  • Hello Amigas and Amigos 😎
    I have new faces on my channel and I really enjoy that. Much more fun 💯 From now on we will explore and share our journey in Portugal together.
    In this episode we visit another gem on Silver coast - São Martinho do Porto 🇵🇹 Stay tuned and enjoy!!! 🙂
    Facts about place: São Martinho do Porto is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Alcobaça and the Portuguese West region , with an area of 14.64 km² and 3111 inhabitants. District is Leiria district. [WKP]
    From Lisbon its about 100km away and you can get here in about hour.
    In the summer it is pretty busy, because it is beach/resort destination.
    Lot of restaurants, we will visit some also.
    Real estate average price is about 3000- 3500 euros per square meter.
    I would say - visit this place, especially in January, February, March, April. For other months, I'm not sure how many people are here.
    Stay Tuned and thank you all for your support 🫡
    Tchau!!!

    Hey guys thanks for visiting my hometown village, just to clarify most of the buildings on the seafront are of some age they are not old but they are not new either, I'm 40 and i would say 90-95% of the building been there since i have been alive, they are kept in good condition because the village lives of tourism, and the village population swells in the summer to any were between 30 to 60K people, if anyone goes there do like the locals leave the car at home or hotel and walk, the village is not big easier to walk.

    • @millionplacesoneworld
      @millionplacesoneworld  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The village doing great job in maintaining house condition, that's for sure. Thank you for clarification, appreciate 🙂👍
      I believe in summer there are no parkings, since already now it was hard to find. Thank you once more 💯🫡

    Sao Martinho is very cool. We have been to the other side of that bay where there is a small church. I hope you visit it as well. Gorgeous views from there as well. Good hiking there.

    Near by pay a visit to Nazaré, Foz do Arelho and Óbidos. You will enjoy. At Foz do Arelho you may stay at INATEL and enjoy from spectacular views. Not so far south you may visit Peniche , Santa Cruz and the Buddha Heaven Garden at Bombarral.

      Hey, thank you for suggestion 👍 I've been in Nazaré and Óbidos, have episodes about these places. Foz do Arelho is on ToDo List 🫡💯

    0:40 - From what I've heard in all of your videos, I don't think you need to worry about your pronunciation of Portuguese names. It's usually spot on. 🙂
    8:32 - Lol, you're so used to eat on your own that I'm sure it must've felt strange to share the food with someone else. Maybe you're starting to think that it wasn't such a good idea to take your wife in your travels. 😄
    17:40 - Of course it's 100% natural, only Nature and time could've made such an impressive work.
    20:35 - Wearing shorts in January it's not something to brag about, quite the contrary, it's very worrying that 18 weather stations of North and Central Portugal have already recorded a heatwave, some of them over 10 days.
    One thing, though: the tilde (~) is in the wrong vowel in the title, it should be over the "a" and not the "o". Minor details. 😉

    • @millionplacesoneworld
      @millionplacesoneworld  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thank you, just corrected title 🫡
      About food, usually I'm stuffed, because I need to order 3 different dishes to show something, now that problem is solved 🤣 but yeah, I need adaptation when filming with wife 😁😁😁
      Nature does wonders, indeed...cool it's natural bay.
      Shorts - not bragging, I was shocked that in Praia D'EL Rey I was in winter coat and few weeks later I'm in t-shirt and shorts.
      And thanks once more for your comments, just saw another one in Viseu video(didn't receive notification before,strange), will take my reading glasses 😎

    Thank you for introducing us to your wife and daughter. You have a lovely family. It’s a good idea if you can travel with them as they always bring another perspective to any place you visit.
    I’ve seen other videos on Sao Martinho do Porto but your video gives a more complete picture. Your aerial view of the lighthouse is spectacular! Thank you.
    Finally, I noticed you tend to use a fork and knife when eating with your wife. Is that a coincidence? 😂😂😂😂
    Tchau. 👋🏻

      And thank you for your comment and good words💯👍
      You are right, now we will have 2 opinions about places, since often times me and my wife like different ones, this one was cool for both of us 👌

    Finally you brought your loves with you!! Your wife is gorgeous (I've seen her on your IG)... and a natural on the camera. Your little girl is adorable. You are surrounded by beauty. Lucky fella!
    I stopped in São Martinho on the way to Nazaré... I have the photos to prove it, but I cannot remember it, LOL.
    I drove the same road following the ocean as you did... but heading the other direction. You two did the 'couples on IG' backwards... the girl is usually in front 😉
    There was a good reason no one else was swimming and no good reason for you to go swimming in the Atlantic, in January. 🥶
    Did you know it's the Canadians who invented the 'Hawaiian' Pizza (aka Margareta with ham (or bacon) and pineapple. It did look good!
    That salad is called Coleslaw in Canada.

    • @millionplacesoneworld
      @millionplacesoneworld  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Bom dia Jen 🖐 Thank you for compliments to my family 🙂 Enjoyed trip with them.
      About couples on IG, I know, just wanted to try 🤣
      I thought the salad is coleslaw, but was not 100% sure, because I ate coleslaw in Germany and Latvia and it tastes bit different. Portuguese version I guess.
      About pineapple - that's new for me. Looked up online and yep it's Canadian invention, but Hawaiian was just a brand of canned pineapples right? Now I'm smarter 👍 Thank you 😄

    We live in SMDP, it's fun to see your whole family enjoy your exploration of this beautiful town....however, you missed the discovery of the true historical center of the old town...which is up above the main promenade. It is a typical old village with church and a square overlooking the bay, with cobbled narrow streets, a few shops & cafes. The bay was much larger centuries ago and the old town was on the hill above the bay. SMDP has an ancient seafaring history as well. Come back to go up the hill and for good pizza next time, try "Portobello" along the pier on way to the tunnel. Tchau!

    Yes, I've eaten there and it didn't impress. The layout of the restaurant is nice but I expected better when it came to the food. I like S. Martinho and Salir do Porto ❤❤

    Do you think that it would be better to stay in Sao Martinho do Porto oe Peniche in the summer?

    • @millionplacesoneworld
      @millionplacesoneworld  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey, it depends what you want to do 👌 In Peniche you have more beaches, Berlengas islands, Baleal etc.
      São Marrinho do Porto on other hand is everything, but in smaller package. Only downside I think is because it is smaller it can get more packed.
      Bottom line if I would go for a vacation I would stay I think in Peniche 👌

    So nice to see the town.....thanks for the video. Next time you'll have to do the boardwalk across the bay so your daughter can run up and down the sand dune at Salir Do Porto - the sister town! Waves food looks amazing. You know who else has excellent pizza? Ericeira. Beach Pizzas Ericeira and Pizzaria Pepe Verde - both amazing pizza. Lovely family....we'll be waiting for the next one. (For the beach and swimming at this time of year....tons were swimming at Costa da Caparica..the town is nothing spectacular but has a nice pedestrian street and small square and long promenade ...but beach is what you stay for...tons of surfers every day - it's definitely a sufer spot with surfer vibe....great waves but better for beginners than more north places. Just returned from 12 days there and sunshine every day but the last one and lots were swimming.....we just put feet in the water and not too cold! Too crowded even now on the weekends but great during the week.

      Hey, thank you for suggesting Sao Martinho , we went there because of your comment 🙂 And you know, we loved this place. Salir Do Porto will be another episode 100%.
      P.s. Ericeira is on the radar now, but some storm is happening in Portugal, so will see if we can manage. But Pizza noted, will let you know how was it in your mentioned pizzarias 😎👌
      Caparica - also is on to do list, but somehow still we haven't visited it yet 😁
      Big thanks for info and comment 👍👍👍 See ya!

    • @bh8138
      @bh8138 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Just a note re: the 2 Ericeira pizza places --Pepe Verde is only open on the weekends in winter and Beach Pizzas was closed when we were there in January (Had it last Spring and it was amazing) so good to check if/when they are open for February if you go this month. Also, in Caparica, try a Mexican place owned by a Swedish guy named Oscar called Huracan - very good! Chow. @@millionplacesoneworld
