanboys love justifying their purchase is because they see the million and one flaws the g3 has, many of which are side effects of the added brightness such as gimped game mode to avoid burn in cases, green tint , posterization and chrominance overshoot.

I am planning on the 77" LG C1 model for around £3k. I really wish LG would change their UI as almost all of it is either advertising or unnecessary information. All of the apps are squeezed into a single line and doesn't seem to make best use of the space.
Great video. Yeah I love my G1 65in. Would only upgrade when the actual TV breaks if ever 🤔. Yeah I'm usually watching in daytime and night. I still think G1 is awesome. Yeah G3 looks super bright from the video. Yes expert bright too is my favorite on mine. APS is better for sports.
You'd love the 77 inch S95C with the one connect box if you're having wall mount cable issues, a single fibre optic cable connects the one connect box to the TV and all connections get plugged into the box u can place wherever.
Yea i dont understand his remark. You are supposed to route all cables down and out in the middle. That way you can have the tv flush against the wall. Maybe he just need a longer hdmi cable?
The reviews so far are showing that the LG G3 and Samsung S95C are very close as far as overall picture quality. However, there are indications that Samsung could have made the S95C even better, but they held back since the S95C is not their flagship TV. Therefore, the real test for the new QD-OLEDs will be the release of the Sony A95L later in the year. If the A95L hits a significantly higher level of peak brightness in accurate mode, then it will likely become the best OLED TV for 2023 (with the additional benefit of 4K 120 Hz Dolby Vision, which is missing on the Samsung).
Rocking a c2 42 for desk use, i am in a loft with 2 small skylights, i made some diy blackout blinds with some velcro tape and blackout material for £10, was gonna cost £800 for proper blinds, so brightness isnt an issue for me, might pickup a 77 c1/c2 if they go on sale for £2000 for the same room
Time to get rid of my G2, have 3 G2's a 65", 77", and 83", best to get rid of all of them and move on to the G3 series. This is a true GameChanger! Thanks Tech Chap!
I currently run a Panasonic 65" FZ-950 OLED, which is frankly still a stellar tv, but I'm sooooo wanting to grab a 65" or 77" G3, knowing it's going to be even better. My Panasonic 4K Blu-ray will make set these TV's off!
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I just got the G3 today and side by side with my C9, I can't tell the difference. Some of the GUI text seems to be brighter, but that's about it so far. I've tried streaming some 4K Dolby Vision stuff on Netflix and Disney Plus. I know it's compressed and everything but I thought I would be able to see some kind of difference. So far I've paid $4,000 for slightly brighter text and some vertical lines on the right side of the screen. Is there a particular demo I can run off a USB drive or something that really shows the difference?

@@SuperWyzo Hmm tough choice to make. Whilst I love the picture quality on my 55" G2, the sound is above average coming from the TV itself. I will be getting a sound bar to compliment it when I next see a sale. If I recall the C2 is more like a G1.5? Really depends on how much you love sound and if you want to save money and hope the gifted soundbar is good for you.

I am planning to buy the LG G3 55" inch in about 2 months. Why the 55" ?. The 55" model measurement in my living room, on the wall is the max. There is no more space on the wall. This model 55" is now: €1495 !! Euros in the Netherlands, Europe. I have now the Panasonic 46" TX-P 46 G20 on the wall and it is still working !. No problems at all with the screen.
I have the G1 65 OLED love it but want to go bigger so I’m consider the OLED G3 77. Is it possible for you to tag the Philips hue light strip. I’m been searching for a good quality one is that what you recommend.
I have a Philips 65OLED936 with the built in B&W sound-bar and Ambilight. Ambilight is a nice feature that is unique to Philips. MLA looks like a good leap forward for HDR content on OLED and the anti reflective coating looks effective as well. It will be interesting to see Panasonic and Philips 2023 OLED MLAs when they launch which should hopefully lead to lower prices on the LG G3 as well. 77 inch or above would likely be my next TV upgrade.
I'm using the G1 65" at the moment and I've been eyeing this G3 almost every day since it launched. I think I'll wait for a Black Friday deal to upgrade because I do think it is a substantial upgrade over the G1.

@@lgquelhas the difference is huge. And you're also wrong the B2 is 120hz. Also If you wanted something that's closer to the C2 you should go for the CS which in alot of cases actually goes for less.
It's gorgeous but how bright is too bright? If they continue making them brighter not only is the imagine unnatural but it starts to hurt your eyes 😵 Not that I'm jealous or anything... Just loving my C2 so no need to upgrade anytime soon

@@SuperWyzo I would go with the C2. I'm reading that there is not a massive difference between the G2 and C2. It is really only the slim wall-mount and brightness. You get the stand in the box with the C2, which could be a plus. I'm now seeing the 77 inch C2 for $1500.00 I'm making the purchase this week. Good luck with yours!
I unfortunately damaged my G1 moving and upgraded to the G3. Definitely not a planned upgrade but at least the new set is visibly brighter than the old one.

Got my 65inch version a week ago and absolutely loving it! what shocked me the most is the brightness levels and using in a bright room is much better than my existing C9 and C1.

I bought the LG G2 in December. It's a beast of a TV. As a gamer using the console, it checks every box for gaming. Watching movies on Netflix or video content on TH-cam looks amazing! Design is solid. My rating 10/10.

In all honesty i will be watching movie in night time and i dont think investing 1000 pounds in G3 is really worth it! Watching videos on youtube i can see that G3 is soo much bright but then i realised that Camera wont do any justification to what our eyes see
Watching this from an LG A2 we bought this year. Coming from a previous non 4k tv, is already enough and better from what we expected. Binge watched some series and movies (and of course youtube videos) in it and they all look stunning.
Bought a LG OLED C8 5 years ago, best TV ever, no comparison to any of the previous non-OLED ones. Still love it like new and haven't had any issues at all. The G3 looks like a insanely good TV!

Ordered my G3 today. I was 50/50 between this and the S95C for a while but Dolby vision and it being better designed for wall mounting (and including a mount) tipped it for LG in the end.

Great review! My first OLED was LG E6 and loved it. I currently own Sony a90j and it’s extremely accurate, but I liked the pop of colors better on the LG. I noticed at the store on G3, it looks almost 3D, which I like! Do you think I will see a more pop of colors on the G3?
Glad to see OLED tech getting noticably better. I've made too many "marginal upgrades" lately on tech. So I'll stick with my 2020 C9 for now, but in 202X, I'm looking forward to the "wow factor" experience. It's tough because I'm a big tech fan, and I've missed that feeling of *truly* upgrading phone, PC, TV etc. because of too many iterative upgrades.
Next year's LG G4 will probably have PHOLED and MLA that'll blow the C9 out of your wall!

I have a C9 and a C2. The C9 is way brighter. I don't get it. Pretty disapointing as I expected a bump up given the c2 is many generations newer.

It is the brightest OLED to date, but that does not improve the image. For now I'm looking at a faded image and I think I could have bought a cheap LCD. The AI tool to calibrate it as desired delivers an extremely unnatural result. Increasing contrast quickly goes wrong and the nuance in the deep black is missing with this OLED
In addition, the cable routing is on the side instead of the middle as with any other TV, so if you want to hide your cables, you will be disappointed with this TV.

Picked up a new 48 inch C2 for $750 and it has been one of the best investments I've ever made regarding tv and gaming. Still use my dual 1440p monitor setup quite a bit for high refresh PC gaming, but the OLEDs are so good for lounging about and catching up on my movie and single-player game backlog.
I have already slightly burned it, model CX probably by setting the dynamic contrast and warm medium color.

Coming from a 92" projection screen it's really hard to downgrade in size, but those perfect blacks are really tempting.
I purchased it, love it!!! I don’t think people talk about the build quality enough tho. This tv is super heavy and super solid. I also have a c series oled purchased a few years ago which is super thin and cool but I prefer the G3. Great review btw short and sweet!

I must admit I didn’t expect you to get rid of the G1 so soon. I picked up the 77” G2 over the holiday season and as my first OLED it’s been awesome. Gaming is great and I did unfortunately have to cut a hole in my wall for the HDMI & Power cable since I can’t get used to cables running down my wall but it worked out well and looks great.
The G3's higher brightness/better anti-reflective coating is quite a substantial upgrade - and I managed to get a good price on selling my G1 :)
I'm hoping by G4 time the MLA will be on the 83", then I'll upgrade from my old feeling 77GX

@@SuperWyzo I myself would go for the G2 as I always wall mount and love the look of it. In terms of performance I think they are very similar with the G2 being a tad brighter. It’s been a great set for me. If you aren’t going to wall mount then go for the C2. Either way they are both great sets

I have a Samsung QN90A, QLED and I love it. Got good brightness and very good blacks. But I will be honest, I never owned an Oled, but that's because I could not stand thinking about burn-in. And I love brightness. But now Oled is comming to Qled brightness, thats cool!
I've got a 55" QN90A (ads panel) and a 42" C2. If I had to keep one it would be the QLED, I prefer it. As for burn in, I've had the OLED for a good 8 months now and haven't taken any care with it, (left it on FIFA menus, desktop home screen with lots of icons for hours). It hasn't showed any signs of burn in yet and it does automatically shift to different screens after a while on its own, so I do think burn in is probably less of a concern these days.
@@Brandywine92 nice to know! What i realise also is that this tv can reach 600 nits sustained brightness on 100% and that oleds can’t do this yet. I thought with mla they also could reach that, but not yet. I have also an Ads screen, first i was disappointed, but now i feel that it has strongpoints in gaming, so very happy.

Yeah when I got mine I didn't know there were different panels for the same model so when I found out, and everyone was criticising it heavily, I felt really down about it. I even scheduled a return with the retailer, but my box got ruined by bad weather 😂🙏 so I didn't bother.
Ever since though, I've been noticing but impressed by it and I've had it now for a good 14 months or so. There's more advantages than just with gaming btw, I mean I don't use mine primarily for gaming after I switched from PS5 to PC (I use the OLED). Don't get me wrong, I love it for gaming, and actually prefer it for single player games. Competitively my go-to is the OLED just for the amazing response time and just works a bit better with my PC.
As for the advantages other than gaming - it still has an ultra black layer, now, without the coating that the VA panel has it looks really nice. Crystal clear, great blacks and great colour. Still pretty reflective, but doesn't suffer from rainbow reflections. Some have mentioned that they found the blacks to be even better on the ADS version than the VA would you believe. I use mine for TV shows and films regularly with a 5.1 Samsung surround sound system, love it.
I'd be interested to know your go-to picture settings cause I spent months tinkering with that before I got it perfect (for me), it does take some work with this TV because of the slight contrast limitation. Sorry about the essay btw 😳

A bit of un upgrade from my old 2015 Samsung Curve
Beautiful TV. I've got an LG as well, although not as upmarket as this one. My biggest gripe about them is the menu, I don't find them as easy to drive as e.g. a Samsung. Just an extra button press here and there. Come on LG, get a little bit more intuitive.
Buddy of mine got diagnosed bi polar. Was a good dad and husband. Worked 6 days a week providing for his wife and kids. After the diagnosis, he told me his wife was mad at him. He was expecting some support, but was clearly exasperated by his wife treating his mental condition like it was his fault (his words). Drank himself to death 2 years later. Just dropped dead one day.
Gorgeous TV and picture! I replaced my 55” C9 last year with a 77” A80J and I absolutely LOVE the crisp incredibly clean picture it produces but I will say my biggest gripes are the lack of FULL HDMI 2.1 support across all 4 ports(only 2 support it) since I recently picked up a top spec PC and I also have a PS5. And my other issue is the stupid WiFi adapter issue it has… the built-in adapter is ass and takes forever to connect… I know I could hardwire it but that’s not the point…
The new panels this year look fucking phenomenal so I’ll probably wait a year and see about getting one. Credit to LG for staying on top of the TV space!

Watching your review of the LG G3 on my LG 48 inch C2. This is my daily TV for my computer, I don't even connect the TV directly to the internet! I prefer the monitor mode. I don't like getting the latest updates which has the potential to brick your TV. So I connect every 6 mo or so for any needed improvements. My only complaint on this little guy is the dimming mode jumps in a bit to quickly, need to find how to extend the bright level a little longer. 75 inch is the bare minimum for me now a days. Look forward to the 83 inch or hoping to push to the 100+ inch size if I can afford it.

If you have some type of stone wall, rent a wall chaser with vacuum for fine dust. Then make a couple passes, knock the loose stone out with a stone chisel and fit a PVC pipe in the wall, something like 40mm diameter with a 45 degree piece on both ends, you will want to make the neck of the 45 degree pieces straight with a small hacksaw so it fits flush in the wall. Then use a filler of your choice.. Some kind of quick dry plaster will do.
If you have a cardboard house like people in the US have you just saw two holes and install two brush plates in there and feed your cables through...

Upgraded from a 55“ LG C9 to a 77“ LG G3 a few weeks ago. The difference is so huge even tho I like to old UI and remote more, the quality is a night and day difference.

I completely agree with every comment you made about the picture, it is stunning. After watching your review, and others, I broke every piggy bank and got one too. Everything was going great, everything you and CNET had said it would be. Then I went to connect my AirPods. I got them paired and went to try them out, got back to programming and the sound came out of my speakers, WHAT! Fast forward two weeks and four calls with LG Support, the only way to have any other earphones/earbuds/etc. is if you unplug the main external speakers. Yes UNPLUG, LG made their top of the line OLED TV without the ability to switch between external sound devices. Legacy devices can do it fine but not this one. They’re working on a fix, per Support. Hopeful they can fix this or I will be really disappointed and want my money back.
My Sony XBR75 850C finally died for good. I just ordered a LG C3 OLED in 77" from Costco for $3199 which included an extended warranty for 5 years. Pretty excited after watching your review. I think I'll be pleased thanks for your review.
They brought back DTS decoding! That's great news!!! It means one day they'll probably bring back 3D as well! And with those tiny Micro Lens, they could add parallax effect without the need of 3D glasses. I'm stoked and I'll be waiting for the good news on the next models.

I got the 83C2 for 3,600€ in December. A couple of years ago I wasn't even dreaming about an 83 inch OLED, because the prices were way to high. I had it professionally calibrated and I think it looks absolutely fantastic. Having a light controlled room (just one window that has blackout curtains and dark grey walls), I don't need any more brightness. There are scenes that are so bright that I almost have to close my eyes. Especially after a prolonged dark scene. Another thing, I don't care about the LG interface, since I exclusively use an Nvidia Shield for streaming and as a PLEX client.
If the C2 doesn't break or degrade, I won't change it until something like the 97G2, which is now almost 25k€, becomes afordable (5K€?). For real though, I don't know if I could get that into the room, because I have a somewhat small 90 degree hallway :)). So maybe I'll just have to go with a projector if I want something bigger.
For those who are not sure about TV size, my advice is go the biggest you can afford. In my experience, going from 43 to 55 (2.5 meters away) and then from 65 to 83 (3.5 meters away), after 1-2 weeks you get used to the bigger size. I remember a few years ago, I thought the 55 was huge, and now I'm wondering how would a 120 inch 16:9 projector screen look in my space :)).

@@SuperWyzo From what I know, the big advantage of the G2 over the C2 is that it can get brighter because it has a heatsink o the entire back. For me, it didn't make sense, because I have a light controlled room, and there's no light in the room when watching TV. Like I said, sometimes in my room the C2 is too bright already. If you only get the extended warranty on the C2 and not the G2, then I would definitely go with the C2. However, if the G2 also gets the extended warranty, for the small price difference of €250, I would go with the G2, just to have the flagship :). Especially if you have some light in your room.
Bad math - it's €350 difference, not €250. I guess if you have the same 5 year warranty on the G2 I would still go with the G2, even with the €350 difference. Also, don't know what to say about the soundbar, never had one, since I'm using a 5.1 setup.
@@dragosdobre9479 Only with C2 they give a 3-year extended warranty, so it turns out 2 (standard) + 3 years (additional) warranty. The g2 comes with a standard 5-year warranty, nothing has changed there. The difference is €350, with the fact that I plan to buy another wall mount so that I can always mount another TV on it if one is sold, so that's +€100 for me. All things considered, do you think C2 or G2 is a better option?
@@SuperWyzo If there's not a lot of natural light coming into the room when you're watching, I would go with the C2 and save some money. I am very pleased with the PQ in movies and games. I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

So after years of having a 65 inch c9 I ran across a deal to get a 77 inch b2 for $1400 and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t really need a brighter tv because it’s in a dark room and since my ps5 runs through my receiver I’m not really missing out on any hdmi 2.1 ports. The B2 is a great value even at its retail price

Having a 65"c9 a 77" C1 and currently a 83"C1 I'm hoping they drop the price of the 97" . I don't see any reason to upgrade i can't go back to anything smaller than a 83". The G3 will be outdated in 8 months and talk if the G4 and so on TV's are a rabbit hole ....
I have the exact same model and size. It is hands down the best tv purchase I have ever made.
I got a C1 last year for £1.1k and although it's not an Evo panel it's bright enough for me and has a higher peak brightness than my previous midrange LED Tv. I also prefer the C1's stand to the C2/C3. The G series are a bit unnecessarily pricey and don't come with a stand so you're paying a premium for aesthetics really. Plus the low PPI count of a 77 inch puts me off going that big as I sit reasonably close so my 55" is perfect. I'd say anything over 65" you should really get 8k.
My C1 is absolutely blinding during movies with flashing images like lightening etc... I really don't need it any brighter.
C1 is a great TV. It's only when you see then side by side that you can really get sense of improvements.
4K is fine at 77" in my opinion - been using one for last four years (but it about how far you sit from TV, ultimately)

Wanna see a side by side of the G3 and the SB95C to see how the anti-reflective coating and colour luminance levels compare. What i've read so far is that the S95C is far better with colours but the anti-reflective coating reduces black levels in daytime / brighter room.

A ten year old LG. It's not great, but compared to the 9" black and white TV we had when I was a kid in the late 50s It's fantastic!
I remember when we got our first color set. The neighbors had one earlier and it was amazing.
We got colour TV here in the UK in the late 60's. The sets were really expensive.
Looks nice. I am still rocking a 55" LG B7 from five years ago and have no incentive to switch. I got it for $900 which was a steal back then. Had to do some credit card price match finagling. It's served me well inside a bedroom as a PC monitor. I don't need high brightness or dolby vision or any of that.
I think most TV reviewers base everything on brightness as TV technology has improved so much there really isnt much more in terms of quality of life improvemnts.
The improvement from a G1 to a G3 is actually not much if you put both screens side by side, and especially if you consider calibrating them professionally, both of these can be made colour accurate to a degree where you couldn't tell the difference, the only difference will be brightness.
I think the big jump 'like the iphone moment' will come once something better than Oled is introduced. Micro LED & 8K is not it. It will be something with a real wow factor.
It's definitely refinements - but with this G3, i'm now left wondering...what's next? 8K...meh, MicroLED sure. - but it's so expensive and we're not there yet. I agree we need the next big thing for TVs now
its a big jump! dont talking shit if you dont have the lg g3 77 inch. i have it. and its mindblowing. watching avatar on it in 4k dolby vision. so nice! it blows the g1 away!

@@janduller4722lol lg cultist. The OP knows what he’s talking about. Lg only improved in one department. Brightness. Which btw isn’t all that special when set to d65. The super high numbers are only with cooler inaccurate color temperatures. The reason lg fanboys love justifying their purchase is because they see the million and one flaws the g3 has, many of which are side effects of the added brightness such as gimped game mode to avoid burn in cases, green tint , posterization and chrominance overshoot.
I bought LG OLED C2 55 inch 2 weeks ago, I’m loving it.
Could’ve gone for 70 something inch but my budget didn’t allow and I may keep moving houses so it won’t make sense.
For your wire management, we have (in the USA), what’s called Raceways, which you can find at most large hardware type stores.
I am planning on the 77" LG C1 model for around £3k. I really wish LG would change their UI as almost all of it is either advertising or unnecessary information. All of the apps are squeezed into a single line and doesn't seem to make best use of the space.
the 77" C1 is available at £2500. It's the 77" C2 that is currently £3k.
Upgraded last year from C9 65 to C2 77 inches.. Not regretting it a single day! Upgrading to G3 might be a little bit excessive
Great video. Yeah I love my G1 65in. Would only upgrade when the actual TV breaks if ever 🤔. Yeah I'm usually watching in daytime and night. I still think G1 is awesome. Yeah G3 looks super bright from the video. Yes expert bright too is my favorite on mine. APS is better for sports.

You'd love the 77 inch S95C with the one connect box if you're having wall mount cable issues, a single fibre optic cable connects the one connect box to the TV and all connections get plugged into the box u can place wherever.

Yea i dont understand his remark. You are supposed to route all cables down and out in the middle. That way you can have the tv flush against the wall. Maybe he just need a longer hdmi cable?
The reviews so far are showing that the LG G3 and Samsung S95C are very close as far as overall picture quality. However, there are indications that Samsung could have made the S95C even better, but they held back since the S95C is not their flagship TV. Therefore, the real test for the new QD-OLEDs will be the release of the Sony A95L later in the year. If the A95L hits a significantly higher level of peak brightness in accurate mode, then it will likely become the best OLED TV for 2023 (with the additional benefit of 4K 120 Hz Dolby Vision, which is missing on the Samsung).

Still enjoying the original Sony 55-A1 OLED which cost me £3k back in 2017. Just wish there was more 4k content on tv, films however look great.
Have the same one 65, awesome tv and waiting patiently for a95l 77 to upgrade this August. Dolby vision gaming feature is hard to beat.

Using Sony A8F and still liking it. No burning in yet, but i do use it at the low brightness level.
Rocking a c2 42 for desk use, i am in a loft with 2 small skylights, i made some diy blackout blinds with some velcro tape and blackout material for £10, was gonna cost £800 for proper blinds, so brightness isnt an issue for me, might pickup a 77 c1/c2 if they go on sale for £2000 for the same room
Time to get rid of my G2, have 3 G2's a 65", 77", and 83", best to get rid of all of them and move on to the G3 series. This is a true GameChanger! Thanks Tech Chap!
I currently run a Panasonic 65" FZ-950 OLED, which is frankly still a stellar tv, but I'm sooooo wanting to grab a 65" or 77" G3, knowing it's going to be even better. My Panasonic 4K Blu-ray will make set these TV's off!
Sony Bravia xr A95K was my choice, and I’ m lovin it. I don’t see myself returning to LG any time soon

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I just got the G3 today and side by side with my C9, I can't tell the difference. Some of the GUI text seems to be brighter, but that's about it so far. I've tried streaming some 4K Dolby Vision stuff on Netflix and Disney Plus. I know it's compressed and everything but I thought I would be able to see some kind of difference. So far I've paid $4,000 for slightly brighter text and some vertical lines on the right side of the screen.
Is there a particular demo I can run off a USB drive or something that really shows the difference?

@@kasadam85 LED has a backlight. OLED has individual lit LED's, so black is actually turned off and whites are fully lit. Makes a huge difference.

Until the end of the sixth month, LG has a promotion where they give an additional 3 years of warranty for the purchase of a new TV. In this way, the C2 would have a 2+3 year warranty, and the store where you would buy a TV only with the purchase of the C2 would give you a LG SN4 soundbar as a gift (according to reviews, I can see that it is not something fantastic, but it is a gift :) ). The price of C2 is €1649 and G2 €2000. After everything written, which is smarter to buy C2 or G2? I won't use the LG C3 because it's quite expensive at the moment and I need a TV soon
@@SuperWyzo Hmm tough choice to make. Whilst I love the picture quality on my 55" G2, the sound is above average coming from the TV itself. I will be getting a sound bar to compliment it when I next see a sale. If I recall the C2 is more like a G1.5?
Really depends on how much you love sound and if you want to save money and hope the gifted soundbar is good for you.

I am planning to buy the LG G3 55" inch in about 2 months. Why the 55" ?. The 55" model measurement in my living room, on the wall is the max. There is no more space on the wall. This model 55" is now: €1495 !! Euros in the Netherlands, Europe. I have now the Panasonic 46" TX-P 46 G20 on the wall and it is still working !. No problems at all with the screen.
Got mine last week. Wow first oled I've owned. But cable management is disappointing if your not cutting through walls

I have the G1 65 OLED love it but want to go bigger so I’m consider the OLED G3 77. Is it possible for you to tag the Philips hue light strip. I’m been searching for a good quality one is that what you recommend.
I have a Philips 65OLED936 with the built in B&W sound-bar and Ambilight.
Ambilight is a nice feature that is unique to Philips.
MLA looks like a good leap forward for HDR content on OLED and the anti reflective coating looks effective as well. It will be interesting to see Panasonic and Philips 2023 OLED MLAs when they launch which should hopefully lead to lower prices on the LG G3 as well.
77 inch or above would likely be my next TV upgrade.
I'm using the G1 65" at the moment and I've been eyeing this G3 almost every day since it launched. I think I'll wait for a Black Friday deal to upgrade because I do think it is a substantial upgrade over the G1.
Thanks for review. Nice tv wow. But what I don't understand is placement in the room. 5k tv and 1 couch almost behind it and the other on far left side. I think you should rearrange the room so you get the best out of tv. Its 5k. 😀 I love yoir reviews btw, keep on.

Got my LG B2 in today.
I could barely find any reviews on it but for $200-$300 savings over the C2 seemed like a way batter value
1. C2 is brighter with Evo
2. double the speaker (40watt over 20watt)
3. the better dedicated Oled processor A9 (Ai sound pro 7.1.2 plus much better picture upscaling)
4. Four hdmi 2.1...
the difference is actually huge in both picture and sound
If you don't need the 120 Hz, it is a better value. Forget what some people say here. The difference is not huge at all.

Also If you wanted something that's closer to the C2 you should go for the CS which in alot of cases actually goes for less.

It's gorgeous but how bright is too bright? If they continue making them brighter not only is the imagine unnatural but it starts to hurt your eyes 😵 Not that I'm jealous or anything... Just loving my C2 so no need to upgrade anytime soon

@@SuperWyzo I would go with the C2. I'm reading that there is not a massive difference between the G2 and C2. It is really only the slim wall-mount and brightness. You get the stand in the box with the C2, which could be a plus.

I unfortunately damaged my G1 moving and upgraded to the G3. Definitely not a planned upgrade but at least the new set is visibly brighter than the old one.

@@xFrxsty we forgot a stud finder so we set it in its packaging in the living room. It sat there fine for an hour or two then I left to get more stuff. Walked back in to see it face planted into the corner of my coffee table 😖
