Thanks so much for this detailed video. I needed to change the bushes on the clutch pedal and wasn't sure how to get the clutch pedal out and this video really helped me.
@@Cohiba-pu6so Yes, the existing bushes were quite worn. Replacing them helped a bit, but the pedal still had a little more play in it than I would have liked. It's a 17 year old car though, so I was happy with the end result.
Thank you so much for the amazing detailed explanation and guiding, I was able to fix mine myself exactly the way you explained and it works, astonishing work mate.
Just been to local Ford dealer to ask to change wiper blades and fluid.... asked how much it was going to be.. "A Million Pounds!" Good video, esp tip about bleeding, i need to do mine soon as just noticed oil all down back of clutch pedal.
Thank you for this video!! Got to do my daughters and now feel confident! One question - how do garages get away with charging this. I struggle to find work above minimum wage and my wife is a healthcare professional who literally makes life and death decisions each day and really doesn’t earn much more. Total rip off.
Been losing Hydraulics in my clutch for a couple weeks now. Took it to one garage who went on a road test with it, claims that the gearbox was dying and I needed a Transmission fluid replacement. If that didn't work then the whole gearbox would need refurbishing. Was advised to get a 2nd opinion. So I spoke to a few other garages and all said that the problem is either the master cylinder or something within the clutch itself. Most likely outcome is the master cylinder. Can't get it fixed until Wednesday, is it still safe to drive until then?
Hi mate, this is the best tutorial on youtube to do this job,im currently doing one now and having trouble getting bolt to go through clutch peddle have manage to get master cylinder locked in place,i im doiig it the right way ? by putting master cylinder on first i got the clutch peddle in place as well just need to get that 13mm bolt to go through
I have a similar issue with my 2012 grand cmax clutch pedal was buried to the floor 2 weeks ago charged £308 inc vat for master cylinder replacement and just had the same issue within 2 weeks of replacement
Im pretty sure all the stuff to do with the clutch and gearbox is the same across the fiesta engine types , i can’t imagine ford would have developed two different master cylinders , if you just peak up under the pedal you should be able to see it
Hello mate. I've just changed my clutch master cylinder on a Ford Fiesta ecoboost 2013. Mechanically its sound but I now have to press both the clutch and brake pedal to start. I only ever had to press the clutch in to start.Ive replaced both pedal switches but still the same. Any ideas?
Hi, again mate, I’m still having a absolute nightmare with this fiesta, I’ve changed the gearbox as old one was busted, I put a new slave cylinder and master cylinder then bled the system, I’ve since been getting an ongoing accumulation of air in the clutch lines, I’ve tried the two person bleeding, I’ve reversed bled the system and after a couple of days I’m having trouble changing gears so I stop the car and bleed the clutch and the first bit of fluid is frothy with bubbles, I bleed it again till no bubbles and same thing happens. It’s not leaking fluid and reservoir isn’t dropping.I have heard it could be the seal in the slave cylinder sucking air in. I think I might have to take off the gearbox and put a new slave in and I might reverse bleed it as it states in the Ford manual. Maybe that’s why if you depress the slave before install it voids warranty. Just wanted to see if anyone has had this issue before. Thanks 😊
Hi my fiesta clutch is hard to press and when the car gets hot the gears gets stiff to engage don’t know if it’s my clutch pressure plate of master cylinder on the clutch pedal
Was it leaking fluid? My Fiesta struggles when shifting into first and reverse for the first couple of minutes, then everything works flawlessly. Before changing the clutch I wanna definitely try this first (the car is a 04 1.25i with 38k miles)
My clutch pedal was like paused before anything happened it was also going all the way to the floor and no change in gears and also the bite was like half an inch off the floor however I changed this and it helped a bit but the main problem was the slave cylinder in the clutch area
@@mclaren_media9145 when you say paused. Do you mean when for example in first gear then trying to change to second it doesn’t let you change while you pressing on the clutch instantly but waits for a bit like a second or two second then let’s you change?
@@sameqy yeah so like you said hard to change gears and felt really mushy and unfortunately there isnt a way to test it without actually taking the gearbox off but if you change the master and the problem is still there is either the slave or the actual clutch is playing up itself i do have a video on my channel also showing you how to do the clutch but its a big job
Best how-to video I've ever seen, so clear and informative thanks

Thanks mate glad to hear it

Thank you mate. Mine went at a red light last night, plastic snapped. Now going to buy part and do it myself ;)
Ahhh bad luck haha , yeah not the worse job in the world but good luck with it
RAC car service place quoted me over $2000 to do this, daylight robbery. bought the part and did it myself.
more than car cost itself😂
Thanks for uploading this, it was a real help. 👍
No worries mate glad it was helpful
Your a godsend. Perfect video. Although my master cylinder looked fine lol
Great video. Thanks, mate.
Great guy I follow all his stuff Highly recommended
Best way to do this by far, it's fiddly as F but managed it in the end cheers pal
Super Video.Thanks!

Well done mate well explained I was going to put mine in the garage but I think I’ll do it myself now
Very good video mate fairplay
Top man! Thanks for sharing, this video is very helpful 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Really useful video, thank you!
If you are a larger person it may be wise to remove the driver's seat to aid access to the pedal box.

Hi, Thanks for the video. Why did you replace it?
Great video mate
Great work mate, how long did this take roughly ?
To be honest was probably a couple hours hardest part was bleeding it
Hiya, do you have a video on how to bleed the clutch too ?
the bleed screw should be near the battery case and gearbox (its somewhere in the middle if your looking from the top). looks like a oval white shape
So useful!
Will the master cylinder be different on a duratec engine ? Or are they same as the part that you are fitting?

video to change clutch in mk7 fiesta please 🙃
thinking about doing it myself, but there appears to be a lot to it

Where is the bleed screw located can’t seem to see ot
Its right down on the gearbox side its got a rubber cover on the tip

Did you undo the bolts holding the master cylinder to the bulkhead, and did this help?
What engine is this for?
Would this be the same as the Fiesta ST?
Feel like the ST would have the same setup couldn’t think of a reason why it wouldn’t be the same
