Hi David, thanks for your comment. At the moment I am just relying on the internal siren in the base unit. However I do have an external siren that I am hoping to put up very soon. I’m hoping to hard wire it so that I don’t need to worry about changing the batteries.
@@ianburgess525 Looks like you installed in April, would you broadly recommend the system. I have a place abroad and when I'm not there the alerts, hopefully none, would be my first line of defence, allowing me to call neighbours and/ or the police.
Hi David. I don’t have significant experience with other alarm systems, however yes, I would recommend the Ring Alarm. It was straightforward to install, easy to use and so far we have had no false alarms at all. Another big selling point for me was the fact that there are no additional monthly subscriptions required as I already subscribed to Ring Plus for camera recording storage.
Really enjoyed this video. Sub added, 👍 I'm on the same journey. Iv been looking at the external siren as well and especially hard wiring it as an option. Looking forward to your video on it. P. S looked at some other videos and I'm almost on the same journey iv got my unifi dream machine and aps on order as well 😊😊😊😊
BTW I found a video of a guy using POE to power the base station. ethernet cable into this TP link box that then splits the power and ethernet to the ring base station. Anyone else use this type of a method.
That ring motion det is to big it is ugly you can get honeywell alarm kits in Amazon and wireless and smaller motion sensor and you can program yourself especially if you are going through all that
Very useful videos - thanks for taking the time and effort to post them. 👍👍👍
Did it came with screws when you bought the ring alarm?
Outcome looks good. Are you buying an external siren or relying on the internal siren within the base unit?

Why didn't you go on Amazon and get a honeywell vista 20p or Vista 21p panel with a 6150 keypad and use the old siren and contact in the house
U could of used the ethernet cable as power. Connect the DC plug's to cat cable
