I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned, but vitamin E helps tremendously with blackheads. Blackheads are caused by sebum oxidation and vit E is the antioxidant that is most abundant in sebum. If your sebum oil quality is low then you'll get blackheads. If I notice blackheads, I just increase my vit E and they will be gone in a couple days.

Hello, my name is Max and I’m 20. I have struggled with acne since I was 15, I have always had the sebaceous filaments and still do and other forms of acne I had a bigger issue with in the past but I still have some acne on my face most of the time. I have eaten clean for the past 2 years particularly a diet high in protein and fats with common foods for me being red meat, liver, eggs, sardines, smoked fish, milk, kefir, cheese, fruits, fermented veggies, etc..I also have cut out 95% of seed oils, only ingesting them when I go out to eat at a restaurant which is a rare occurrence. Point being mostly animal based sticking to whole foods with minimal processing. I maintain a very active lifestyle and my job has me outside every day so I get plenty of sunlight on top of movement. I don’t take cod liver supplements but from the nutrients you say it gives my diet and lifestyle should already cover my basis for what it would provide. Most days I won’t eat until noon when I have my first meal, then I don’t eat again until later in the day, maybe close to 5 or 6 where I typically start with a small meal and then I will continue to snack sporadically until I go to sleep, which is typically 9 or 10 pm including weekends which means I typically get 8-10 hours of sleep each night. I’ve maintained this lifestyle for an extended period of time and I still struggle particularly with the sebaceous filaments. Can you give me some insight on why I continue to struggle with this issue despite following my laid out procedures?
PCOS is horrible! I dealt with it all my life! And just like he said, Consuming less sugar is really the way to go! Intermittent fasting too yes, I only eat once a day!
Follow Dr Berg's advice. I did, after 3 months, the skin on my face got softer, and a lot less blackheads. There are still some, but definitely not as much.....
I want to share an experience to just kinda mitigate the idea it's just carbs that are bad for you, because I did get rid of acne and blackheads in my 20's on a raw fruit based diet and have them again now at 38 on a relatively low GI, but cooked diet. So basically at 20 I had what we'll call a bad diet to simplify, as well as very little sleep, but quite a bit of exercise (from work and walking/cycling a lot at night). I came across the ayurvedic diet by Dr.Joshi, which was only chicken and fish 3-5 times a week, lots of half-brown or wild rice, vegetables, bit of olive oil (but not too much either), and well, after I got sick and had fasted a few days I got started on that and it was amazing! For my skin, chronic hunger, for the excess fat/ water retention I didn't even realize I had in my lower body. For the first time in forever, I could see my muscle, lean and defined, I felt slim and cute, didn't have the lethargy anymore, my skin looked bright (oh yeah there was also the morning lemon slice in warm water and the frequent carrot juices and an occasional "liver flush" thing that probably did help. But then I came across a website that talked about what cooked food did to us and recommended a very specific diet based on raw exotic fruit (plenty, varied), always followed by a cucumber and tomato salad with plenty of olive oil, and each night, additionaly, an avocado with one raw animal product that I won't name because of the many precautions to take. I happen to not recommend this diet for various reasons but I know it did change my life and my vision of what true needs were, although it is just too hard to apply in a Western country in normal life conditions. Also, once a week, I would replace this "desert" by a piece of high-quality, very fresh raw salmon. Within a week I had zero comedones left, they had all "disappeared" by themselves. I had also stopped all antibiotics and facewashes and derm-prescribes creams for this, and didn't do anything to my skin, not even using water ton wash it, which by the way felt icky for the first 10 minutes in the beginning but normalized itself rapidly. Actually, I forget that since I was a student at this point, I wasn't always able to eat like that, and I sometimes had delicious English fries (fat fries made from freshly cut potatoes), cooked in decently clean oil, and I didn't add much salt to it. I never got problems from this and fries of this quality were considered in this diet as being an OK to have cheat food, because protein was the worst thing to have cooked, especially if cooked with carbs and salt. Also, sugar without fat. Or consumed After fat. The order was important. Potatoes with fat was quite fine. So I did this diet for about 7 months and everything was cool, I was less stress than I normally would have been, went to bed at 11pm sharp after a life of being a pathological insomniac - the type who can go to bed at 11am or even 2pm when not having exterior motivations (if so, 5am was still common). Acne, redness, flaky skin, and filaments/blackheads were halted for all that time. The frontier between the two being much thinner than is said by the way. I still had sebum on my face in the morning. But it wasn't solidified because of water retention in the face pinching the sebaceous canals and dead skin cell fragments. I don't know how many times I have tried to explain that story to all the people who don't understand the topic of blackheads. Its very multifactorial, but sebum by itself is not really a problem. I have had great skin before, WITH sebum. And blackheads don't cause pimples. Pimples just have some common factors with blacheads. But they're different.

I am on day 8 of Dr. Berg's healthy Keto plan, and on day I noticed my pores shrinking and pushing out the sebum. The benefits are countless on this plan, and I am very thankful for this information and inspiration!
Amazing. Thanks for sharing your experience here. Keto on!
how much cod liver oil do you drink per day
Great video
I shared this with my daughter as she’s having and been having severe acne problems since puberty
This video hit the nail on the head
Thanks Dr Berg for all you have done to help people live a healthier lifestyle
Very appreciated 👍👍
Thanks for liking and for sharing this video with your daughter. Hope it helps her. Wishing you all the best!
Man you're changing lives
I tried cod liver oil on my face, and to my surprise a beautician at the pharmacy commented on my skins gorgeous glow. A young woman, she was super impressed it looked so good. Warning: wear extra fragrance when trying this experiment in public. 😂
But do the cod liver oil smells?
What kind & can you just take capsule
I would also like to know if you can take a capsule
Did you actually apply cod liver oil on face? Which we consume in a capsule form?
I started doing both skincare (proper prescription based skincare) and proper diet 3 years ago, it got rid of my acne permanently, same for blackheads.
GRAPHIC WARNING: Don't eat breakfast while watching this. Lol.
Too late. 🫣😂
I had to avert my eyes. Read comments.
lucky me, it wasn't breakfast, it was dinner for me! 🤣
Lol that's what happened to me. Not great visuals while eating

Great advice, Dr. Berg! I recently increased the amount of Cataplex E I eat along with a little more DHA/EPA around my meal time, and let me tell you, it feels increasingly amazing. Now, my pecan and walnut consumption is a lot less. Thank you, Dr. Berg, and have a great day, everyone. 💪
Good morning Doc. I’m nearly 67 in 3 months. Lately my nose has been blistering and or peeling in spots. My nose is constantly clogging up. I’ve never had this before. I know my carbs and sugars need to decrease cause I’ve put on 60 pounds in 2 yrs since my husband died. My hormones went crazy according to my naturopathic dr. Any suggestions to calm everything and get bk on track?
I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned, but vitamin E helps tremendously with blackheads. Blackheads are caused by sebum oxidation and vit E is the antioxidant that is most abundant in sebum. If your sebum oil quality is low then you'll get blackheads. If I notice blackheads, I just increase my vit E and they will be gone in a couple days.
I thought it gets oxidized when it reaches the air. Blackheads are white inside. Any proof on vE?
What do you use to eat or use as vitE
Dr. Berg, listening to your daily updates is a spirit retreat! Can you please talk about athlete's foot?
Do an apple cider vinegar soak!
Tea tree oil (diluted) topically or colloidal silver. Both are antifungal 😊
will try. Thanks!@@WS-by5cl

Wow! Thank you so much for that.
Dr.Berg "THE MAN" that NEVER stops working. ❤🙂
Im a Dr Berg groupie - Your advice has turned my life around over the years. Just want to say ( i maybe alone in this & a grumpy old man 79) I do prefer your older style presentations with your big white board, able to see it clearly while you explain, just found this video distracting as trying to look what was on the tablet thing, missed things you said. Otherwise keep up the good work

I’m practicing a ketogenic /low carb lifestyle for more than 1 year now. I also integrated daily Vitamin C skincare. Result: I noticed a lot of changes in my body, and my skin improved in general, but the blackheads still remained.
Thank you. I'm frustrated because I rarely get notice of your new videos on my main page and I have the bell turned on.
Probably YT gone screwy again, un-sub -> re-sub.
My daily dose of health information! Thank you tremendously Dr. Berg & research team!! It’s truly appreciated!!!!
Great insightful video, Dr Berg! Love the way you explain everything. Thank you so much 🌞 💕

Once again, another great video with lots of good information on how to heal yourself without meds. Thanks for all your work.
Nice to watch your new setting. Easy on my eyes .Thank you. Enlarge the note pad , please.

Glad you like my new setup. Thanks for your comment.
@@Drberg what if your a vegan and cant use cod liver oil. This video isn't very helpful for a vegan. I've had these Sebaceous Filaments on my nose since i was in highschool and ive never been able to fix them sure they've gotten smaller but there never fully gone. I mainly only use grapeseed oil and olive oil when cooking. I get zinc from beans and nuts etc.. but i do eat carbs and grains. Anything would be helpful
@@Popo-oy3by one thing is making sure you're taking an omega 3 dha and epa supplement as he mentioned omega 3 is important, for vegans you can get algae based supplements for this if you aren't already taking one its important for many things.
I love @Dr Berg, but miss the whiteboard! I liked being able to stop the video and take notes!
He basically said take - Cod liver oil tablets / Zink tablets. Thank me later 👍

Nice setup, nice top view with the tablet and wooden table with the epoxy but it is small to see the writing on the tablet and the camera shot on it is lower quality compared to the main shot.
Several years ago I started washing my face with honey. It's skin nourishing, anti-bacterial. For exfoliating, I add 1 tsp of table sugar. Less expensive, widely available, more effective on my skin.
I love your new studio, it looks great! I've been on Keto and IF for a while, have lost 32 pounds and feel great, but still have some digestive issues. I don't think I'm absorbing B12, so I've been drinking ACV diluted in water whenever I eat. And the ACV makes my skin break out. I googled it and it happens to other people, too. I'm still using the ACV because I'm over 55 and have symptoms of B12 deficiency, but am so bummed out about my new skin problems. Thanks for all your help, our lives are so much better because of your videos and products. BTW, that headache tool of yours REALLY works!!!!!
Thankyou for all your great advice! I have followed your advice on diet and am looking better than I have in years...although I did have to buy a new wardrobe!!!
Back in the dark ages, (otherwise known as the early 50's) my mom used to give me a teaspoon of cod liver oil each morning. Needless to say I was not happy about that. But mother knew best, obviously! Thankfully, they now have it in capsule form!
Thanks for following my advice. Stay safe and healthy!
Great video Dr. Berg. My 12yr old is struggling with this right know so I will surely pass this along
I actually got this when i was a little kid, who knows nothing about this and thought it would look satisfying to put tape on my perfect clean nose when I saw a satisfying removing blackhead video when I HAD NONE and thought that I would have it and wanted to take a look at them.. Well, I did that multiple times which that in fact pulled away some of my important skin that was supposed to be that LAYER there PROTECTING my nose. After doing that, I have to deal with black heads and white heads for LIFE, THEREFORE, watching those kids, entertaining, DIY, or life hacks on youtube when you’re an ENFANT could effect you a lot continuing throughout your life
Lent, and me, I started fasting. No sugar in coffee, only eating one meal,if,any,a day. But, outside,in Sun, picking up trash, it's great.
All his information is correct, I know it from my own experience and not having a face from severe acne in the past!
Thanks for the presentation and analysis. I'm glad to find out , I am still doing everything correctly.

Dr Berg, great video. Could you please do a video on PCOS and fasting please. My wife has PCOS we been trying for a baby for over 7 years and no luck. I looked up and saw zinc suppose to be really good in terms of fertility. I would love to hear your take, we are even considering IVF. Really hope you can share your knowledge 🙏🏻
I’m not a Dr. but have pcos and 2 children… my naturopathic doctor got me to take inositol in powder form 3x a day, eliminating processed food and limiting any nightshades (tomatoes, eggplant, etc… very hard for me as an Italian) I also had to limit the amount of electricity in my bedroom and use only cotton/bamboo bedding and underwear…. 2 full term pregnancies after 2 miscarriages 🙏🏼 Best wishes ❤
I'm 72 and still have oily skin. Every night I use a 15% glycolic acid pad without the salicylic acid on my face and that mostly controls the blackheads. I do take cod liver oil, eat plenty of eggs, take code liver oil and zinc. I take practically everything Dr Berg recommends. Good thing about excessive oil I don't have a lot of wrinkles. Dr Berg, I just found out that my urologist has been tracking a cyst in my kidney. Do you have a video on that problem?
One small advisory Dr Berg for those viewing on mobile like myself (most people maybe?) The whiteboard is wayyyy too small. Zoom in please. I know you want to show off that AMAZING table I would too :) but cannot see the board too well. Thanks Dr really appreciate your content
If you have the YT app you can zoom in on mobile nowadays. Just letting you know.
Thank you dr. Berg. Thanks to you I found a cure for my health problems, I was deficient of zinc, selenium, low acid levels in stomach, many gastric problems and I am healthy now. Greeting from Poland 😊😊
Hi Dr. Berg, please make the your desk-pad view larger because the letters are too small and hard too see... thank you!! 🤩
Nice to hear something from a dermatologist other than shoving antibiotics down your throat and calling it good
Like you said at the begining of the video, the sebaceous filaments are just follicles oil accumulation, the best thing is to get rid of those follicles, starting with laser, electric depilation, etc…
The new setting is great, but please, Dr Berg, use a bigger board/poster when you write for us with bad/low vision. Thanks in advance.

I’ll try the cid liver oil and see if that causes issues.
