    💚 Yes! I've been using wicks to propogate as well. They "do" work! I always forget to tell you ever since you introduced me to those pink cups. I so love them and no algae either. What a wonderful African Violet world it is once again! Before the pink cups I was ready to give up. Easy peasy now. Thanks 🤗 Amy for this great video making other's lives so much easier too. Blessings 😇 my dear friend.

    You don't need a 9 oz cup to propagate. It is too big and will take a long time for the babies to pop.
    2-3 oz solo aplastic cups will do the trick.
    Beautiful flowers! ❤️

    • @OrchidWhisperer
      @OrchidWhisperer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I have better success with these 9 oz cups than with a 3 oz cup. I had baby AVs pop up within a month and they're almost ready to be separated from the mother leaf. It depends on what works for you best. Happy growing! 😇💜

      That's how my mom taught me when I was a little girl. It was so fun to watch the roots sprout and the babies grow. I read somewhere after that, that those are 'water roots' and that the plant would have to start new soil roots later on. But i think that method works just fine.

    Hi, Amy. I love African violets and have several, but as I take the “old” leaves off, the plant forms kind of a “trunk” over time and I end up repotting it. Is that something that is simply unable to prevent? I wanted to ask in case I’m doing something wrong. Mind seem to be thriving, although not as much as yours! They are beautiful and thank you for sharing!

    • @OrchidWhisperer
      @OrchidWhisperer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stephanie! Yes, this is totally normal for AVs. I add more soil to the top of the pot to keep their necks covered, so to speak. Also, I repot every 6 months to a year, depending on their growth. Good video idea question...thanks for watching! Amy 😇⚘
